I love how everyone has a different take on the PSMF bread. I found the Emmerich version with egg whites and powder finicky, styrofoamy, and time consuming (because of having to baby the baked loaf so it didn’t fall too much). Once the Emmerich Easy version came out it’s become our go-to. SO MUCH better! I can actually eat a piece of this with butter or make a grilled cheese. I like that it’s scalable since water and egg powder is one-two-one so I can make a loaf that fits my pan better (a little over a cup of both). I do add one TBS of egg yolk powder at the end which has improved it even more (from another channel’s experiments). I’ve seen a bunch of variation on both the original and new versions. It’s all a matter of personal taste. I just know it’s great having this for my sandwich-loving hubs. Sure beats those yuck dirty keto Aldis or Aunt Millie’s loaves. 😬

I bought a half cow yesterday and it came with 30 lbs of bacon as a special! Also, the butcher gave me a whole calf liver to try as I told him I’ve been getting it from a different butcher. Very grateful!

i made cubed steak with pork rinds, eggs and half & half used 2 tble of paleo flour for my gravy and man that was delicious. made hubby some mashed potatoes and well we were both in heaven..I am not on the challenge yet?

We by are meat when it's on sale tomorrow one of the stores we shop at has london broil for 2.77 lb we watch the sales and wrap the meat in freezer paper or seal-a-meal. The most we ever pay is 5.00 lb and that is for ribeye and T-bone steak 😋

I've made 2 batches of the bread this week. I use all the yolks though. I broke an egg the other day so added the yolk in making 13 yolks mixed through at the end and it was the softest bread I have made so far. Bacon grease so far works the best for me in the pan. Meat prices are getting higher in Australia as well. Chuck here used to be affordable but I have noticed yesterday it has gone from $10/kg ($5/lb) to $20/kg ($10/lb). Even our Aldi meat prices are up as well. A lb of similar ground pork here is $5.
I"m not completely committing to BBBE challenge 100% but going to do the best that I can ... hubby grills / cooks and doesn't do keto, so I'm at his mercy for dinners, chicken etc. Today I started with 2 cups coffee with 2 eggs, followed by 3 fried eggs, pork belly chips and 2 thick sices of PSMF bread and butter. He has chicken breast thawing out for dinner. But keeping carbs low is my goal and I think I'm doing ok.
@@Pooshee123 My costco cuts pork belly into 'logs' and I cut them about 1/4inch or more and put in cast iron skillet and crank up the heat til they get really brown and then turn over and repeat. I even save the grease it is quite tasty. Dr. Ken Berry has a video on 'bacon chips', you can probably prepare the pork belly the same way
regarding allulose, I've reduced down to 1/2T and it still gives me gas ... ok if I'm home. Last night's bread I made without any allulose, tho I did use 1/2T lakanto golden, and add 2 yolks. Turned out awesome, soft and tasty but the side did cave in.
I found Chuck Roast at Aldi's for $4 and change. They also had EggLife wraps. Everyone is buying those at Walmart by here in Lakeland it's not available anywhere near me till now. I'm so excited. Food was getting a bit boring.

So I just made the bread pretty much exactly as you showed. I f I did anything different I only beat my egg whites with cream of tartar and salt for 3 minutes, it was pretty stiff in my mixer. It turned out better than I expected. Very nice! Very filling. looks like bread when sliced, did not fall. I'm just not sure how to store it, gallon bags?
You dont taste any chicken flavor. We have tried it with the other savory flavors and it added flavor but not texture. I think thats because the other flavors are beef protein and not milk protein
Joe, I bought a Soda Stream a couple of years ago because I love fizzy water. It was so worth the money. I use it nearly every day. The pot roast looked wonderful. I am going to have to try aging my next one. I'm not good about planning meals that far ahead but it looks like it was worth it. Thanks for all you do!

This is the third time I have watch this video lol....I made the bread it was almost a disaster but this is my first time it wasn't fresh eggs it was carton egg whites...I didn't cook long enough it looked like it was cooking fast and browning to much....but I think I do it better next time..
Carton egg whites are harder to work with. We use fresh egg whites. It takes an extra minute to separate them but you get better results and its cheaper

And, I am, ordinarily, a pretty good baker! I will try your version, which looks promising with the added Keto Chow Chicken Base. It will hopefully be my last effort, and become my go-to. Why add liquid and powder egg whites? Why not just liquid or just powder? Also, does adding yolk powder instead fresh yolks make a difference in texture?
That is how Maria made the recipe. I believe the powdered eggs are required otherwise you’d have too much liquid (from the eggs themselves). And it would just be a meringue. Some people use just powered egg whites but i find it’s finicky to do it that way and also more expensive
Come on Rachel, you can crank up Beat Saber to a harder skill level! I think it is actually more fun at hard level versus the easier levels. The easier levels don't have enough notes sometimes. Expert and Expert+ are still too hard for me though.
we have a different recipe for chili without keto chow. There is nothing wrong with the ingredients in keto chow. The only oil that may be in keto chow, other than what you add, is in the flavoring and is negligible. The flavors have less than 1 gram of total flavoring. Even Dr. Berry approves of keto chow
Indigo Nili has very descriptive videos about the textures and flavors that would be helpful for you, I think. She is pretty scientific in her testing of different variations.
Styrofoam if you don't get it right. Heaven if you pull off the near-impossible feat of perfecting a soft loaf/batch. It can be an expensive toss up. Good luck!
Sat down to eat my chuck roast I cooked sous vide in the Anova Oven (thanks Joe! for your demos) and happily eating it and drinking water. I might add a small Keto Chow later, but for right now I am full. Rachel, I loved that voice mail you have in your head! I wish I had that in real life to put on my phone so people calling would get the message I'm not answering it. It was so good but my voice is too raspy to sing. BBBE is going well for the first three days. Ground beef patties, chuck roast, steak, lots of bacon (cooked in the oven) and eggs (fried, scrambled and hard boiled). I am cooking every three days and I cook enough to eat for a couple of days. Not many dishes to wash and no decisions to make beyond picking out what kind of beef I want. Looking forward to seeing what happens at the end of 30 days.

try it without the egg wash first. The egg wash (with the yolk) can add an eggy taste if you put too much

The sparkling water goes on sale at Costco frequently. At least here in Texas it does. I definitely stock up.

I make Maria Emmerich's bread all the time. I use 1 teaspoon of allulose and that is enough to give the pretty brown crust.

when you brush top with egg wash, how long do you put back in oven for? and how long do you leave in oven after you turn the oven off?
Just till it gets brown, about 5 minutes. Then we leave it in there for another 20 minutes

we have a different recipe for chili without keto chow. There is nothing wrong with the ingredients in keto chow. The only oil that may be in keto chow, other than what you add, is in the flavoring and is negligible. The flavors have less than 1 gram of total flavoring. Even Dr. Berry approves of keto chow

Indigo Nili has very descriptive videos about the textures and flavors that would be helpful for you, I think. She is pretty scientific in her testing of different variations.
Styrofoam if you don't get it right. Heaven if you pull off the near-impossible feat of perfecting a soft loaf/batch. It can be an expensive toss up. Good luck!
I think it has a slight chicken flavor, but otherwise it is great to be able to have bread doing the BBBE.

Sat down to eat my chuck roast I cooked sous vide in the Anova Oven (thanks Joe! for your demos) and happily eating it and drinking water. I might add a small Keto Chow later, but for right now I am full.
Rachel, I loved that voice mail you have in your head! I wish I had that in real life to put on my phone so people calling would get the message I'm not answering it. It was so good but my voice is too raspy to sing.
BBBE is going well for the first three days. Ground beef patties, chuck roast, steak, lots of bacon (cooked in the oven) and eggs (fried, scrambled and hard boiled). I am cooking every three days and I cook enough to eat for a couple of days. Not many dishes to wash and no decisions to make beyond picking out what kind of beef I want. Looking forward to seeing what happens at the end of 30 days.
I was dissapointed to find out that the latest research finds keto and low carb diets are high in all cause mortality in the long term.
Please provide that research.
