This is a really cool idea, unfortunately the timing of the clicks rely on the timing of the previous click which makes it not very rhythm based. If there was a way to reset to a fixed setup before each click it would work.

it is a platformer game. The only reason some may argue that it is a rythym game is that the main levels sync up to the song, but that is something that the people choose to do themself. It doesn't have to sync at all

this is definitely more of a rhythm game than geometry dash is personally i think GD is more of a skill game than a rhythm but this puts a spin on the game people know and change it to a bit more of a focus on knowledge and memorisation on whats coming up
I feel like if it really was a rhythm game every level would just be a showcase of decoration that you have yo click during since you creators probably won't need to put much effort into the layout
I do this for my own sync levels but I think using 2 player mode and have the player hit player one and two at the same time when things like a drum or a loud note is played.
Hey tride! I’m a really big fan and I found something that you could use for your gimmic level. I discovered it on accident when I was building my level. This gimmic happens when a ball hits an orb (I used the yellow orb) making it hit a block from the bottom, when the ball is hitting the block click and the ball will flip gravity. I moved the block 3 grid spaces above the orb. This would be very cool to see in a level.
I’m not gonna lie I always assumes that the jumps in geometry dash were synced, but now that I see what it actually looks liked synced, I feel a little dumb lol
after attempting this level i just have to say 1 thing, remember to change your fps back to 60 b4 you make level based purely on perfect music sync, bc it is so unplayable at 60 when playing to the music
I’d imagine this as a difficult level with a pink/yellow orb locked to x and y axis and then you’d have to go through tight spaces, then you couldn’t buffer anything, but wouldn’t have to time it late. Maybe you could use toggle triggers to toggle different orbs, just an idea.
I mean ufo and spider are very based on clicks only, ufo being basically infinite orbs and at least it's bounded so you don't need to do many spikes, but spider is maybe a little limited because the only worries are normally vertical instead of partly horizontal but certain cases can work well
Geometry Dash is a Cube-Jumping game, You will devise of it as a rhythm game, But, it kinda is an platformer game in 2.2, A specific thing in the Cube-Jumping game are admitting that it's a Cube-Jumping game, Like Spikes, Blocks, and Playtesting. Edit: Oh crap, YOU ARE RIGHT!!!
Dude, top comment gets it. We need a way to select fixed orb jump positions. I've always been making sync layouts and that is EXACTLY what I've always wanted/needed.
What's funny is this would probably get rated like at least "Harder" when, aside from dash orbs, you could literally beat the level solely by spam clicking
tbh when ppl try to sync only the decor to the music, usually levels end up with some bland and garbage transitions it's so much more satisfying when you can play a level without looking at it... like god dam, i don't care if a level looks good, if it doesn't provide anything special and just looks like it is, without good gameplay, i don't even care like sure, at least if gameplay was purposefully bad, then okay, but when ppl abuse move triggers so it's a memory demon... in a 6-7 star level
That's really cool. also i like your decoration a lot too, the first part was cool, actually all was pretty amazing. i would like to decorate like you, i am good at this, but not like you. i am going to play for sure now.
