El dia 8 de Enero de 1990, se presenta al Sunny B13, conservó muchas de las ideas del B12, pero en un cuerpo más redondeado y actualizado. Conocido en muchos mercados bajo el nombre de V16 como en Chile, Tsuru en Mexico, Sentra en EEUU, por mencionar algunos mercados. En Octubre de 1990, se presenta la version Wagon.
El Sunny B13 utilizo las siguientes motorizaciones, 1.8 (SR18DE),1.6 (GA16DE). 1.5 (GA15DS). 1.3 (GA13DS). Diesel 1.7L recto 4 (CD17). 2.0 L SR20DE. Con transmisiones Manual de 5 velocidades, Automático de
4 velocidades, Manual de 4 velocidades, Automático de 3 velocidades.
En Enero de 1992, se le realizo una ligera actualizacion estetica al modelo. Enero de 1994: descontinuado en Japón. Cambio completo del modelo a la octava generación.(Sunny B14).
En 1999 se le realizo una importante actualizacion al V16/Tsuru, ya como modelo 2000. El modelo en aquel entonces aun se seguia comercializando en algunos mercados y manteniendose como los mas vendidos en sus respectivos mercados. En 2004 recibe su ultima actualizacion y en plena vigencia comercial.
En mayo de 2010, debido a las nuevas regulaciones en materia de seguridad de Chile, el Nissan V16 se dejó de comercializar en Chile, para dar lugar al Tiida Sedán como su reemplazo. Según la prueba LatinNCAP, el Nissan Tsuru es un auto inseguro ya que en la prueba obtuvo 0 estrellas de 5, por lo se ha considerado como uno de los automóviles más inseguros del mundo. A finales de 2016, Nissan anunció oficialmente que deja de fabricar este modelo en 2017 debido a las normas de seguridad vehicular que entran en vigencia en México en 2019, aunque a inicios de 2017, y por un precio elevado, Nissan de México lanzó al mercado una última edición del Tsuru llamada "Buen Camino", que se distingue por tener tanto interior como exterior en azul, escape con terminación en cromo y por contar con equipo de confort adicional, aunque sin ninguna mejora en términos motrices o de seguridad, para los que adquieran una unidad Tsuru "Buen Camino" además se les incluye un paquete conmemorativo consistente en un llavero alusivo a la ocasión y una carta de agradecimiento por haber sido parte de dicha experiencia.
