- I make my way back into Gorges de Daluis and via mountainous roads I finally discover the Col de la Lombarde for the very first time later this day. Thinking of my last time in the French Alps brings back many memories, especially Col de la Bonette, making me feel emotional about the journey I've had as a freelancer to get to where I am now.
Another day, another ride, which I hope you will enjoy just as much as I did.
A two month trip to remember for ever - August 19th 'till October 15th. Three years ago I rode the France Alps with my Monster821 and now I'm back (for more)!

Fantastic videos, definitely going to have to go there. I was on the doorstep of that area in September and can't believe I missed it. I have an App called Archies that is basically a list of thousands of campsites. It worked perfectly for us 14 out of 16 nights. Sometimes it threw up a curve ball but usually we stopped around 4.30 pm, had a look for campsites i n or around a 20km radius and picked one. Places that we would never have normally found. Well worth the few Euro it cost.

Oh Leo ... how to describe this episode ... epic in so many ways. What I loved the most was how you showed us to enjoy the trip / travel, enjoying the ride itself, the reststops with the oh so yummie coffee, the choice of music, viewing the little specials that where researched beforehand, the mindset of the photographer ... just all the little things that makes you happy and relaxed. Riding a bike trough this amazing landscape is so much more than going from point A to B. And in your own beautifull vlogging style it becomes ... yes, epic. There are a lot of female bikers around and just like the male bikers there are those who only ride on the warm and sunny days and those who are regulars at the hivernale meets during the winter. It’s very much a thing.

Enjoyed your ride through those places where I am used to ride every year for about more than 30 years !!!
As you probably saw, Isola 2000 is a well known ski resort in this area and, depending on the snow conditions, there is a ski lift that takes you all the way up to the Col de la Lombarde just behind where you had your lunch 😀
Now what's amazing is, according to the season, you can ski in winter & ride your bike in summer on this slope/road, fantastic sensations & memories guaranteed 👍✌

Wow Ellenor, this video is amazing. Thank you. I am booked to go to that area next May. You are making me look forward to it even more. I am booked for about 10 days. However, I am now thinking I need to extend my stay longer (much longer).
I have been riding over 50 years, and never had music. The peace and time to meditate has always been one of the joys of biking. However, I have been experimenting with listening to music recently. Planning a 600 km each way trip in a couple of weeks. I will see how it goes with music. Another thing I might copy from you is to find a light weight camping chair. I did have one for a while, but it broke, and I never replaced it.
To each their own when it comes to what you want to hear. I find it suiting and it enhances my emotions even more, something I love riding in the mountains. Depends on your riding habits, you may or may not have enough with 10 days (I won’t for sure haha!) enjoy the trip
I have only recently discovered your channel as result of coming across your Instagram and am really enjoying it. You are a very talented video creator and story teller, well done! I am lucky to live and ride in the French Alps. Currently though winter is setting in here and we have snow and rain with near zero temps. As a result I am unable to ride, so watching your video is amazing and really inspiring me to start planning next years ride calendar, thank you. Keep up the good work👍

Yes, I found myself with the same feelings when riding in the Swiss Alps last summer,my first bike tour ever, it as amazing, but I was listening to Frank Sinatra 😂, it was incredible and I don't have the support of my partner, my wife hates bikes unfortunately, but whatever.
This year I want to do Route des Grand Alps like you, so I decided to watch people who already done it to get some tips and also the route itself, since I didn't find any map of it precisely. 🙂
Nice touch to add Sinatra to Swiss mountains. Must've felt good! There are some websites which include the passes that are in the 'Route des Grandes Alps' so I'm sure you'll make it work. Otherwise by saving the locations in my vids will get you a long way!

12:45 I took my motorcycle driving licence last year in France, and during the course, 1/3 or 2/3 of the students were women. There is more and more women on motorbike.

I also enjoy shooting with Gopro (but without audio commentary...) and I would like to ask you, if possible, what are the settings that make your videos so excellent for stabilization, I haven't yet managed to optimize this aspect.

Where did you get your mirrors from? They're just what I'm looking for.
May I ask, the trips you are on, do they cost a lot or can you travel on your bike on a tight budget because I note you often stay in motels. I guess I'm asking, overall, is it expensive or relatively cheap? Because I have been thinking of going to travel in Europe for around four months on my Desert X. Love your videos; thanks.
Travel will always cost money, isn’t it the gasoline, then it’s the accommodations and food etc. So yes, it is expensive. But the amount is up to you and I do think you can travel on a budget. I try to do it as cheap as possible, but also try to enjoy so mixing my stays in campsites, hotels, airbnb, tips from locals. Sometimes I’m lucky and can exchange some photo or video services for some discount. Especially when you’ll be traveling for four months (I guess in the summer season?) I’d invest in a camping setup. In the long run that will save you money. And campsites in Europe tend to have more and more pods, cabins etc which are sometimes less expensive than hotels if you want an alternative or when it’s raining badly. If you do make it to Europe, enjoy!!

It’s a Ducati DesertX and I had it lowered in suspension and a lowered seat. Original it’s 87,5cm seat height I believe. I’m 1.68m if that helps put it in perspective 😁

I don't understand how you can ride with outside distractions assaulting your ears. Just the bike, and the sounds associated with it , plus the scenery have always been enough.
