I was very fortunate to be at the first ever Australian KISS concert at the Perth Entertainment Centre on the 8th November 1980. I had just turned 13 and of course, they opened with Detroit Rock City. KISS set the bar impossibly high that night for any other concerts in the future. I am now 56 and been to over 100 concerts from different bands, none have even come close. The Hottest Band in World indeed! 👍👏👏👏👏👏😎
This has got to be one of the off the soundboards in the future. I always said this should of been alive 3. Great songs brilliant performance and the. Ocals are in elievable.

That is true! also if you listen to the whole show you can hear the quality of the un-edited vocals during his rants between the songs, not good at all lol.
Yeah you might be right about that lol... Especially considering the decades of sold out shows, tours and stadiums along with their legions of fans from around the globe, Yeahhhh, they must be awful.. terrible!! Lol
1980 was a funny year. On one hand they released their lightest and most "pop" album, with a session drummer. Then they go and hire Eric Carr, and the tour for that album turns out to be the heaviest they had ever sounded up to that point. It feels like the combination of a new drummer and the absolute 'Kissteria' of that first Australian tour really breathed life into them and gave them a whole new energy, at least for that tour anyway.

Paul has an incredible voice! This is by far the best version of the song I’ve heard!
I don't know what it is the best version if this or Tokio 1988 April 4
Yes, but it's not live.
Gosto da versão de 1984
Best vocal performance by Paul Stanley
Checkout his vocal performance of I Still Love You from kiss mtv unplugged show! Thank me later!
This is my favorite version of this song, because of the vocals
Hell Yeah awesome
and sad nowadays hear him sing this
Yes
he's bloody incredible, so powerful !!! sexy
Love this version!!!
If you like this go to the Auckland ( audio) show on here
Its a fantastic soundboard recording
Paul's vocal inflections on this version are incredible. It sounds great like this. There is an urgency to this version....devastating
Not live though
@@toke7342 What r u talking about?? This is 100% live.
@@jameshughes6049 the vocals are re-recorded
@@toke7342 That's kinda what I was thinking too. It looks like he steps away from the mic a couple of times while the vocals are still going.
@@jameshughes6049He's high.
Wish we had this whole concert with remastered audio to watch. All other TH-cam vids are so tinny by comparison.
London, England September 9, 1980 is an exceptional show as well, highly recommended having a listen 👍🏻
Ace Rules!
One of the greatest rock and roll songs of all time
Я всю жизнь с этой
Супер группой
Мне 50.
Благодарю класс видео.
👏👏👏
They should release this show as a live album
Eric Carr added so much energy to this song. The double bass is amazing
it sucked played wrong and to fast
Only Paul's vocal power 💪
This has got to be one of the off the soundboards in the future. I always said this should of been alive 3. Great songs brilliant performance and the. Ocals are in elievable.
Eric’s drumming here adds a whole new epicness to this song
such a great song
With Eric Carr on the drums and Stanley's voice this is the best version of this song ever.
Eric Carr added the double bass to this groove and sounds good! didnt even notice until hear this version after the original.
it's shit
i learned to play guitar because of this song!
This made me cry
Strutter from this show was the best I have ever heard as well
Paul’s rhythm guitar cuts out for most of it.
Busca Strutter Donington 88, esa es la mejor de todas
Best version of Detroit Rock City with the best Kiss lineup
Ace Frehleys guitar solo ...
Ace's rules
Ace Frehley is the master of the toggle switch
Merci 👍 from France 🙋
I love this version sm
O melhor KISS de todos os tempos! Paul Stanley, Gene Simons, Ace Fraley e Eric Carr (R.I.P. ERIC).
Life, power and... DRIVE!
Anybody who thinks Criss was a better drummer than Carr is blinded by nostalgia
So this is proof that Kiss once was a good band.
Man, Eric Carr's kick drum. Hits you right in the chest. Love you too, Peter!
Los reyes únicos del rock
THE REAL KI⚡️⚡️
Eric Carr with his dual bass drums sound amazing!!
I so wish I was around to see these guys in concert. But even when I was it was way to expensive 😅
The fastest they've ever played this song. SO good
this is slow compared to how fast they played it 1984/85/86
@@KisstoryRemasteredalso in the Crazy Nights Tour
This is pretty much the same speed/tempo as it is on Alive 2 and it was played way way faster than this on animalize live uncensored in 1984
@@musicfan1086no it's not you're clueless

I was there in the Grandstand. 14 yo.
This is definitely my favorite version of this song

This was right after Paul has voice lessons. Its very noticeable and sounds amazing.

Erick Carr, the fox
🎈
While I don't take anything away from Peter Criss he had his own style but he was no Eric Carr

ERIC F$&KIN CARR
An EXCELLENT version of this song (their best song they ever recorded, IMO)

Shame that Sydney 80' was overdubbed awfully. You can hear two Paul vocals lmao
That is true! also if you listen to the whole show you can hear the quality of the un-edited vocals during his rants between the songs, not good at all lol.
So obviously overdubbed , pretty awful to be honest
Iba a decir lo mismo. Está muy mal doblado.
El audio es de otro show?
No no, it’s a doubler effect on the vocals from the console not overdubbed at all.
@@NicolasPentrayNo, es un efecto de doubling en el canal de Paul.
Por cierto Paul es mi vecino.
Metallica rip off this song and made Four Horsemen
Paul is bouncing lol
Paul is singing a totally different line. Not so good.
Lol..if this is the best version id hate to hear the worst..✌️
Worst rock band in history.
explain why
Yeah you might be right about that lol... Especially considering the decades of sold out shows, tours and stadiums along with their legions of fans from around the globe, Yeahhhh, they must be awful.. terrible!! Lol
Then why are you commenting?
So much energy in this version...the band can barely contain it themselves. Love this.
Incredible performance, they were on fire and their absolute peak.
Can we all take a moment and agree this was the greatest drum beat in the history of the world.
All right Syndey you wanted the best you got the best the hottest band in the world Kiss very true Kiss was incredible in Australia

Yes Unmasked was a flop but I liked it "Is that you" "Shandi" She's so European" but they smashed it live with Eric Carr.
I was there
Opening Iron Maiden
