    Hey Jarod, Im thinking of getting a camera do you thing the Panasonic lumix Fz100 is a good camera as it has a very good zoom and has the manual functions which i think is a good way to learn before getting a DSLR and also for the money.
    Thanks

    How do you zoom in when taking a picture if you are trying to get a close up? I know that sounds stupid, but this is my first "nice" camera and I cant figure it out. Most camera's have a zoom in or out button and it auto focuses the shot. When I try to zoom in, it just takes the shot regularly as if I didn't zoom.

    @kasunbnd of course it is, the back dial controls your shutter speed, than holding down that plus minus and rotating the back dial will control your f stop, ISO u may be able to program in one of the function buttons.

    I love your stuff, but I have a small critique/idea: I think 'The Photo Fro' rolls off the tongue wayyy better than 'Fro Knows Photo', and it has a sort of tongue-and-cheek fro/pro pun that's a little subtle but appropriate -- DO IT! Things that are simpler and catchy..catch on. Market yourself!! :)

    I'm a newbie when it coms to videography and, I have a Nikon d5100. I'm playing around with it to learn how to best use it for my youtube videos. I don't know if I accidentally changed the features but when I'm in video mode, it tends to stop after like 20 seconds, and I have to start over again. How can I fix this problem? Also, the sound is not the greatest. I was interviewing someone and there is some feedback noise. How far/close from the person should the camera be for best sound? To achieve better sound, what type/brand of external mic do you recommend for this camera? Thanks so much for your helpful videos.

    • @jasonbodden8816
      @jasonbodden8816 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      renvik almeida What ***** is saying is true but you can get that bokeh in certain situations with kit lenses (starter lenses) like the 18-55mm. I'm guessing it's something like 3.5-5.6 in aperture range. You can get that kind of bokeh if you're shooting your subject at close range, or you're zoomed in tightly on your subject, while your subject is a fairly good distance away from the background. But to get the bokeh you're talking about easily in different situations you need a lens that goes to a really wide aperture like 2.8, 1.8 or wider. The wider your aperture the smaller your depth of field is, meaning that more of your subject is in focus and your background blurs out nicely.

    I use a Nikon D5100 with a 18mm-55mm and a 55mm-300mm lens. I take photos of high school sports indoor and outdoor. My Nikon 55mm-300 lens seems like it's not improving the photos of indoor sports and events. I am a beginner photographer who is learning about photography in school. I am looking for a lens that can do more zoom and focus. I have used 55mm-300mm for over a year now. Anyone have ideas for a lens upgrade from a basic 55mm-300mm lens? Under $5000.00. A Nikon, Sigma or Tamron lens???

    It is for deleting pictures off your memory card. Press the play button to view your pictures on the screen, then the ones you don't want press the trash can (or bin button if you are English!) and it will ask you if you are sure? then press it again to delete picture. Be careful because when its gone its gone, I always load all pictures on to the laptop as there you can have a proper look at the picture, then delete from camera. Hope this helps.

    @Wes2299 The "don't buy Nikon" comment was a joke, duh! You obviously have a hard time understanding what I write, cannot discuss matters like an adult and can only write silly internet slang comebacks. I do not hate Nikon, but rather hate people who idolize just beacause. I recognize strenth and weaknesses in every brand and camera. Now if that's too many big words for you, go read a dictionary.

    ISO is the sensivity of the light sensor in other words how much light will the sensor feel when you open your shutter. Bigger the number more light on the sensor but also more noise on your picture.
    You have to check the balance between light and noise, I keep myslef under ISO400 because my camera sensor gives too much noise in higher ISO's

    Hello there, are you familiar with "Photo SFXart Tricks" (just google it)? On their website you will find a smart free video demonstrating the right way to create outstanding pictures. This made it easier for Joe to shoot pictures that leave you with a jaw-dropping-effect whenever you take a look at them. Perhaps it will help you also...

    @eightdomingo Hey, how's it goin man. The f1.8d is a canon lens and won't fit a Nikon body without an adapter as for the 70-300mm, I wouldnt worry about getting that until you've developed. Lenses without auto focus are usually for photographers who want precision. My suggestion would be to develope a style before investing. The d5100 comes with a great lens as well! :)

    This may be a stupid question, but when did this camera come out? Should I go out and get one or does nikon release new cameras every year like Apple does with their computers? I currently own a D40 and have had it for a few years, but have recently begun to take more pictures. Thanks for your insight Greatly appreciated. Dope Fro btw.

    Just got my D5100 this past week. So far i love it. I have one question: I'm using an older telephoto zoom lens that says it's AF but i can't seem to get the AF working. I understand that it's possible that some old AF lenses don't fully work with the D5100...how can I tell if that's what i have, and is there a workaround? THANKS A BUNCH FRODUDE

    Dear Jared, I'm currently using a D5100 with a 18-55mm and a 35mm 1.8. I'm using my camera mostly for family vacation and taking pictures of my kid. I really wants to keep it to a 2 lense set up, but wants a little bit more reach. Would you recommend the Nikon 18-200 or maybe the tamron 18-270 pzd to go with the 35 1.8 for my D5100?

    Hi, whether Nikon D5100 as a second new camera will be better than the d90? my first was a d60 and after 2 years of shooting I want to change it to something better
