@@RoastedChicken__ This looks nice with diorite and glass, it was also the first design that doesn't break from unloading chunks on a server I found so I'm sticking to this

Signed, and I propose the shulker boxes be called neutron boxes as it compacts a lot of things to a tiny bit of space... Without turning into a black hole.
Just today I built one of the previous designs in creative to see if it works before I build it in my survival world. I was already gathering resources when I saw this video. Looks like I'm changing plans. :D
I built Ray's last design in my nuked spawn chunks in my hardcore world and it was bitch to get the shulkers to behave, even so they keep dying out underneath. I can't wait to tear down the old design and put this up.
Built up this farm and have been using it for a little while. Made some modifications to take extra shulkers and store them in a safe house. I remember first looking at shulker farms and being overwhelmed by how complicated they were and having no idea how to make that as a beginner to farms. This design was easy to follow and watching your various shulker farm videos have helped me understand shulker mechanics a lot better too. Always know I can count on you for farm designs that work well, are server friendly, and easy to understand :) Thanks for everything you do.
For those not trying to set the all time efficiency record, I built it half high, putting the top half slabs at the snow golem level instead of buttons. Covered it with water as Ray described, but put buttons on all sides of the remaining tower in the center. Still generates MANY shulker shells in just a few minutes. I'm sure the X and Z sizes could be scaled back as well if someone wanted to conserve building time/resources. If you fall into one the cells, I found it easiest to break one of the half slabs underneath you, wait a couple seconds for the water to fall, drop through, treading water long enough to replace the slab, ride the water column down and then scaffold back up to the build area. Much easier than trying to go horizontal through the bottom of multiple cells. (All assuming you didn't build over the void or a lava ocean??).
Ya know, for a farm that can be built in any dimension, that's alot of water. Well, as long as the stuff on top is just for despawning/mob proofing, then I suppose you can use lava for that. Good luck with the item collection though. You can use ice and piston+slime blocks in a staggering formation I suppose, but it still massively increases the complexity of the farm, and I'm not sure how the bullet pathfinding would work with an air gap where the water is. Still need to finish watching the video to see if the water up top is necessary for any other function.
The water is used to prevent the shilker from teleporting out of the farm. So you can just button the outside blocks of the farm. Also for the collection system you can use a hopper minecart
@@abhijiths5237 For some reason I completely forgot hopper minecarts exist. Yeah, those should work. Heck, they may even work better than the water, since the bottom could be completely flat. You'd just have to make doubly sure there's no spots for shulkers to tp to.
It’s cool seeing a new method. Sometimes farms are going to be standardized and not much can be done to optimize or rethink. I could even see a shulker farm that uses dogs or Johnny or some other mobs to blender them. Some way to stack tons of them using a reliable farm then push larger amounts of them into a killing area that also has a chance of increasing the number of shulkers because of them shooting even more.
Thank you for the tutorial! I built this in my off time over the course of a week. It took a good while but it was so worth it. I AFK'd for about 4 hours and got 16.5 stacks of shulker shells (about 263 shells/hour). Super worth it to not have to deal with portals or unloading/loading chunks!
I just build this in 1.18.1 on a Paper server, and it worked for a couple of hours so we left it on over night and it broke somehow. The aggro shulker in the middle is still there, but all others that shoot are gone. Dont know why :(
@@morganmalmgren4575 try putting another shulker in it. Apparently there is a very small chance that the shulkers will kill each other but adding another shulker should fix it. Once you have a lot of shulkers in there it should be pretty stable.

Made this farm this week, my FIRST shulker farm ever, super easy just material and time costly. So I didn't rush it. gathered all the material first for the build and then just did it. getting the hang of transporting the shulkers took a couple tries because if you get in the way of the cart it will stop and you can't push it. so you have to dismount it and that sends the shulker somewhere else that you will have to retrieve. Once in place all went so smoothly I had 2-1/2 shulker boxes full of shells in about 2 days of just afking. Thanks RayWorks!
great farm! just built it on one of my servers and got about 2 stacks of shells in 30 minutes. going to earn a whole bunch of diamonds now from selling them to other members
Finally built this farm! The rates are indeed around 270/hour. Farm has been running, and running, and running... Great farm Ray! Update - ran it afk for 24 hours. Looking at a double chest full of shells is a new experience for me. :)

Hi rays works, its an awesome farm and once we got it to work after 7 days of struggle, it produced us 250 (ish) shells on the first hour.. Anyways, you might want to explain the very important detail about the center shulker, that if its not on full health, it will TP out of the cage, and if you finished the rest of the build by then, then getting another one in that cage, is almost harder than to start over from scratch.. Unfortunately our shulker was below 50% hp.. and since we didn't know about the mechanics it escaped and we had to flood the entire farm and make only that 1 block available for teleporting. I would have loved that small 3 second explanation, it would have been a 6 days time saver.. :) But otherwise very good tutorial and awesome farm, love and peace
Just finished building this in my survival world. First few minutes after starting and it's already produced almost 2 stacks of shells. Had a few hiccups along the way, but mostly in moving to the overworld to be at spawn. Best way I found to keep the portal intact is use a boat and shoot it with an arrow to break it once it's in the portal. Hope this helps anyone else struggling with this. Luckily only had to move one, as it duplicated itself multiple times at spawn, so I even have a spare in a small cave.
I noticed a lot of loss from the blocks placed around the 9:30 mark. Those blocks were stopping a bunch of shulker shells from travelling across the water stream. I put half slabs in there instead. That fixed the flow issue, but dunno if that would cause any other issues.
Honestly, the building part is quite painfull compared to portal farms, that said, it's the cost of reliability and insane rates, and it's also doable in early game with the help of a simple cobblestone generator and a bit of redstone. Great work as usual !
Works on 1.21.1. Had the normal issues already mention. My farm stopped working after I started it, the shulkers spawned at the far ends. Redid my water on ceiling, probably watterlogged something I shouldn't. Now it works.
This farm by far is the most successful farm I've constructed. This tutorial was also really easy to follow and the farm was soo good I had to shut it off or else my shulker shell chest would have overflowed with shulker boxes of the shells. I have nearly as many shells as I do cobbled deepslate.

Just built this in 1.21.1 on a Paper server, this works flawlessly without any issues. Great design! Only criticism I'd say if you're building this in survival is to make sure you take extra resources. I found myself running out of slabs early. Plus I had forgotten to take an activator rail with me since this wasn't noted in the video description. Overall a good guide to follow for sure!
Very excited to give this a try! I’ve been playing on a slightly older Paper server, and there’s a bug that’s stopped shulkers from triggering pressure plates or passing through portals. But this farm should work perfectly!

Wow, this doesn't seem so complicated after all, just a fair bit of work in survival. This seems about as difficult as building an iron farm plus a cactus farm. Thanks for the tutorial!
(works fine in 1.19.2) some leakage during water transportation, so i recommend adding additional walls and make it 2 high walls on each end of water "pipe"
i built this in my 1.18 smp server and it rocks. now me and my friends have all the shulker shells we will ever need. together with a bonemeal farm into tree farm and we have all the wood we will ever need to make the boxes
@@RaysWorks Has nothing to do with the world download; when I was in the "reagro reddstone" section, I broke the dirt block underneath the shulker and it teleported instead of shifting which block side it was on (also, the invis potion did nothing despite me not holding or wearing anything). I'm sorry if it came off as harsh, I just have bad experiences with youtube tutorials and I was mad from being shot by the shulker a million times. Its a shame you won't see this cause I'm really sorry about the tone of the original comment.
Mine got stuck again after AFKing for several more shulkers of shulker shells. This time I took a closer look and in the 'front' two corners I have there were 4 in one corner cell and 1 in the other corner cell that weren't aggroing. Putting a water source in the 2nd to the top block and re-sealing the top got them to teleport and seems to have reset it and should hopefully keep it from happening again. I don't think I messed up the positioning creating it, I'm not sure why mine does this, but I don't think my fix of closing off the two corner cells should hurt my rates much.
@@RaysWorks On a Paper server with mods, I don't think any mods that would affect mob spawning. Trapped shulker is at 1425, 7078. One place I put the water is at 1410,7090, other at 1410,7065, other corners at 1436,7065 and 1436,7091. So it seems like maybe I misplaced the center shulker since one direction is -15 and the other is +11.... Still worked well for maybe 20 hours each time before they happened to all be located in those corners at the same time.
Yo Ray! Built the shulker farm and it works great. Had to be a little creative after making a mistake with the first shulker (since I play in HC) but managed to figure out a fix and it worked like a charm. Thanks for the tutorial, see you on twitch!
Hey! You mention in that sidenote that the material list might be slightly wrong, as it was difficult to calculate. If you're interested, adding Litematica to your mod folder allows you to use its one feature under "Area Selection" to quickly access a list of every block in a given space. Just mentioning this in case it proves useful =) (I put this same message as a reply to your comment as well)
they technically can, its just hard because the shulker's hitbox is bigger than the minecart's b u t the minecarts hitbox does stick out under the shulker's, so you can push it from underneath if you get the right angle
So for people not in creative mode with free flight... Getting down to the shulker to have him hit himself is not easy with all the water running, at least not with keeping nowhere spawnable. If you make the last 10 blocks or so leading up to the edge of your farm top blocks with the rails on top the shulker shouldn't be able to spawn on them. I did that and made the end the activator rail that ejects them and finished off with a solid block with a lever on 1 side and buttons on the other 4 (rail is on space of the 6th side on a top slab). I had a wall running alongside the top blocks for me to use. When I sent my shulker down the rails he popped right into the farm at the end. I'm just going to leave that there. Probably re-use it to take shulkers out, should be able to swap a powered rail for the activator and put a couple slabs along-side for the shulker to eventually spawn on. Then drop a mine-cart and he should get taken off.
Happened to me as well. Seems to work (10 minute test) with a second one, in the same spot and orientation. I think the first one was damaged before transportation, don't know if this affects anything. (playing in vanilla java 1.18.1)
Not sure why but the center shulker keeps dying to either the lava or it's somehow shooting itself still. It averages about 10-30 minutes till it dies or spawns elsewhere? Am playing on a server that's running pretty much vanilla fabric.
This is an insane farm. I'm dealing with an issue though. In the video you showed a process of having the central shulker shoot itself to duplicate and start up the farm. However, when I tried it and turned the farm on, it shot itself and teleported into one of the slices without duplicating. Weird stuff.
i need help, i built the farm however for some reason the shulker in the main contraption died, and now whenever I move one into the trapdoor area it teleports outside of the minecart and I can't get it back in :(
3:00 you say it can be built in any dimension. How do you keep the snow golem alive in the nether without combining it with a fire resistance splash potion farm? edit: as @Comit points out in a comment on this comment, water is not very functional in the nether either.
Love these farms. Sadly I found out that in Bedrock, even with the addon to duplicate Shulkers, they seem to only go aggro with the player. Still a lot of work needs to be done for Bedrock :/
The original etho farm that inspired this one actually uses the player to aggro the shulkers and power the reactor rather than a remote aggro shulker. So maybe that will work with your duplicate shulker addon?
I imagine you could also stand where the golem is and AFK throw snowballs yourself. There are some cool snow farms out there you could use to keep yourself reloaded
this thing works great...only thing that could have made the tutorial better is if there was a list of required materials and quantities at the begining
I love how if you ever need a farm for your world and you don't completely understand the mechanics yourself then you can always go back to ol' reliable Rays Works for both the most comprehensive and simplistic guide for literally whatever. There's no doubt whenever I tell someone that you have the BEST channel for minecrafting
Running this on a Paper 1.18.1 server and it still works really well, only thing I'm noticing is sometimes the shulker bullets end up outside the farm and I'm unsure as to why

Wow, this doesn't seem so complicated after all, just a fair bit of work in survival. This seems about as difficult as building an iron farm plus a cactus farm. Thanks for the tutorial!
We've built this on our 1.17.1 server and it works well, after just a day everyone has enough shulkers for years.
(works fine in 1.19.2) some leakage during water transportation, so i recommend adding additional walls and make it 2 high walls on each end of water "pipe"
yess, ive been waiting for an efficient design using 1 dimension, so much less trouble!!
Just built the farm in the end of our hardcore server ... very nice to have so many shulker shells! Thanks! 👍
I've been waiting for this farm! I can't wait to build and stop paying others for shulkers.
Amazing! I am not big fan of portal based farms, so this is something perfect for my needs!
i built this in my 1.18 smp server and it rocks. now me and my friends have all the shulker shells we will ever need. together with a bonemeal farm into tree farm and we have all the wood we will ever need to make the boxes
IT HAS ARRIVED!!!
Nice! Now I know what I'm going to do over this weekend. Thanks for the farm!
I always love how you can follow these tutorials to the letter, but shit will just not happen as its supposed to
@@RaysWorks Has nothing to do with the world download; when I was in the "reagro reddstone" section, I broke the dirt block underneath the shulker and it teleported instead of shifting which block side it was on (also, the invis potion did nothing despite me not holding or wearing anything).
I'm sorry if it came off as harsh, I just have bad experiences with youtube tutorials and I was mad from being shot by the shulker a million times.
Its a shame you won't see this cause I'm really sorry about the tone of the original comment.
I built this in 23w42a and it is working. (So can confirm 1.20.2+ compatible)
This is one of the most satisfying farms to see working. I was very lucky seeing this video a few hours before I was going to build 2D design xD
Hey!
You mention in that sidenote that the material list might be slightly wrong, as it was difficult to calculate.
If you're interested, adding Litematica to your mod folder allows you to use its one feature under "Area Selection" to quickly access a list of every block in a given space.
Just mentioning this in case it proves useful =)
(I put this same message as a reply to your comment as well)
Protip: make sure all your rails are properly connected. Shulkers in minecarts cannot be moved by entities.
they technically can, its just hard because the shulker's hitbox is bigger than the minecart's b u t the minecarts hitbox does stick out under the shulker's, so you can push it from underneath if you get the right angle
Thank you so much! This is perfect and just what i needed for the server I’m in! 💜 Amazing content dude
Thank you. I just finished the farm and it works just great. Already have 2 Stacks of Shulker Shells :D
When Ethos made his Shulker farm, I instantly knew it would be used by other people.
would love a tip what to do on if my shulker tp'd out of the original chamber and how to prevent that!
Happened to me as well. Seems to work (10 minute test) with a second one, in the same spot and orientation. I think the first one was damaged before transportation, don't know if this affects anything. (playing in vanilla java 1.18.1)
Just completed this build and it works beautifully! Thank you for this awesome video!!
Tested 2 separate hours first hour 290 shells and the second hour 266 hours
Not sure why but the center shulker keeps dying to either the lava or it's somehow shooting itself still. It averages about 10-30 minutes till it dies or spawns elsewhere?
Am playing on a server that's running pretty much vanilla fabric.
sweet build!
Still works perfectly! (I built it in 1.18 multiplayer)
Etho is a genius!
Can't wait to get java later this year and build all of these farms
This is an insane farm. I'm dealing with an issue though. In the video you showed a process of having the central shulker shoot itself to duplicate and start up the farm. However, when I tried it and turned the farm on, it shot itself and teleported into one of the slices without duplicating. Weird stuff.
I have the same problem. not a modded world at all, unless optifine counts?
Nice, loved seeing the farm being built on the streams!
The grin on my face when Etho was shown ahhh
Thanks for always bringing us the best farm
Now I just need them to add these mechanics to bedrock edition
i need help, i built the farm however for some reason the shulker in the main contraption died, and now whenever I move one into the trapdoor area it teleports outside of the minecart and I can't get it back in :(
Amazing design, so simple to build and really appreciated
3:00 you say it can be built in any dimension. How do you keep the snow golem alive in the nether without combining it with a fire resistance splash potion farm?
edit: as @Comit points out in a comment on this comment, water is not very functional in the nether either.
Exactly
use an iron golem
just combine it with a fire resistance splash potion farm. it also needs changes to the collection since... water but it is still *possible*
@@mariomurcia7509 it would just kill shulker
@@youcantusemypfpornameinarg4962 place it one block further away lol
This farm is awesome, but I have one request. Do you have a material list of all the items we need to build it? That would be great :D
lots and lots of glass. Better start digging sand and make yourself a super smelter
@@JamAttack any solid block can be used. It doesn’t have to be glass.
I just posted a material list in the comments, if you can not find it, just reply back here and I will send!
a ton of blocks, slabs, walls, and buttons
start quarrying and you'll be fine
@@RaysWorks can you also include another way to agro them in the nether/deserts? snow golems won't work
I just built this farm AGAIN in 1.21 and it is still working.
Ya
so i was able to get three shulkers into the farm but none of them would go into the middle cell lol what do i do now
love this farm only mistake I made the second time I built it was that I used a scematic and built the cells before getting the shulkers
Wow this really does look like a strange nuclear reactor and acts kind of like the core of one to.
Really cool, great design! Definitely building this one! As soon as I get enough glass. :) Thanks Ray!
Yep dont forget glass is not obligated x)
This farm sounds really cool
to explain such complex farm, got a subscriptor
That’s so cool it literally works like a fission reactor
Saw this farm already on reddit, loved it!!!
@@NerdyStarProductions REALLY?!?! Okay, I'll go take a look at the original Etho version!!!
I imagine you could also stand where the golem is and AFK throw snowballs yourself. There are some cool snow farms out there you could use to keep yourself reloaded
Looks very complicated but nice and useful. Good job as always with these farms.
Check Etho's original design.
Amazing designs ! The one with bubble column is definitely a sweetspot
What block can I use to make the walkway to access the chests? I tried flooded leaf but it didn't work.
this thing works great...only thing that could have made the tutorial better is if there was a list of required materials and quantities at the begining
Woah, I didn't know you could build Snow Golems sideways! I thought that was just withers.
you can do it with iron golems too
I'm trying to run the Shulker Shell farm that does it all, I followed the tutorial to the letter but the shulker on the reactor keeps on teleporting away. Any thoughts?
