This is great! I remember Fat Tony from around 1995 at Divine productions @ Bagleys etc. Always wondered what happened to him after the 90's. Then I saw the mixmag story & was just hooked on his progress from then. Glitterbox isn't my thing but if he was playing, I would go because he's my era of clubbing & he's very current & still a great talent. Fair play Tony truly inspirational stuff. Looking great too, no where near 50. Great to hear Davina's stuff too. I knew she was on the doors in the 90's but didn't know the full story. 10/10.
Having nearly 7 years clean time I’ve recently found myself struggling mentally during this lockdown. This is the first one of these I’ve watched and found it a great tonic. Related to so much that was said, truly inspirational. Thank you both, will certainly be watching more x.
My birthday is NYeve and I totally get it, only had one sober one thus far, yet I spent it alone last year. I love this conversation, thanks for sharing
This is brilliant. So identify !!!! And agree about the beauty of Zoom meetings. We can go all over the World and listen to different experience, strength & hope. God bless you both xxxxx
Just discovered this series recently and have listened to most of them, some very brave stories with great candour. Thank you - of course the one we are all waiting for is Kate Moss...
I'm sitting here with femeral vein blown up like a balloon. I'm scared I thought it was maybe an abcess or soft tissue infection but I'm in tears with pain. I'm 43 years old and I've been an addict since 1996. I'm on my second day of antibiotics I'm hoping it's not something more serious
They are telling my story. Tony's documentary. He told my story. I'm the same generation 53 Gen X I used to go to the Gardening Club Covent Garden and take E to lift depression. Paradise Islington. 414 Brixton. Few others, one in Victoria. The Arches,. I became an addict self medicating severe anxiety-depression. The drugs the doctors were giving me were making me more anxious and suicidal. I destroyed my heart. Alcoholic Dilated Cardiomyopathy. I like these conversations because they spill their guts about their behaviour. It humanises people we see on TV.
I thought it was kate Bush, really enjoyed this and Davina comes across as a top lady, I can really relate to this after the amounts of stuff I took during the rave era and now fill the buzz with tattoos and Gambling etc
You wanna watch that gurning these days Tony, your teeth might pop out. Also they were talking about me at dinner parties during the end of my using. Well I say 'dinner-parties', I mean the out-of-date food bins around the back of Greggs. My name was mud over the mouldy steak bakes.
