old city streets have usually narrow roads...they were born before the proliferation of motorized transpos...sometimes govt can do nothing about it aside from getting rid of those parked cars on the roadside...it's plain reality and history.
Because they allow the vendors to occupy the portion of the streets up to the blue lines only. that means if they allow them on the streets they also allow them on the sidewalks. That is true only on side streets like Tabora. Sa C.M. Recto hindi pwede
@@libertyv777 I think it also means that in Binondo there's favoritism or like you said they are allowing them to sell on the streets and sidewalks. I think we need to be fair not only in places like Divisoria or CM Recto but throughout Manila...
Because for decades the sidewalks were occupied by the illegal vendors so now that some sidewalks are already clear still they walk on the atreets kasi nakasanayan na. It will take time maybe before they will notice na may sidewalk na pala!
@@libertyv777 : It could be forced of habit but they should start training themselves to use the sidewalks. Much safer for them. I agree with your analysis, it will take time to get use to it. Their minds are programmed to the old habit. Hopefully they'll gradually use the supposedly walkways and not to wait till disaster happens to learn from it.

But they should not go beyond the blue lines which are already painted on the streets so the sidewalks are already occupied. That is permitted and I don't know why. It's like different rules for different streets maybe because Tabora is a side street.

The authorities don't pay much attention to people on wheelchairs in the Philippines, that's why it's very rare that you can find a building or sidewalk that is wheelchair accessible.. Maybe because once the old people can not walk they prefer to stay home. You can see very few people on wheelchairs on the streets there. Unlike here in the USA where all establishments are provided with wheelchair access.
