I love how honest he is with himself, about what he perceives were his shortcomings and limitations. It is so refreshing to listen to an artist not blinded by his ego, but with the humility to recognize what he needed to do to grow. This is truly rare and inspiring.
Firstly thanks so much Mopa!!! What an interview!? I enjoyed, unlearned, learned, resonated, reminisced, imbibed…. Thanks so much Unni sir to share his amazing experiences , insights and gentle/subtler advices here and there … too helpful thanks again 🙏 ❤🙇♀️
Very delightful to hear Sri Unnikrishnan's musical journey and what an attitude to say that "art is greater than the artist", and that "music taught me humility". To say that he must be a consummate musician. Once Sri Madurai Mani Iyer sang Kaddana vAriki and a rasika congratulated him for a beautiful rendition. Sri Mani Iyer replied that Kaddana vAriki is great; Tyagaraja is greater and Todi raga is even greater than the composer.
Unni Krishnan should have gone places. But I do not know why he did not ,in Carnatic Music, despite such a great talent. I think he was distracted by his passion in in many things like Film Music, may be cricket too which is why I think he stopped chasing excellence in Carnatic Music . Having said that I must mention an outstanding concert of U.K ,I head in Albustan Palace Hotel Auditorium in Muscat in 1996. Simply one of the most memorable ones among my collection of over 600 concerts of various artists from 1950s. My best wishes to him to enjoy what ever he likes.Very candid and honest about what he wants to share about his family and self. His daughter has made some of the most enchanting and Melodious TH-cam albums which I am sure is the out come of UKs genius. God Bless
Such an honest answers❤❤❤ One of the best Interview of my favorite Unni sir ❤❤❤ Thanks to notes to myself... Hope Unni sir will get Sangedha Kalanidhi award & Padmashri award soon...
