Hey guys, great video. Thanks for sharing. I hunt PA SGL at the border of Lackawanna and Wayne Co. I understand your frustration. What I generally do is buy the large chem lights. When I get to my spot (I just stand on a hillside) I’ll crack the green or red chem light and tack it up on the tree I’m standing by. That shows other hunters where I’m standing. Of course you can shine a flashlight as well but just another suggestion. Good luck the rest of the season. I got a decent 6-pointer on day 2. Saving my 3D doe tag for late season flintlock. 👍🏻
Hey thanks a lot, I never thought of that before, I’ll keep that in mind for next season. I’m right there with you on saving a tag for late season. It’s one of my favorite times to be out.
@@antleredpursuit-tv4634 Same here! I look forward to more of your vids. Also, I understand it’s difficult filming and hunting at the same time. I appreciate your efforts! 👍🏻 Good luck guys.
Good realistic video of public land hunting...can be frustrating, but also very rewarding at the same time! I'm a new subscriber and enjoyed the video.
Thanks man, yea it’s always a challenge, and I want to represent the reality of what I experience. As well as making it somewhat entertaining for a video
Great realistic video that captures a lot off what pa game lands are like haha . Doesn’t matter how early u get out sometimes an guys will still set up near u an not even seem to care u are 100 yards away.. doesn’t make any sense to me, especially when there are tons of woods an land but yet guys still set on top of u. I hunt gamelands in Sullivan an Bradford co an I’ve had this happen before many of times. Ive been hunting the area long enough now though that I know where most hunting pressure will be an where not as many guys will be so I usually can find good spots where I’m alone
I totally agree, that’s our mindset and has worked sometimes for us. However then others when you go for years without seeing people. You start seeing people lol thanks for comment
Hunted in Forest County for the first 8 days of gun season and only saw 8 deer. We had snow for the first 5 days, which was perfect conditions. There are very few deer.
Great video guys & Congratulations on a successful 1st day ,I hunted Westmoreland co.this year ..2nd year in row we didn't go to camp for deer .we usually hunt Northern Clearfield ,Elk ,Camoron co. What county are you guys in ?
I’ve been going to Lycoming county since 1988 pretty regular with a few years of Tioga county in there. Lycoming game lands I had hundreds of acres nobody touched but 2 other people where I seen literally 50-60 scrapes on an old trail in about 200 yards .2014 they put a gas road on then a gas pad n ruined it . But I will say deer move around to the feed . Years there is less feed my travel stands I see more deer . A lot of mast crop deer move less . It is fun figuring feet out and I have not used trail cams since 2015 . Foot power is the best scouting
Here in NC on public land it`s not too uncommon for hunters to be murdered for hunting in someone else`s spot. I was interviewed by 2 detectives in one of these cases. At the time I didn`t even know that it was a murder that I was being questioned about. After about 10 minutes of questions they must have realized I wasn`t suspect material. They got the guy about 2 weeks later...argument over a hunting spot on public land. About 10 years earlier a guy got literally blown out of his tree stand on the public land I was hunting ...for the same thing. I joined a hunt club.
It’s crazy, I filmed him bc I was going to show the warden that patrols the road to watch out for people that aren’t wearing much orange, I was running into a few
And that is why I do not hunt public land. Was on game land once and had a guy shoot at deer that were near me. I was just getting ready to take my shot and boom the deer goes down. I look up the hill and there he was behind a large tree. Never even saw him all morning. That was the end for me. I found some private land that I am aloud to hunt on as long as the owners family is not hunting. Kinda sucks but there are a lot of deer around that area. I hunt Tioga county. I'm not hunting this year due to a torn rotator cuff. But next year I will be back at it.
Hey guys new subscriber here to your channel I really enjoyed watching this video I can't wait to see more of them. Next time you see a hunter out they're not wearing Hunter orange call Department of Natural Resources on him report to safety violation.
I filmed him on my phone for that reason I also saw a truck in lot that I thought was his but didn’t hv prove, I also was going to show the wardens there’s usually few of them, wasn’t this year… at least we didn’t see any

DOWN SIDE OF PUBLIC LAND THIS YEAR...SPOKE WITH SEVERAL HUNTERS IN PARKING LOT BEFORE GOIN IN WOODS TO COMMUNICATE ON WHERE EVERYONE WAS GOING... STILL WOUND UP WITH HUNTERS NEARLY ON TOP OF ME AND CONSEQUENTLY MISSED OPPORTUNITY ON REALLY NICE BUCK...BETTER LUCK NEXT YEAR!!@
I don't hunt public period. Look for people who will let you hunt private. Occasionally trespassers try to sneak in but In Arkansas it's not tolerated.
I’m not saying I do everything perfect but the rule in pa is 250 inches between your head back and chest should be visible at all times. If the backpack gets in the way the same thing can be said for when you are sitting in a tree. Your back is covered up by the tree trunk. Going from not wearing any orange to just a hat is completely different. Just saying

Bc that’s one of the biggest reasons we walk quietly most days. You learn more walking as such than sitting for 12 hours not seeing much.
I Hunt Huntington county every year, didn't get anything, but saw a few small doe a spike buck, and over 200 squirrels lol.

With your backpacks on all you can see is you blaze orange hats.
