    The 6.0 is an expensive motor to maintain so just be prepared. before you buy it make sure it has had the coolant switched to an ELC coolant and had the oil/egr cooler changed. if you keep on top of things they are great.

    @fightman1223 Read the descripion, 19,000 lbs in the trailor, not the weight of the truck.so, weight semi+trailor+19,000lbs in trailor.

    @oney135 How can you tell how loud the truck is? It was filmed and upload on the net, how loud is it is controlled by a button or knob... 6.0L's sound A LOT choppier. That truck has a more mellow, and a lot deeper exhaust note. It sounds exactly like the 7.3L I posted.

    never drove truck past saskatchewan but I have been to nova scotia in the pickup with a car trailer about a dozen times and once when I was about 19 on a greyhound bus. I had a hard time staying awake in the prairies. what made it worse is the truck I was in was goverend to 95 kmh.
    ever notice when the wether is crappy they check paperwork and weight but on nice days they check brakes?

    Awesome truck, let's see a chevy or a dodge do that.
    For that matter, lets see any other truck do that.
    As for the 6.0, the only thing that kills them is government legislation on emmissions. The EGR cooler is bad news and it deliberately dumps heat all around the engine which caused the head gasket failures. EGR delete and ARP head studs will bulletproof the motor; check out powerstrokehelp for more info, Bill really knows his stuff.

    I hope the boy wonder isn't hooking that up to his safety chain eye. Granted thats a tiny rope, but you still need a proper tow point.
    Other than that, pretty good pull. Those look like a mud tire, I'm impressed they got that much traction.
    Although they kinda look like Baja Claws from what I can tell, and those are a darn good tire.

  • @MrChevypower

  • @cazyhorseworld
    @cazyhorseworld 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    theres the 7 should have been obvious to me. I can see where there is a thin sheet of ice on a road the studs would work better but where the trigs can dig in a good set of trigs will get more of a bite. our roads are usualy 6 - 12 inches of ice on top of the gravel by the end of the year. but even the highways can get 6 - 10 inches over night here. still ran good winter tires only a fool wouldn't.
    B.C. and western alberta the rest of the country is flat.

  • @foamybubbles79
    @foamybubbles79 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @AltEffOr
    As said before, international made it, not ford. Also the head studs are fine, assuming you keep other drive line pressures in check. Usual cause of a head gasket on the 6.0 is either a plugged oil cooler, or erg cooler. Fords shit "gold" coolant..when boiled(working hard) would let silicate out of suspension and eventually plug the tiny tubes on either or both coolers. Pressure from the plugged coolers would cause the egr to fail and let coolant into the cylinders

  • @foamybubbles79
    @foamybubbles79 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @M34nPuppyDog
    2 main reasons why Ford did that. The 7.3 was having a difficult time meeting the new emission standards being placed back in the early 2000's. Secondly, Ford wanted more power to compete with the new duramax/cummins. The 7.3 is a great motor but the hp/torque is not as easy to make and still meet emissions. The emission problem could have been solved with ceramic coating the heads, up pipes, turbo and pistons. Keep the heat in the motor and burn off the crap.

  • @cazyhorseworld
    @cazyhorseworld 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    actualy 20 driving truck years not sure where you get 7 from. unless your confused about what a 7 axel truck is. you can run all the studs you want and get no where near the traction as a set of chains. If I am wrong then so is every logger out there. when your grossed out at over 70 tonnes you learn real quick why you need chains.

  • @cazyhorseworld
    @cazyhorseworld 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    unless your going down a hill it keeps the rear axels from locking up if they lock up there useless for slowing you on ice. also if they lock up it ices the road up for the next guy. I drove off road logging for 5 years and have had chains on both drivers two trailer axel and one on my steering axel. 7 axel unit long logs tandem jeep.

    Ahh I find all these videos funny... why? SNOW IS SMOOTH, SLICK, WILL REDUCE FRICTION! ANY PICKUP WITH THE RIGHT TIRES OF ANY MAKE WITH 4 WHEEL DRIVE WILL DO THE JOB! Oh wait was the drive tires of the semi (all 8) driving "helping the pick up"? LOL What? why do I do all this? Well I have been a truck driver for 15+ yrs....

  • @Timberlinetown
    @Timberlinetown 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    This is not 100% true because if you pause it at 0:36 you can easily see the reverse lights on the cab of the semi which would mean that he was helping by trying to move in reverse at the same time. So in all the Ford really wasn't pulling the entire weight of that truck and the load.

  • @WowMike2002
    @WowMike2002 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    @brizzlefizzle I was thinkin the same thing - ive got 2 lengths of thick 1/2" chain, and a big 30' 3" snatch strap.. and if I ever tow anyone out with the chain I always wrap it with the strap so itll sag down if it snaps - would hate to cause damage to anyone or anything just from a simple break!

  • @04FORDPSD
    @04FORDPSD 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    hell yeah! I've have my 6.0 in front of a semi needin help! the guy didn't sound convinced that I could get him up the hill in a blizzard in Utah. I proved him wrong, he couldn't stop laughing. I bet as soon as he dropped his load off he went and bought one

  • @MrCraigmire123

    ----------------------------------
    I could be wrong but weren't 6.0s only optional in 2003? 2004 it was srd diesel engine and the 7.3s were dropped due to emissions etc...

  • @gcso401
    @gcso401 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    you can tell it was a new driver of the semi cause he chained up his trailer tires. for the record chaining up your trailer tires does absolutely nothing for traction.

  • @account4info
    @account4info 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @Richierich1285 many states require drag chains when chains are required. ca, or, wa, and co are a few examples. Expensive fine running without them.
