Holy frick I overall didn't feel too moved by this arrangement and generally prefer the Passacaglia one, but damn that end from 7:08 was so apotheotic I even felt like it totally deserved a picardy cadence at the end instead of in one of the middle variations.
It’s the same Handel’s sarabande is la folia Because la folia is a sarabande (it’s name in French is “folies d’Espagne”, and sarabandes came to Europe through Spain, so it’s only natural that this theme be a sarabande. Hence justifying calling what is actually la folia “sarabande”)
@@rifcafcaf2391 He wrote another piece, Variations on an Air (op. 98), but I believe it's been lost. At least I couldn't find anything more about it on the internet.
Josef Spacek and Maté Szucs 😊 I listen to them sooooo many times !
Andante lento: 0:00
Allegro: 1:57
Allegro molto: 3:09
Lento: 3:40
Allegro moderato: 5:37
Presto: 6:38
Maestro: 7:12
Man, I'd only change two notes in this piece. This is amazing, and much better than the passacaglia
which two?
Came here immediately after watching Barry Lyndon. But this Halvorsen duet, in my opinion, is even better than the Passacaglia.
I agree

Beautifully melancholic 😢 💔 🫠
WHY HAVEN'T YOU PUT THE ARTISTS' NAMES? Crazy these days how someone can just steal your work and then not even credit you.
@@N____erthey mean the performers who played the piece, obviously handel himself couldn’t have performed this…
@@N____erplus it's not even Handel who wrote this piece
@@moieye03oh really? Then… who?
@@clasesparticulares3144 Johan Halvorsen, if u missed it for some reason. He just used the theme by Handel
