Everyone wanted to be Owen when I was growing up. Michael Owen was a finisher in its natural form . Left and right foot and was incredibly fast and even though he wasn’t the tallest. He had a good leap and would get a lot of headed goals. If Owen was in front of goal 10/10 he’s putting the ball in the net. Can never usually that with any striker but with Owen you could. Ice cold in front of goal. He doesn’t get the respect he deserves I think tbh. It’s a shame.
Owen before his injuries was a machine. SO damn fast and surprisingly good with his head as well. Could out jump defenders far taller than he was. Fowler, and Owen after him, kept Liverpool competitive for 10+ years during the 90s and into the early 00s ... We were lucky to have them both.
Owen and Ronaldo (R9) are the two biggest “What if”s?” that I can think of. Their careers playing with one leg are better than 99.9% of footballers. Imagine if they had injury records like Messi or Cristiano? They would have blown everyone away
Owen much less so. He did have some recurring injury issues at Liverpool, sure, but he did still average 43 games a season for the first 8 seasons of his career. We have a pretty solid idea of the level he could've hit tbh, because It wasn't until December 31st 2005 when his career started to fully fall apart, and he was 26 at that point (426 career games). R9 on the other hand had his max potential fully finished at 23 (290 career games) but...had already had a serious season ending knee injury BEFORE that at PSV when he was 18
It’s a joke how little 20 somethings understand how good he was when he burst on the scene but in what high regard Rooney is held in by comparison.Owen before injuries had everyone asking just how good could this kid actually be?Are there any limits? After the 98 World Cup he had backlines terrified to pass the ball when he pressed them he closed down that quick.People rave about mbappe but there was similar excitement about young Owen
I m not quite sure, but he starts his career brilliant the firs two or three years. However, some time after WC 98, he started to suffer with injuries and he suffered a very serious injury that kept him aside the court for many months. When he returned played well and keep scoring goals but not in an outstanding way that he used to play before his injury, when the best teams of Italy and Spain wanted to sign him. In 2004 , surprisingly, Florentino Pérez signed him due to a nostalgic memory of his prior performances and for marketing reasons
He mistake is leaving Liverpool. If he not leaving. Torres/Owen/Xavi/Gerrard maybe they will win Premier League. Great Striker but injuries. So sad. Same situation like Sturridge.
I lost all respect for him when it came too his gambling problem, all the money he made as an brilliant footballer, he's an complete disgrace and messed him self up.
Rocky G So? He hurt only himself doing this. He didnt cheat his wife or made offensive comments on or of the pitch about other players/clubs, didnt hurt anyone on the pitch, only 1 red card during entire career. Humble man, there is few like him.

Own never failed to impress. He remains my all-time favourite footballer.
after Gerrard
Mike Rourke how can you tell him his own favourite footballer 😂
@@aidens8052 😂😂😂
You might want to spell his name correctly if thats the case
@@ashleygaden1175 Oops, that's a typo which I did not catch. Yes, it's Owen.
What a star, he burnt all his fuel in a relatively short space of time but boy he shone bright.
His goal against Argentina at France 98 is still the best I've seen an England player score.
Great goal ! Too fast for Ayala
El Santia most individual. Easy

His pace pre injuries was frightening. Couple that with a low centre of gravity and superb balance: he was pretty much unplayable
The Golden boy.
The golden boy is wayne rooney
The girl
@@kkkr9757 😂
@@marwanhisham233 No it isn't. Owen won a balon d'or. Pooney never did
Liverpool always have a phenomenal striker
Good point
After Suarez leaving? And Bobby's arrive?
Torres is still my favourite😢❤...
@@celopistolero3987 Sturridge was there, just injured...
ya, but like u said his injuries.. without that he would a have maybe a better scoring rate than Salah n Suarez together..... But he hasn't....
That goal vs Sl Benfica was just absolutely insane 🔥
He was the player everyone wanted to be 👑
He is the reason why i want to be liverpool fan when i was a kid
Спасибо брат Георгий за такое видео! Фаулер и Джеррард тоже достойны топ 10 голов за Ливерпуль)
Football videos with music over the top should be banned.
I want to hear the commentary, the crowd and the celebrations. That'a all part of football.
Well said.
Agree 100
Agreed it drives you to distraction very annoying
Nah, its good in most videos in my opinion
The great Michael Owen , prolific scorer and finisher.

When the chips were down Owen was the best English striker I've seen live. Unplayable on his day and cool as ice.

NO Nooo no chance. Not even close.
MARVELLOUS Marv Owen. Fowler was mediocre at the international level.
@@marvellousmarv9050 Fowler playing for England.. wait a second. Not even close, Owen was 2 times better ;)
Fowler was mainly a poacher. Owen was the English Il Fenomeno.
Commentry instead of this bg music would've been way better!
I can't forgive him that he played for ManU
If he would hav stayed in liverpool he also would hav won world cup for England and ucl n many other cups.... Sad to see talent half wasted..
