2 plays into the first duel I just watched sam crash mystic tomato, followed by newdoria into a card with 3500ATK, forcing himself to lose cards in his hand - when he could have quite literally just set the tomato face down and got the same result without losing all those lifepoints and cards? jesus christ the second hand embarrassment I just got.
Hey guys cut Sam some slack, after all, Rhyme, you made a play against Doto a while back with tribe infecting virus, calling Aqua and blowing up your own card 😂😂😂
Crashing into White magical hat twice, losing 3 cards from your hand (as well as half your life points) and then talking about wasting resources is insane.
One thing I will always respect about Rhyme is his instant shit talk the momentum swings in his favour. He knows that lucks not always on his side so talking shit when he can is the best choice LMAO
If Gravity Bind is a sign of "skill" we can see Sam hang out with all floodgate/stun decks all day and I'd bet he'd still complain and then say it isn't skillful gameplay.
I'm fully on the side of building decks with viewer consideration. love seeing a weird pile of cards get thrown together and witnessing the random cool synergies or combos that end up happening. the back-and-forth. interactions you normally wouldn't see. can't really have a lot of that when, well, you know...
Rhyms vid ALWAYS send me down foggy memory lane. I love the background music but takes me so long to remember where it's from. I'm pretty sure the deck building song is from marvel vs Capcom 2 game.... ugh off to search I go! Love tour stuff Rhym!
Rhyme definitely skipped GX😅. Ra got it's own episode in GX called: Ra,Ra,Ra! The gods were also sealed for continuity to his beloved original anime and gave their names to the three dorms. Heck there was even a poster of Slifer in the red dorm that Cyrus Truesdale prayed to for his successful promotion to Ra yellow, while wearing a crown of monster reborn cards.😅 The gods had plenty of presence in GX despite being long sealed for Atem to move on prior. Yugi's battle city deck even makes an appearance in the hands of copycat duelist Dimitri. The old anime had plenty of fan service in GX, you just actually had to look and listen carefully.😅
@@rhymestyle the point being missed in regards to the Ra episode is that a false body conjured the REAL spirit of the God. Pegasus himself says so. Pegasus is a gen 1 character so you should be happy to see him successfully recreate a god card in the future and the new protagonist gets to wield it. Like Yugi did. You said you wanted to see the gods in GX and one got through Ra.
So I will always love the original yugioh, however gx holds a special place in my heart! My nan who unfortunately passed from cancer used to watch it with me, every morning before I go to school I would have cereal and chuck on some yugioh gx! My nan never really understood what it was and neither did I the monsters just looked awesome, for me gx is slightly better just because of the nostalgia
I actually think its funny and entertaining that Sam picks Gravity Bind and other floods it adds a dynamic to these draft duela and is great for his personality and the Meme of him trolling you with Gravity bind
I've grown with yugioh dm, at that time, the company didnt know exactly how to make the game as we all know, but imagine HOW GOOD it would be making yugi outsmart everyone with chainblocks and loops
Duel monster as a 6 year old and holding Pegasus’ sealed perfect condition deck in my hands. The smell of the freshly cracked cards and learning how to duel with my dad while traveling. Duel monsters is the BEST Dino
If you are playing old school yugioh it is all about the 1 or 2 card set then pass turn, because the card combos are not there. Compared to the massive 25 card first turn cards combos there is in the current decks
"You nerf me by adding two bricks in my hand" that what fun about goat sam. Plus this is coming from the same guy who made the rule of you have to win with your boss monster on the field, and both still plays gravity bind and area b
I grew up with Zexal, and was it great… maybe not the greatest but the moments with Yuma and astral will always stay with me. Also the theme songs were gas.
i grew up kinda watching yugioh duel monsters, but never watched it in its entirety, then i watched gx in full and it's always gonna have a special place in my heart, ESPECIALLY season 4 jaden. but my favorite yugioh is actually vrains, revolver (varis in dub) is just too hype
Sam not reading his own cards, really has me asking so many questions about what he's actually seeing. Like, bro, i don't know if this was a bit or not but you clearly say with your own eyes that that is not the case, lmao
I'm perfectly fine with Royal Decree, it's like having mirage dragon or jinzo on the field. Magic cylinder, torrential, and sakuretsu being a constant threats also can bring the duel to a crawl if your opponent is actively trying to play around them so gravity bind is only an issue in these fuels if there's no counter play to it imo.
I grew up with original and 5ds and still 5ds is my favorite series but I watched gx a few years back and I hate to admit it but gx actually goated it’s hard to rank it above original yugioh because of the nostalgia but gx is up there
I think rhymes right to an extent the level of play and back and forth excitement but there are also moments where it’s a complete Domination based on who got lucky and who didn’t but i think gravity bind and royal decree was a sick call because it leaves you wonder can he get out of this ohhh that’s crazy it requires specific moments which are cool so it’s like half and half
Well that’s all the YGO anime really was if you think about it. The pharaoh sacked his way through every single win. It’s all about drawing those power cards and setting up your board then making your opponent play into them, but floods essentially takes a whole chunk of the game OUT. When it’s a flood situation, you shut your opponent out so you can set up your win then it’s just one sided. Now in a normal format, you can prepare for it and just draw the out but in drafting you don’t get to draw the back row removal cuz you never had it to begin with. Thats why I think it makes it uninteresting However I will also say in this situation, it def was funny.

Sam ONLY knows how to be a villain, and not the main villain either. A sidequest villain LUL

GX is like a balance of the original and 5ds.
I think floodgates like gravity bind are fine as long as 20 cards in your deck can remove backrow xDDD which is so fun for us to watch hehehe
Tbh it’s not as bad if you can build a deck without restrictions. I just think in a draft mode where you could get zero back removal it’s not healthy
