The basic rules: Once u catch the ball, the play is alive until ur knee hits the ground. Once your knees touch the ground the play is over and the ball is placed at the spot that ur knee touched the ground on the preivious play. U have 4 plays to get a first down which is every 10 yards and if you do u get a new set of 4 downs. The players are celebrating even if they dont score because they moved the ball much closer to the touchdown
A Touchdown is when a team (doesn’t matter if offense or defense) gets into the end zone, and that gets the team 6 points, and after every touchdown, they kick a extra point Which is when the ball goes in between the yellow poles. Also if a team doesn’t end up getting a touchdown, if they’re close enough, they can kick a field goal, which is the same thing as an extra point, but farther (where they left off) and worth 3 points.
goes in between the yellow poles, and if a team doesn’t end up getting the touchdown, if they’re close enough, they can kick a field goal ( where they left off, they can kick it in between the yellow poles for 3 points instead)
Once your knee or forearm touches the ground the play is over or if you miss the catch. If you catch it and nobody touches you but your on the ground you can get back up and keep running the play is only over if someone on the other team forces you down or they touch you while your falling or while your down. The getting back up and running doesn't apply to high school football.
“You don’t even have to touch it down for a touchdown” I’ve played an entire season of both football and rugby and I’ve never thought about that but for some reason that’s hilarious to me 😂
a yellow flag is thrown when a penalty has happened. In the odell play when the ref threw a flag, the defender kept grabbing his arm so he couldn't use both hands, resulting in a "pass interference" which is 15 yards BUT, since he made the catch, they declined it and kept the touchdown for 6 points :)

11:43 in football you have 4 tries to get 10 yards down the field or more. If you do you get past 10 yards it resets. For a team to score they keep moving down field by getting past 10 yards every time and eventually into the end zone.
Basic Overview- The Offense's goal is to get the ball into the endzone, they do this by a set of 4 plays, there is a first, second, third, and fourth down, in each of those 4 downs you need to get at least 10 yards, if you get the 10 yards you get a new set of 4 downs. You can either pass the ball where if the reciever catches it they may run until they are considered down, or they can hand the ball off, were they run until they are down. You are considered down if your knee, butt, or elbows are on the ground and you are touched by a defender, or if you go out oof bounds. The offense get points by either kicking a field goal for 3 points or scoring a touchdown for 6 ponts. After the 6 points you can go for a 2 point normal play close to the goal line, or for 1 point by kicking a close field goal. The Defenses goal is to stop the other team from soring in any way, they can do this by either focing a fumble, by ripping the ball from the other team's arms and recovering it, buy intercepting it, or by forcing the other team to turn over on downs, basically stoping the other team from getting all 10 yards for a first down. Most offenses also punt on fourth down, which means they kick the ball down the field instead of not getting the first down, this makes the distance the other team needs to go much longer. Finally, the flags are penalties, if you do something that interfiers with the game to much you are penalized for it, for example in the OBJ clip the defender is clearly holding is jersey, basically pulling him away from the ball.
I think the best comprehensive explanation for your questions would be this. There’s two end zones on each side of the field 100 yards away, and all you have to do is get the ball in the end zone in someone’s hands for 6 points. You run plays, such as a pass or run to get closer, and when you get tackled, aka your knee is on the ground and you get touched. The ball stops there and you get another play. That’s why the interception he stopped was because he fell and got touched
11:32 they dont get points there, the player celebrates because he just made a big play for a lot of yards. his team is a lot closer to the end zone now to try and get a touchdown!
Ball carrier gets tackled and they are down. The team then has 40 seconds to get the ball set and snap the ball from the downed spot of the last play. You get 4 downs to pass the first down mark which starts at 10 yards on first down. If a team fails to convert on 4th down the other team can take possession of the ball where they down the other team at. If a team don’t feel they can get the first they can punt the ball, kicking the ball to the other team. If a team goes to the opponents end zone they get 6 points, and 1 for extra point. They could also kick a field goal which is also used when you cannot get a first down(10 yards). If you get tackled in your own end zone you concede two pints as long as giving them the ball back. Many of these plays were game winning and important games, so it probably wasn’t the best for your first.
If you catch it or run it into the endzone (colored boxes at the end of the field on each side) it counts as 6 points. You can kick it for an extra point or do another pass or run for 2 points
Also it’s not like rugby where you have to touch the ball to the ground to score, as long as it breaks the plane of the goal line and someone has possession it’s a touchdown and counts
an interception is when the defender catches the ball instead of the receiver. a interception means the other gets the ball back or the defender can run it back for a touchdown. if he goes down or gets tackled then the play is over and the other teams offense gets the ball
15:14 the play stopped because the defender who intercepted the pass was ruled "down" by contact. You see the receiver put both arms on him as he caught the ball on the ground. That is considered a tackle. Now had the defend caught the ball and remained on his feet he can absolutely run it back.
In college football, once a ball carrier goes the ground, the play is over. In the NFL , the ball carrier has to be touched or touched to cause the carrier to the ground. The play is also over if the carrier goes out of the field of play ( no touching is necessary ). A ball carrier does not have to touch the ball on the ground to score. If you think you can play, every team has open try outs. Pick a camp and go. Many people think they can be NFL players and quickly find out that every NFL player is a world class athlete.
There are so many rules it's kind of hard to keep up. Basically the offense (with the ball) tries to score a touchdown by either throwing or running the ball. You have 4 "downs" (attempts) to get 10 yards, and after that 10 yards you get an extra 4 downs. The play stops when the player with the ball is tackled or touched and their knee/elbow touches the ground. All it takes to score a touchdown is the ball has to cross the "plane" which is the first white line at the end zone. Each touchdown is worth 6 points and then the kicker has a chance to kick it through the uprights for an extra point after the touchdown. If the offense doesn't score a touchdown, they can kick a field goal if they are within kicking range (most kickers can kick the ball 50+ yards). If the defense intercepts the ball and gets touched or hits the ground, the play is over but the other team gets the ball. If the defense forces the offense to drop the ball while they are running with it, that is a fumble, but the offense can still recover the fumble if they jump on the ball first. Also, there are no points for catching the ball, the only points come from field goals and touchdowns A lot of rules, I know.
When you intercept a catch, if you were not touched even the slightest bit by the receiver or anyone on offense, you are "down" and the play is dead. If he's not touched, he can get back up and run. But, when the play is dead and hes "down", his offense can now come out and have a chance to score and the other teams defense comes out.
I love your honesty... the fact you dope cap about shit you don't know is very rare... Keep doing you keep grinding you're doing amazing and have incredible content!!!
Rugby and gridiron football were the same sport around 150 years ago. One evolved with interrupted forward play and specialized players, and one evolved with continuous plays and more general roles, and homogenous motion (no forward passing, everyone's going the same direction in general). It shows sometimes; in gridiron football, you can only make a forward pass once and from behind the line of scrimmage, but passing backwards is unlimited *and* the ball is allowed to hit the ground. Sound a little more familiar? It would happen more often than it does but the opposing 'flow' of the defense can do what a rugby defender can't.... hit you head on and pound you into the turf, and that happens a LOT when rugby style lateral/reverse plays happen.
Once you get the ball you can't touch the floor with your knees and the ball can't touch the floor, so when you catch a really far pass it's a good play but not a score, a Touchdown is worth 6 points, when refs throw a flag it means something happened in the play like the defense may have pushed the offensive team or the offensive team may have done something that isn't allowed. And if you hit someone hard enough for them to drop the ball it's a "Fumble", and for it to be a Touchdown the ball just has to get passed the cone
20:53 If the conditions are good for it, the interceptor can run it in for a touchdown. That move is called a pick six, when the ball gets intercepted by the defense and it's taken in for a 6-pointer TD. Basically, the injury upon the insult for the offense.
this is how the scoring works A touchdown is worth six points, and is scored when a team crosses the opposition's goal line with the ball, or catches or collects the ball in the end zone. A Field goal is worth three points. Field goals are usually attempted on fourth down if the kicker is close enough to the end zone to kick the ball through the posts. An extra point is earned by kicking the ball through the uprights after a touchdown. The team can go for two points by taking the ball into the end zone again. Two points is awarded to the defensive team for a safety when a member of the offensive team is tackled with the ball in his own end zone.
When someone gets an interception and doesn't run it back is because they were touched by the opposing team while on the ground which means your downed and the play is now dead/over, or the person who intercepted it can give themselves up by going to the ground on their own which makes the play dead/over.
Overview - in a game of American football, the goal is to score points by getting the ball into the other team's end zone. The team with the ball is called the offense. The leader of the offense is the quarterback. Before each play, the quarterback gets the team into position. Once the ball is snapped, he can hand it off to his running back, he can keep the ball and run, or the quarterback can throw the ball down the field to one of his receivers. The job of the offense is to outsmart and outrun the defense. The job of the defense is to tackle the player with the ball. When the offense scores, it's called a touchdown. It gives the team 6 points. After a touchdown, the offense can play it safe by kicking the ball between the posts for 1 extra point or they can go for a risky 2 points by taking the ball into the end zone again. Teams can also score by kicking the ball between the posts of the Y-shaped field goal in the end zone. This is called kicking a field goal; field goals are worth 3 points. Penalties - holding is the illegal grabbing of a player who is not in possession of the football in order to gain advantage. Delay of game occurs when the offense fails to snap the ball before the play clock runs out. Encroachment is when a defensive player illegally crosses the line of scrimmage and makes contact with an opponent or has a clear path to the quarterback. Facemask is grasping the facemask of another player while attempting to block or tackle. False start is when an offensive player illegally moves after lining up for, but prior to, the snap. Illegal contact is making significant contact with a receiver after the receiver has advanced 5 yards beyond the line of scrimmage. Illegal formation is when fewer than 7 players line up on the line of scrimmage. An illegal forward pass is a forward pass thrown from past the line of scrimmage. Illegal hands to the face is pushing or hitting a player on offense in the head or helmet. Illegal motion is a player in motion is moving forward at the time of the snap. Too many players is when 12 players participate during the play. Illegal shift is when a player is not in motion but is not set before the snap. Illegal substitution is when the offense has 12 or more players in the huddle. Ineligible receiver downfield is when an ineligible receiver is past the line of scrimmage prior to a forward pass. Intentional grounding is a forward pass that is thrown intentionally incomplete so that the passer avoids loss of yardage or to conserve time. Neutral zone infraction is when a defensive player jumps into the neutral zone before the snap and "startles" an offensive player, causing him to false start. Offside is when a player is on the wrong side of the line of scrimmage (or in the neutral zone) when the ball is snapped. Pass interference is when a defensive player interferes with a receiver's ability to catch the ball. Roughing the passer is when a defender continues an effort to tackle or "hit" a passer after the passer has already thrown a pass. Roughing the kicker is when a defender tackles or otherwise runs into the kicker in a way that might injure the kicker or his vulnerable extended kicking leg. Targeting is when a defensive player tackles with the crown of his helmet.
15:06 - if you intercept or catch a pass but you're touched by an opposing player when you're on the ground, the plays dead, and you can't advance the ball. If the receiver(player in White) didn't touch him the he could get up and start running. Check out the NFL player Ed Reed when you get a chance. He was incredible for returning interceptions for a Touchdowns(referred to as a Pick-6)
At the beginning of every game, there is a kick off. Basically you have to kick off to the other team to start the game (12:19). As soon as you touch the ball, even catching it, the kicking team will come for the ball. So if they know they arent going to catch it they have to be careful and not let the ball touch them bc the kicking team can pick up the ball (you hear the announcer say its a "live ball")
18:49 - the reason that was a big play was because it was the Super Bowl, the Seahawks(team in Blue) were on the the verge of scoring the winning Touchdown with no time left, and the Patriots(team in White) intercepted to guarantee a Super Bowl victory.
at 19:10 what happened was that it was the championship there was 20 seconds left and if the other team scored they would've lost but he intercepted it right before they could score so he saved the game and they won.
11:43 - Not every big play is a Touchdown, and 95% of the time, an offense needs several plays in succession to get in position to score a Touchdown or Field Goal. Those end to end 1 play Touchdowns are extremely rare. What was amazing about that play was that the Eagles (team in Green) Quarterback was almost tackled for a loss, but scrambled out of trouble, completed an incredible pass on the run to his receiver. Now the Eagles have the ball deep in their opponents(the Cowboys) territory close to their goal line. So the Eagles are only about 10 yards away from a Touchdown instead of 60 or 70.
18:51 play is stopped because the defensive player who intercepted the ball fell on the ground. the player does this because he doesn't want to risk another turnover so that the other team could score. it was especially important since his team was winning and the game was down to the wire.
A play is not ONLY significant if you score. Any play that gains a bunch of yards, or a play that stops a big gain of yards is worth celebrating. Football is a game of chess, not so much checkers. Every little thing can be a key part to winning. Little plays matter and big plays matter.
The game is played using imperial measurements. The playing field is 100 yards. 120 including the ENDZONES. The object of the game is to advance the ball to scoring section of the field called the ENDZONE. A player thats advances a ball into the ENDZONE is called a TOUCHDOWN and worth 6 points. From there the team has the option for a FIELDGOAL for 1 point or another TOUCHDOWN for 2 points known as a 2 POINT CONVERSION. Mostly the former is chosen as its the more safer play. SAFTEY: When a player with a ball is tackled in the ENDZONE behind the OFFENSIVE LINE. Worth 2 points to the DEFENSIVE TEAM. A team with possesion of the ball (OFFENSE) gets four plays, called DOWNS, to advance the ball. If a team advances 10 yards from the initial starting position, they get a new fresh set of DOWNS. While possession of the ball the OFFENSE has these options: PASS or a RUN: They are what they sound like, While the opposing team (DEFENSE) must stop them. FIELD GOAL(NO TOWNDOWN): To kick the ball between the yellow goalpost(UPRIGHTS). Worth 3 points. PUNT: Sending the ball as downrange to the other as much possible without it landing in the ENDZONE. More on kicks later. Any of these maneuvers can be done at anytime but must cost a down to perform. The OFFENSE may lose the ball to the DEFENSE in several ways: A FUMBLE: When the player with the ball drops it midplay and a DEFENSIVE player picks up (RECOVERS) the ball. INTERCEPTION: A DEFENSIVE player catches the ball from the OFFENSIVE PASS. LOSS OF POSSESSION ON DOWNS: Failure to advance the ball 10+ yards within a set of downs. PUNT: Already explained TYPE OF KICKS: KICKOFF: A kick that starts a game, 2nd half or after scoring points PUNT: see above FIELD GOAL: see above ONSIDE KICK: A high risk, high reward maneuver to keep possession of the ball. It must be done in a specific manner to be legal. SAFETY KICK: A kick that must be performed after a SAFTEY has occurred. SAFETIES are punishing.
All you have to do to score a touchdown is be in the end-zone with the ball in your hands, whether your on your feet or not. You don't ever put the ball on the ground during a play lmao 😂
He's basing his knowledge off rugby. In rugby, the player needs to touch the ball to the ground in the end zone in order to score points. This rule also applied to American football when it was invented, hence why it is called a touchdown (ball has to be touched down). Over time, this rule was removed but the name stood.
you have 4 downs to get 10 yards which is a first down. if you don’t get it in 3 downs, teams will most likely punt the ball or kick a field goal and if u make a field goal it’s worth 3 points. If you end up getting a first down, the downs reset and you have 4 more downs. Once the ball reaches over the line, it is a touchdown which is 6 points, and if you make the extra point after the touchdown ( it’s a short field goal) then you get an extra point. Flags are thrown mainly if a defender gets too aggressive on the wide receiver or if an offensive player holds a defensive player from behind to stop him from getting to the quarterback. there are many more flags but those are the most common. you don’t get any points if you make a long pass and it’s not in the end zone, they just get happy because they either got a first down or they’re getting closer to the end zone. if a defender catches the ball then it’s an interception and their team will then go to offense.
i meant to say if the ball crosses the end zone line then it is a touchdown. the end zone line is at each side of the field and it’s between the orange pylons or cones. the player has to have 2 feet in the end zone ( within all 4 cones surrounding it ) while they have the ball completely secured in order for it to be a touchdown
You have to be in the end zone(the box) to score a point it’s called a “touchdown”. Touch downs are 6 points and you can kick the ball through the Field post for 1 point 15 yards away or try and score another touchdown worth 2 points from 2 yards away
Everything I'm about to describe is predicate on whether the guy with the ball is a receiver or a runner. A receiver, obviously, has just caught the ball. He has to control the ball and make a few steps before he's converted to a runner. If you're handed the ball, you're a runner from the beginning of the play. A receiver can catch the ball and make any contact with the ground EXCEPT the ball, and the play is still live UNLESS he is down and an opponent is touching him ("Down by contact"). A runner can only touch his hands and feet to the ground, otherwise the play is dead at the point of that ground contact, which is where the next play starts. So as in that one play, the ball (thrown by team A's offense) was intercepted by team B's defense but the receiver was off balance and went to the ground with the ball, in contact with his opponent behind him. That's a fair catch but is dead at the point of downing, and is still a turnover. The field is flipped and B is in possession and running offense now, with A in defense, at that location. The last interception in the end zone, you have to watch three things; one, he's intercepted the ball and is still in the end zone and is in danger of getting a Safety. If you're downed in your own end zone, the other team gets two points. Two, there are twenty seconds left in the game and the team that just intercepted was up 4 points... all they have to do is run the clock out and they've won. Three, he knew all this and basically just lunged out of the end zone onto the field to be downed and cement that game-winning turnover, it's all that was needed. There are basic rules and then there are realities. The deal with gridiron football is that there are so many possible things you can arrange, so many plays you can call, and only a handful are ever going to work on either side.... but that doesn't prevent them from trying! About 2-3 pages of the official rulebook will have you following a game in good detail, but it's the remaining 197 pages that get the football nerds (like me) excited, and they DO show up.
They don' t always catch the ball in the end zone they catch the ball everywhere on the field. Because they want to get closer to the end zone. Because where the ball hits the ground is where the next play is. So the closer they get to the end zone the easier it is to get a touchdown.
If there is contact during the interception and the defender falls on the ground they’re ruled down. The offense then comes out, replacing the defense, after the play is called dead.
A interception is basically like you taking the chance for the other team to score a touchdown..it’s a even better interception when the team is close to scoring 6 points and taking it away from them
18:43 was the Super Bowl and the Seahawks were about to score and win the game with the clock running down to the end. They have a very talented running back Marshawn Lynch and everyone expects a handoff to him to win the game. Instead they throw an interception to the Patriots who come down with it and now have possession of the ball so they can keep their lead and run the rest of the time down on the clock for the win
11:31 When a team has the ball they have 4 attempts to move the ball 10 yards down the field. but you want to get the ball as close to the end as possible where best case scenario you get the touchdown. If you can't you can try to get close enough for the field goal kick. A huge pass like that? Huge. Look at all the space they got down the field. Then from the place where the guy caught and went down your number of attempts to move the ball resets and you get 4 attempts to move the ball another 10 yards. So, he didnt get the touchdown but moving the ball down that far is big.
So the team with the ball has 4 downs to get a first down which resets the 4 downs. If the person with the ball hits the ground by getting tackled(not counting hands) they are down. To score points if you get into the end zone aka a touchdown that is 6 points and you can kick a extra point giving you a total of 7 or you can go for two and run another play. The flag means the was a penalty on they play for example there was pass interference on the play with OBJ. Hope this helps a little
Touchdown is 6 points. Then they can either gor the kick for 1 points . Or run another play for 2 points .. there is 4 downs , usually on 4th down you kick a punt or you go for a 3 pt field goal which is also kicking
11:48 they couldn’t run to the end zone to score a touchdown because he was “down by contact” when a player is down or down by contact the play is over. A player is either down if his knee touches the ground or if his knee doesn’t touch the ground but someone else touch’s him (it could be a little tap) while he’s on the ground then that’s “down by contact” and the play is over. You don’t earn any points for that you are just closer to scoring
Just think of it like this don't think like it is complicated. If a player catches or runs the ball the defender wants to tackle him to stop the play. Each team can only score if the ball if ran with a player into the endzone or is caught in the endzone resulting in a touchdown.
As long as the knee doesn’t touch the ground before the goal line , the ball only has to cross the goal line for them to score. They do not have to touch the ground like rugby with it.
I love seeing foreign people watch football and they think the hits are hard and everything and dangerous but americans just watch it like normal and love the hitting as part of the game
A touchdown is when a player runs into the end zone that they are facing, they don’t have to actually touch the ground with the ball as long as the ball crosses the end zone.
There is a down system which means that u have to go at least 10 yards in 4 plays, after getting past the 10 yards the system restarts. There is no need to score every play as long as u keep the ball moving towards the end zone and get a first down
Think of football as chess/war. Each team has 4 tries to gain more position than their opposition. If they don't do it after 4 tries to pass a certain yard mark they either have to kick it as far away from their zone or risk it and go for one more try. If they fail to pass the yard mark they let their opposition start from where they left.
I enjoy these videos because I always wonder what foreigners thought of American culture. I've read a lot of mixed things about what they thought, so seeing that you actually dig it is pretty cool
The yellow flag is thrown when there's a penalty. Similar to a yellow card in football, but they usually let the play "play out" before they announce they penalty or penalize them for it depending on what penalty occured
Each team is defending an end zone or the colored in chuck at the end of the field every quarter. After every quarter they flip sides and if you are on offense you need to maintain possession into the end zone. If you are defense you wanna stop them from doing so. Simplest way to put it, love your content man keep grinding!
When he intercepted it he was down so the play stopped and when the other guy intercepted it he was still up the play was still going so he could run it back
Everytime you catch the ball that’s where the whole team lines up for another play and if the team can’t get 10 yards every 4 plays it’s the other teams ball and if they catch or run in the touchdown it’s 6 points and 1 more point if they make the kick in the Y thing and it goes the same for the other team
When they throw a flag it’s for a penalty with the one on obj it was defensive pass interference which means the defender was holding his arm down in that case
Every 10 yards your downs reset you have 4 downs usually on the 4 down you punt/kick it in the goal post points vary from 1/2/3 and touchdowns are when you get it in the endzone witch point vary from 6/7 and the fouls are flags I dont actually know much about football except this oh and the ball cant touch the groung🙃
Run and pass plays can only be 99 yards max because you can't start the play in your own endzone. On a kick return or interception you can get the ball in your own endzone so technically the longest possible touchdown would be 109yards with the endzone being ten yards it's self.
A touchdown is when u hit the box at the end of the field and there is two boxes at the end of the field one team with the ball has four tries to make it to the end of the field in to the box in those four tries the other team could steal the ball aka interception
btw the last clip where he intercepted it on the line was actually in the super bowl which is footballs championship game so he legit won the league for them with that interception
The reason they are both called Football is because when the Americans established their freedom the game (which was more like rugby at the time) changed into the 2 different games that we call football today.
If the ball is intercepted and the person is touched while they’re on the ground they can’t run anymore they are down by contact it’s the same for receivers so if they fall and the person on the other team even touches them they can’t run anymore
To get a touchdown, aka to get 6 points, you need to get the ball across the white line aka the goal line with full possession of the football and without a knee, elbow, or buttocks touching the ground, and while all body parts are staying inside the wide white lines on the sides of the field
If the other team intercepted the ball and falls on the floor and gets touched while on the floor than it’s down but if you caught it while standing or fell and didn’t get touched than you can run with the ball

Fun fact: The foot part in football is referring to the measurement of the ball not the body part!
Yeah but then stop measuring in feet and use the metric system

I think the best comprehensive explanation for your questions would be this. There’s two end zones on each side of the field 100 yards away, and all you have to do is get the ball in the end zone in someone’s hands for 6 points. You run plays, such as a pass or run to get closer, and when you get tackled, aka your knee is on the ground and you get touched. The ball stops there and you get another play. That’s why the interception he stopped was because he fell and got touched

11:32 they dont get points there, the player celebrates because he just made a big play for a lot of yards. his team is a lot closer to the end zone now to try and get a touchdown!
React to biggest NFL hits of all time
Ball carrier gets tackled and they are down.
React to the NFL hardest hits of all time
15:14 the play stopped because the defender who intercepted the pass was ruled "down" by contact.
Also, there are no points for catching the ball, the only points come from field goals and touchdowns
A lot of rules, I know.
You should do "Hardest hits" "Best celebrations" and maybe mic'd up
When you intercept a catch, if you were not touched even the slightest bit by the receiver or anyone on offense, you are "down" and the play is dead.
Thanks bro🙏🏻💯

20:53 If the conditions are good for it, the interceptor can run it in for a touchdown. That move is called a pick six, when the ball gets intercepted by the defense and it's taken in for a 6-pointer TD. Basically, the injury upon the insult for the offense.
You should watch NFL greatest hits ‼️‼️‼️
this is how the scoring works
A touchdown is worth six points, and is scored when a team crosses the opposition's goal line with the ball, or catches or collects the ball in the end zone.

Little plays matter and big plays matter.
michael vick highlights are insane !!
While possession of the ball the OFFENSE has these options:
PASS or a RUN: They are what they sound like, While the opposing team (DEFENSE) must stop them.
The OFFENSE may lose the ball to the DEFENSE in several ways:
A FUMBLE: When the player with the ball drops it midplay and a DEFENSIVE player picks up (RECOVERS) the ball.
INTERCEPTION: A DEFENSIVE player catches the ball from the OFFENSIVE PASS.
LOSS OF POSSESSION ON DOWNS: Failure to advance the ball 10+ yards within a set of downs.
PUNT: Already explained
TYPE OF KICKS:
KICKOFF: A kick that starts a game, 2nd half or after scoring points
PUNT: see above
FIELD GOAL: see above
ONSIDE KICK: A high risk, high reward maneuver to keep possession of the ball.
@@goldengoat9660 Well damn, I didn't know that
Nah your forgot the part where if it’s a pass both feet have to be in for it to count
you have 4 downs to get 10 yards which is a first down. if you don’t get it in 3 downs, teams will most likely punt the ball or kick a field goal and if u make a field goal it’s worth 3 points.
The goal is to make it to the touchdown line in 4 downs so the reason they throw the ball down is because they just got alot of yards down the field
I swear I remember all of these
NFL hardest hits would be great and NBA best plays or biggest dunks would be awesome too
A interception is basically like you taking the chance for the other team to score a touchdown..it’s a even better interception when the team is close to scoring 6 points and taking it away from them
18:43 was the Super Bowl and the Seahawks were about to score and win the game with the clock running down to the end. They have a very talented running back Marshawn Lynch and everyone expects a handoff to him to win the game. Instead they throw an interception to the Patriots who come down with it and now have possession of the ball so they can keep their lead and run the rest of the time down on the clock for the win
11:31
When a team has the ball they have 4 attempts to move the ball 10 yards down the field. but you want to get the ball as close to the end as possible where best case scenario you get the touchdown.
If only he knew how strategic everything in football is
Fr u gotta always think ahead and try to counter whatever play you think the other team is going to make...
Something different.
I like it 👍🏾
Just think of it like this don't think like it is complicated. If a player catches or runs the ball the defender wants to tackle him to stop the play. Each team can only score if the ball if ran with a player into the endzone or is caught in the endzone resulting in a touchdown.
Hearing TWReacz explain the NFL woke something inside of me
As long as the knee doesn’t touch the ground before the goal line , the ball only has to cross the goal line for them to score.
When he intercepted it he was down so the play stopped and when the other guy intercepted it he was still up the play was still going so he could run it back
"the box where you score" is called the "endzone"
If you watch a few full games it's super easy to understand once you watch it
Everytime you catch the ball that’s where the whole team lines up for another play and if the team can’t get 10 yards every 4 plays it’s the other teams ball and if they catch or run in the touchdown it’s 6 points and 1 more point if they make the kick in the Y thing and it goes the same for the other team
You grew so much in just a few weeks!
I love your description of hand egg to describe American football
When they throw a flag it’s for a penalty with the one on obj it was defensive pass interference which means the defender was holding his arm down in that case
don’t know if you reacted to hockey already, but if you haven’t, you really should. everything from saves to goal to hits to fights are sick
I like that he trying sumthin new🙌
Every 10 yards your downs reset you have 4 downs usually on the 4 down you punt/kick it in the goal post points vary from 1/2/3 and touchdowns are when you get it in the endzone witch point vary from 6/7 and the fouls are flags I dont actually know much about football except this oh and the ball cant touch the groung🙃
When they fall with the ball the play ends
btw the last clip where he intercepted it on the line was actually in the super bowl which is footballs championship game so he legit won the league for them with that interception
The reason they are both called Football is because when the Americans established their freedom the game (which was more like rugby at the time) changed into the 2 different games that we call football today.
Ayyy my boy switched it up
I respect all sports, but American football players are the apex athletes. Their size, their agility is crazy.
if you are in the other teams touch down with the ball in your hand it is a touchdown, once the crosses the line its a touchdown
If you like the runs I would recommend watch the most dominant runs in nfl history or best runs in nfl history, it’s absolutely crazy
