    I worked on a dairy farm for the summer back in1988, they had 4 deutz tractors. The big one was a DX 110 with a cab and 4 wheel drive. They seemed to be good tractors, I didn't mind operating them.

    Ive got a 2015 deutz-Fahr. 104HP 4wd. Great hay tractor and loader tractor. If I get 8000hrs out of it I will be happy. Excellent on deisal. I got it due to the frame size compared to the HP.

      #1 AusClaas 8000hrs ? 15000 to 20000hrs , no problem.

    There are still a lot of Deutz tractors around here still running and working everyday and there are still 2 Deutz dealers around to get parts at. I've never run one but the guys who have them really like them. I'll be watching to see it out running and cleaned up and working again. Bandit

    Good explanation. Don't blame you for not wanting to use it. Back when we started doing custom hay we ran into that same dealer thing. We were running John Deere but our dealer was very poor at the time and so we started running Massey. Nice wild rag by the way.

      @cowcamp87  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You understand the brand of equipment is more so related to the dealer relations you get! Thanks on the wild rag btw i like them this time of year

    A guy I know has a Deutz he loved it. He bought it second hand 20 years ago and he parked 10 years ago because he couldn't get parts As always thanks for the vid

      That sums up the whole experience here and why i have no interest in buying it!

    definitely late 70's early 80,s. we had a small dealer in our area that sold those and about five other off brands including Belarus

    Looks more like a 1978 with the plastic doors. Very good fuel efficient engines

    • @cowcamp87
      @cowcamp87  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Its not that old. Yes very fuel efficient. The M would rivsl it in fuel consumption

    • @apn42
      @apn42 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Think it is. Was replaced by the DX92 in 1982 which had a 4 cylinder turbo engine instead of the 5 cylinder naturally aspirated in the DX90
      Also the newer versions had the "Deutz-Fahr" decal instead of just "Deutz"

      @@apn42 i can see You know about the dx line. Do You think the 90 is reliable?

    • @apn42
      @apn42 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the engines are good, but expensive to repair. The transmission is a week point if the tractor only does heavy draft work.

    It would be a good tractor for a small farm or not the main tractor on a larger farm... Good for raking hay and running a brush hog and other lite jobs!

    • @cowcamp87
      @cowcamp87  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It was a good tractor. It be good for 100 hrs a year jobs. Not 1000 lol

    When the Allis Chalmers dealer near us closed up, we got a couple of Duetz. This was before Duetz bought Allis. They were easy on fuel. But "air-cooled" engines, from Duetz, or Volkswagen, or Lycoming,... it doesn't matter who, are mostly cooled by oil. And they are hard on oil. You gotta change the oil about twice as often as a "water cooled" engine, or it won't last.

  • @tractordawg
    @tractordawg 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    in our area there was a duetz dealer and now there are duetz-s everywhere more then any another kinds of tractors

    • @cowcamp87

      Where are you located?

    • @tractordawg
      @tractordawg 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      In the hills of New York. Those old Deutz-s were known to be parked on hills. You wouldn't need a battery to start them. Just drop them in gear and release the parking brake. (and pray it works)

      tractorman4650 My uncle had two S.A.M.E tractors, and one was always on a hill, and the other always had a chain on the front.

    The loader is worth more then the tractor. I love my westendorf Loader I have brackets on 3 tractors that fit the 1 loader.

  • @michiganfarming1955

    Have you thought about putting the loader on the 9? And thanks for the story on it too!

  • @69druth

    They were good in the day and didn't drain your fuel tank. Just got to keep the finn's on engine clean as they air cooled. We run one on drill rig. Engines easy to fix. I think the emission BS killed the production. Not a enormous amount of hr's I have seen them double that. problem with new tractors they tick hr's with the key on. Where older ones ticked on tack speed. Just another way for manufacturers to take money from our pockets.

    cowcamp87Deutz never heard of them but would buy a bigger tractor for a big farm and it would work for a small farm. It's a Dutch make tractor I would guess a better tractor in Europe then he in the States I would think.

    the key terms were "air cooled engine" and availability of parts. looked at them a bit for cheap hp. would never buy one.
