You're a life savor. I was in physics and everyone was flying through problems that required converting units. That feeling when you're completely lost is the worst, but now I'm confident I'll be able to do them.
    Thank you!

Thank you. I've lived a secret of not knowing the metric system for decades. When I was in 8th grade my family moved 1000 miles away because of my father's promotion. We moved while school was in session. When I got to my new math class, they had just finished the metric system about 1-2 weeks before I got there. The week we left was the week my old school was starting the metric system. I never learned it. I've picked up some basic due to jobs I've had. But, I couldn't do all the conversions you just taught me. I'm one of the people you meant that video for. THANK YOU.

Thank you so much. I just got out a class 2.5 hour lab and was soooo confused i got a migraine. I immediately came to youtube to see another way of this being explained. You did a great job of making this so easy to understand. I can't tell you how grateful I am!

I remember when I first started getting taught the metric system. It was in like 7th grade physics (of course it was called just general science, but we were learning physics). At the time I barely paid attention to the differences, or how converts, but looking back, I should have looked more into learning the metric system back then.

Hey there Mr.Math HERO!! OM-gosh... Thank you. Thank you for doing this. I know this is odd... yet I want to share a lil story in the shortest way possible. Here goes:
When I was in 8th Grade, in Middle School in New Hampshire,, about 2 months into the year. Suddenly my father got a job that he had to accept in MN where NONE of us had seen/lived. Problem for me (many but .. another day for that story)... the week I left.. was the week they were JUST starting Metric system. When I arrived at school, They had just FINISHED the metric system. I'm 1/2 way thouh my life and always have wanted to learn this. With the world so connected to places all around them, near and far... I've wanted to learn metrics basics and go from there. YOU did JUST that for me. It's terrific stuff. I was a para teacher as well. I could teach them well using the books, and showing kids the "pie" paper on fractions..etc. People need to SEE it hands on as partof learning.. most people and youth.
Anyway. I will watch a few more now that I get the basics. I want to see how it related to the 12" is a foot measurements, weight scales, height...driving.. etc. ;) I'll get there now that the intimidation of it is gone. See. You ARE a hero for me!
    Blessings,
    Thank you.

As a musician, I learned a very valuable lesson, that is, "I will never tell anyone that a particular piece or chord is easy to learn" because it's very easy to me, who has gone through years of practice, and now I master it, doesn't mean it's the same with others... Now, as for me, there's nothing easy about forcing to juggle numbers in my head, calling it MATH, when I spent %99 of my years putting sensible things into my head.

Thank you so much for this helpful video. It is a very simple concept, but very crucial at the same time! one zero extra or less could kill a patient, or worst direct a rocket to the wrong destination!
It would have been extremely helpful if you started with any other numbers than just 1 or 0.1; like converting 0.00375 deci gram to nano gram, or 2.438505 microgram to centigram. This is just for clarity for kids younger than 10. They always gets scared and lost if they see unfamiliar numbers in the question. We all know that exams always included a twisted version of the basics. Thank you very much again, your video was by far the best way of explaining the concept.

I know I'm being real picky here but.... The Gb is for Gigabit and GB is for Gigabyte. 1 byte = 8 bits This is important when purchasing a particular speed for your Internet connection. Some companies will use the Gb unit because their speed will seem much more impressive than the GB. b = bit B = byte

Units are in lower case: l liter, m meter, s second, g gram, but exeptions are J joule, N newton..
Bigger than the unit in upper case: D deca, H hecto, K kilo, M mega, G giga etc.
Smaller than the unit in lower case: d deci,, c centi, m milli etc.
Understanding the relations between units would be easy with a 10 x 10 x 10 cm box.
Fill it with cold water and you have 1l of water with a mass of 1Kg and a downforce of about 10 N (9,8 in my country)
