In Hindu stories Ravan was actually guard of Vishnu who was cursed . He had to be born 3 times as Rakshah and Vishnu had promised that he will come to kill him in all 3 life.

But we always praise and teach our children that India is our origin of many many cultures and traditions, even language elements. Unlike the Cambodians who claim themselves the origin of all those mentioned, both ours and theirs.

The Ramakien is a Thai adaptation of the Indian Ramayana but there are also many other influences.
Raam was from India and it's a true story. It's the Thai version that does not mean He's from Thailand or Buddhist mythology. It's our Hindu mythology and Indian story.

Who is the author/writer of Ramakien?
The author is unknown. After many copies got destroyed during the fire of Ayutthaya, King Rama I wrote a copy which was later edited by the next kings.
