Yes, if u don't want use the right click or left click buttons on mouse, you can simply press and hold the mouse wheel button and u will be able to PAN the drawing.
This fix doesn't work for me. the mouse wheel button brings up a dialog box with the no. 8, very annoying , have tried everything but no good. any help would be greatly appreciated.

You have to customize your mouse, just go to control panel & get the things done.

Go to Start button > ALL Programs > AUTOdesk folder > AUTOCAD 2016 > Reset Settings to default. This will work.

it didn't work i use cad 2017, I already follow your steps but then suddenly its still on a lasoo default not pan :'(
Hi there what type of mouse are u using...is it a simple optical mouse with right left click button and a mouse wheel or a gamer mouse?

Patrick you can go to All programs then to Autodesk 2017 folder and lastly to Reset settings to default. This may fix up the problem.
