No offense to Brett and Eddy, but did they mispronounce anything? Sorry,I'm just curious.
@@hellothere-dv5me nope
@@hellothere-dv5me They pronounced very clearly (for someone who doesn't speak Finnish). The way the pitch changed through the syllables (kind of like bouncing) is not how Finns speak normally, but we don't really care about the intonations since it's not that essential to making the language understandable.
We are very impressed when someone says something in our language, even if it's nowhere near the way natives speak! :)

Because Bach is deceptively simple and yet so difficult to get right
Thing is they call it a masterclass as a joke but it's actually... a masterclass. Did Brett and Eddy ever teach the violin, because they sound like they would make really great violin teachers. They explain every point very well and even provide (helpful) constructive advice.👍🤍
I would like to have them as my teachers. I don't know about Brett, but Eddy actually has a personal channel about violin lesson on TH-cam, but that account is inactive, the last video was released about 3 years ago.
They said in some video long ago they had teach. Prob during uni to make some money. And for research purposes, they did a video about different violin students.
They did. They talked about it a little in the musicality video, I think
Well all I know is that Eddy has this violin teaching side channel
Even if they never taught, just going through conservatory should give anyone plenty of expertise for constructive criticism of just about anyone. All you do for four years is either receive critique from your teacher, critique your self for hours in a practice room, or critique whatever poor sap is performing in recital that week. Most classically trained musicians should be able to teach at a basic level.
this really reminds me they're actual professionals and not just goofballs, they're soooo good!
What, you thought they were just goofballs before? Sacrilege!
it reminds me of Eddys old classes on his channel, those are gems!
Anabelle Buxbaum notice how Eddy always ends up taking over the critique, he’s a born teacher, that one.....

Good news everyone: i just did the math if they do 5 performances a week for a very short 15 *years* everybody will be reviewed!!!!!!
Correct me if i was wrong lol:
4000 performances/ 5 an ep= 800
800 episodes, assuming one per week so
There are about 52ish weeks in a year; maybe a little more. 52 times 15 is (rounded up) about 800.

Hi, I also play the accordion. You were Right by moving the bellow you push air through reeds (I don't know if this is the Right word:)) With your Right Hand you play the Melody and with the left hand you play the "bass"/comp while pushing the bellow. You can also choose different registers on both sides to Change notes by adding soundposts (an accordion has multiple hence it's quite heavy). She did this once with her left Hand, you can here a clicking noise. There are also two different Kinds of accordions chromatic or diatonic. Chromatic accordions have piano keys. When you push a key the same note resonates when pushing and pulling the bellow. This is different for a diatonic accordion. They have Buttons (like the one in the Video) and make different sounds when pulling and pushing the bellow. Also, the harder you pull on the bellow, the louder the tone.
I hope this was understandable, as I'm from Germany I had to look up a lot of technical Terms. Also I'm not trying to lecture you, just wanted to help you understand this amazing Instrument better.

“That’s really good, it’s like us at 10.” Don’t hold back bloody hell.
They meant when they had 10 yrs of practice (the guy has 4 and a half). Or at least that's what I understood.
Omg i thought they meant age ten--
I think he meant that when they had been playing for 4 years they both would have been ten, and that he was complimenting the fact that he was way better than they were after the 4 years of practice.
Anna Karenina Câmara they probably meant 10 years old because 4 years of learning the violin, just like the guy, they would have been 10 since they started around 5-6 years old...if i got that right
Gracie Sheffield They meant in comparison. What they could play after four years and what the person in the video could after the same amount of time.
The number of times that twoset ends a video but then they are just kidding.

13:12 "All these wind instruments today with those buttons. At a certain stage before, there were no buttons."
YES!!! And that is why I play recorders and ocarinas.
I love how I can feel each note on the tips of my fingers; how a subtle change in pressure or finger position can change the pitch. I love how my emotions manage to seep through the music, the same way my breathing makes the note sound more bright when I'm happy, more mellow when I'm sad, or more heavy when I'm angry or disappointed.
To me, that means I play best when I acknowledge what I'm feeling, because only by acknowledging will I be able to control my breathing or to release the tension in my body. Playing the recorder and the ocarina has helped me manage my anxiety and my emotions. Music truly heals.
(If you've read up to here, please share your experience with your instrument and why you chose to stick with it. I'd love to know what other musicians think!)
I always said a transverse flute help to control the general playing. (Faster interval, smoothness between notes..)
On a pan flute, I can control eatch and every single note mutch more deeper. (At the expense of fast play and more energy needed.)
I keep coming back to my guitar, especially in times of stress, because there's a dichotomy where it physically hurts to play (a fat steel-string with the action too high) but it can still make a gentle, expressive sound. Slowly transitioning from a simple melody plucked with finger pads sul tasto to strumming chords with my nails over the sound hole has this build and catharsis that I don't quite get from other instruments or arts.
@@watsonwrote I kinda get it! But for me it's usually the reverse when I play guitar. I usually start with chords, then some plucking when I could think of a melody that goes with it. My skills are only a beginner's tho since everytime I play guitar, the groove of my finger pad changes and that always messes with my playing on recorder/ ocarina.
@@davidcoulombe2000 I haven't played either of the transverse or pan flute, but what you said is similar to what I play too. I use the recorder if I want faster intervals or cleaner transitions, but if i want a deeper tone or if the piece has a lot of sustained notes, I use the ocarina.
Singing! No buttons either 😁
FINALLY! My beloved accordion gets some love! You are absolutely right about the accordion! The accordion is powered by the bellows, so yes, it is the equivalent of the bow on a violin. In that respect, the accordion can do many of the articulations and gestures a violin can. The accordion is also basically a mini reed organ that you wear, and it is entirely possible to play organ repertoire on it as well.
As far as the accordionist, that was exquisite! Very well done! I'm so happy to see my beloved instrument represented on your channel! The right hand is treble notes, and the left hand is generally bass notes and chords. To explain everything about instrument is too much typing for a youtube comment, but I'm so happy that you showed an accordionist on your channel! Wooo!
Right!! This is how I feel!! Haha
@@accordionlucy Maybe you could give (as a comment to Jonna) the constructive criticism/informed compliments for the video since you also play. :-)
@@oxoelfoxo Okay I’ll try! She is playing a button accordion and I play piano accordion so I’m no expert on technique for the buttons, but her posture is perfect. See how her elbow is far forward and her wrist is quite straight? This helps her hand reach those fast runs accurately. I love how she uses all her bellows. A lot of accordionists only use 30% of their bellows and change direction too frequently which disrupts the phrasing. Her bellow changes compliment the phrases perfectly and gives her a lot of room for crescendo and decrescendo. I really liked it!
@@accordionlucy nice review. I hope she sees it and posts more videos, ignoring her internal cringing at whatever mistakes she notices that her potential viewers mostly have no idea about. @Jonna

I really like this since it's mostly reviews of not exceptionally talented kids who just blow everybody away constantly. Brett is actually such a good teacher. Eddy also, but Brett has a way of explaining that seems attainable
'considering you've only been playing for 4 years and a half, that would be like us playing at 10' probably means, 'we started playing the violin when we were around 5-6 years old so after 4 years and a half of playing, like this guy, that would have been when we were 10 years old'
the number of years playing relative to the time they started playing is the point, i think, not the age
lmao
I think what they meant was that his level of playing after 4 years of learning was equivalent to theirs after 10 years of learning the violin
Agar Gamer like i said, based on the way they said '4 and 1/2 years since he started playing', the equivalent of that for twoset would be 10 years old, 4 and 1/2 years after they started playing :)
@@agargamer6759 no, OP is right. Brett & Eddy are counting 4.5 years after they started learning the violin, which meant when they were 10 years old.

If you want to get your playing reviewed put in a cute bun bun.
OMG the bunny video was mine and it actually wasn't recorded for the twoset roast... I mean review. 😂

petition for TwoSet to play pieces written by the fans.
Alyssa Smith let TwoSet suffer
They actually did. But I totally forget the name. It has a kinda Japanese title like Ichikawawa or something.
They already did. The 40 Kachikawawa Caprices were written by fans :)
I love how these guys are giving little private lessons! 🥰🥰🥰 it really gives back to the community and boosts musicians trying to learn and inspires them to keep practicing and improve! Way to go twoset!! 👏👏👏❤

“And this is our master class.”
Oh, it’s back!
why am i watching a violin masterclass when i dont even play any classical instrument?
great question.
*i also dont know*
Well i dunno about you all, but I'm getting motivated to learn the violin at my old age....
Dudes, how you 'print out' the "Subscribe" button at 12:57... is awesome. Nice gag on the thing being discussed. Very clever visuals in this!
I love how Eddy always closes his eyes when he is playing.. such passion
I'm looking forward to a masterclass intro, like the lingling intro, if ever editor-san will like to make one 😁
Yeeeees! Pleeeeaaaase!
The only masterclass i actually want to attend
This needs to be longer next time . Like seriously . I loved it . So you better listen to me and make it longer . Or i will call lingling to REMOVE YOUR TALENT ......
Or turn their violin babies into violas?
treble brother!
Or turn they’re violins into violas! NOOOOO
Not ling ling, the talent fairy :>
Herbie Tio i was about to say that lol
I'm not even a violinist and I find this incredibly insightful.
I LOVE TWOSET!!! The Bruch is one of my favorite violin concertos and I was mesmerized by Brett's demonstration and constructive commentary. And...Eddie - that Bach was gorgeous and gave me goose bumps. You are both not only brilliant violinists and teachers but also charming, smart, supportive, kind and highly entertaining. What a wonderful experience you are giving and sharing with the internet world! Thank you!
