  • People are on the water more than ever, and they take their kids along for the fun. There are a lot of different life vests on the market, each with different features. I've got 3 Coast Guard Approved, Type 3 vests in this video to highlight the differences. Make sure you test the vest on your child in a safe environment so you and your child are comfortable with it in the water. The time to find out how well it works, is not during a time of emergency.

Thank you for putting this together. Especially the actual behavior of the kid and floatation of the PFD in the water. Very useful

The last life jacket is too small, the child does not turning. 😟

You are referring to a Type I vest. These are all Type III vests. Type III vests are not designed to turn face up. This one is rated for 30-50 pounds and she's right in the middle of that range.

      @@kayakangler Ah ok 😯
Since I have confused something with Europe, there is the designation
Life Jacket a little different. Typ III is a Swim Vest and Typ I Is a Life Jacket.

@christophwegener8409 in the US here type 3 are usually marked as what it is intended for,so type 3 will say like ski/wakeboard,kayak,canoe and paddling sports, swim vest, etc but here in the US most swim vest are either inflatable or for the foam kind is just a zipper and leg strap
