Your point about cut outs is so true! Some of the cut outs don't look as thoughtful and will date

I love mini skirts. Especially silk ones

I do think that bomber jackets are timeless but it has to fit in your personal style. I was very tempted by an oversized red one the other day but couldn't follow through! Loving the maxi skirt trend too!

What a delightful surprise! 😍 very interesting video, sad that maxi skirts are in style since I'll be swimming in them, but nice since midi skirts are basically maxi on me 🤣

Oh yes, I have to usually search a little harder to find styles that hit at the right length. I have been a little spoilt by having a sewing machine/also a great tailor who will shorten anything at a really reasonable price :) But otherwise, midi skirts that hit at ankle length at perfect as is

Me, too, I just received a beautiful silk “midi” skirt, it goes to my ankles and I’m not even very short at just over 5’4”. Clothes are made for 6-foot tall models.

@@kimberlyperrotis8962 rip agree 😭 I live in Scandinavia where everyone is tall.. and I'm not ever 5" (150cm) so I've been embracing the oversized trend and will see where this maxi trend takes us 🙈

Great video! Lots of interesting outfits from the runways. I really enjoy how you explain the trend but don’t try to push people into taking on your style but rather help us think about whether it could or should work for us.

100% agree on the bomber jacket. It's timeless but it's too sporty for what I'm trying to do with my style. However, I love cutouts ! The ones on the ribs are a bit too 2000's for me but shoulders and all, feel super sexy and feminine to me but in a non-obvious way

I love metallic clothes here and there and in accessories, especially in gold. I always considered metallic items my alternative to sequined ones, they’re a bit more subtle, don’t have those hideous polyester backing fabrics, or scratchy/falling-off bits (I once had a sequined blazer, but it’s was super uncomfortable and littered all over the floor. I also love my gold metallic pleated skirt, but it’s not as fabulous as Karen Brit Chick’s gorgeous liquid-gold one. I’m not sure how well the new embellishments trend will do where I live, it’s so casual here (San Francisco). I’ll probably not indulge in that one, nor fringe, nor feathers. I still have a pearl-trimmed sweater from last time around.

I love my tan genuine leather zip-front short coat, it’s a fitted, slightly A-line style with a classic pointed collar, and reminds me of the 70s, my first decade for noticing fashion, when I was ages 10-19. All the really cool teenagers had coats like these, worn with turtlenecks and flared jeans or midi skirts and leather boots. I got it two years ago, new and current, from Anne Klein, and it’s a beautiful classic, more “me” than motos.

Gosh I also cannot stand the sequins falling off leaving a trail everywhere but metallic I'm definitely feeling. I love the sound of a gold metallic skirt!

The Bottega "jeans" are actually leather pants, I believe, but I hear your point about tonal dressing. Keep up the good work with twice a week videos.🙂

I love seeing the new trends, but I only incorporate the ones I love for my classic style, like this and last year’s polo-collared knit tops, and if they suit my body, coloring and age. The less extreme the trend, the more longevity it will have. Wider-cut trousers, yes, feather trim, not so much. Maxi skirts yes, belt micro-minis, no, I’m 62. I want to look reasonably current, but mostly suit my age and preferences; updated footwear and accessory styles help, as does keeping a current silhouette, no outdated skinny jeans/leggings with tunic tops for me (most women in my age group only wear this dated look).

A trend that has always been a staple for me, like your oversized blazers, is pleated skirts.

Your advice is always so helpful and insightful! Agreed on all of this. Pleated skirts are one of those pieces that I think has become a classic. Love the look of them :)

Purples were recommended by my pro color analysis, but I always found them difficult to style and I think they look drab on me, just emphasizing my excessive pallor, as do grays, another recommendation. I’ve wasted a lot of time and money buying new items to try to style my extant items in these colors, so I’m purging the last of them, trending or not. There are plenty of colors I do love like light neutrals, basics like burgundy, blues and greens, and cool pastels (Soft Summer type).

  • @yushiyw

haha when I saw purple, I think the color purple is trending because of the pantone color of the year which is a shade of purple, last year I think yellow was the pantone color of the year and there was a lot of yellow (and still is), though when I see all this it honestly just makes me think that these trends are fabricated to make people feel they have the need to stay on "trend"
regardless, I definitely agree with one should wear colors/or shades that he/she feels confident in! trends are just trends and it's nice to see different things pop over the years, it's inspiring, but definitely way too much to chase trends!

Cutouts are so annoying, I’m fond the most beautiful summer dresses and then find a cutout with side boob or midriff etc. I have the body to pull it off but I don’t think it fits my personal style so it’s so disheartening to find cutouts in all the summer clothes

Love the silky maxi skirt. No to bomber jackets on me. Not flattering. Never liked them.
