1966 was fabulous ❤
Interesting to watch this footage and notice not much obesity, everyone looks normal weight. How times have changed
Looks so good back then
One of the signs has a price in pounds, this would put it before 1966.
Yes 14 Feb '66 changeover. In the middle of my first holiday up there. Great memories ❤
So much class
Love it
Why do you come down to surfers paradise??? The men, what's your name????
@@CheekyBird790 and horrible dressing sometimes
I wonder if any of those wonderful neon signs still exist, or the more extreme mid-century motels and other buildings.
They ain’t coming no more. The tram line has absolutely destroyed this place. And the new extension of the tram line on the Gold Coast highway will be down to one lane each way in some parts. Absolutely ridiculous. The infrastructure is getting swamped and they don’t build anything other than ant mounds. Absolutely no entertainment other than seedy night clubs and a cashless casino
Wow love going back in time 😍 I hate this modern era. Moral decline on the rise ... oh how I miss decency and respect.
Surfers Paradise back in the early days had a wild reputation for experiencing lots of sun, plenty of sand and loads of SEX. It's No wonder the GC had a revolution amongst locals and tourists, alike.
Im sorry to bring this word up
But all "WOKE" people should watch this kinda stuff.
the 60's were very "woke", see the 1967 Australian referendum, the 1965 Freedom Ride and Queensland rights to vote 1965.
many great improvements for indigenous rights. Assuming you are talking about "alert to and concerned about social injustice and discrimination." aka the definition of woke
This is one of the JFK days
