This vlog was just simply beautiful! I loved it Eric. I will be rewatching this one because it was just so sweet. Thank you for sharing your stay with us.. 😊😊😊
Agreed. So glad to be ON the bandwagon for once :) We don't really get apocalyptic novels from a female perspective with a female protagonist. And for a debut novel I found the voice was very unique. ~Can't wait to read a review on your blog~
Thank you for sharing this. It was so gentle and beautiful. I love how you took me around the house. I may have to stay here. Thank you x x x I love the music too.... who is it?
Your vlog is the best video I've seen all week and you made the whole Essex experience seem so accessible even though I am thousands of miles away. I have never heard of this Julie character before so thanks for sharing. I will look up the fiction now. When you mentioned how living in the house was started to affect you, I was thinking you are literally living in someone else's mind. When we read, we are exposed to the author's thoughts but inhabiting a physical structure and a world that was made from what someone imagined, well that is next level
Thank you for being a friend! Yes, maybe the Gals lowered the tone of the high art environment but I love em. :) Thanks so much and you're right it is like the Dali museum!
It was an absolute delight to share your weekend with you. What a privilege to stay in that beautiful place! I've been holding out for a quiet half hour to watch this and am so glad I waited until I had time to properly pay attention. Vlogging A+ :) Ooh and thank you for introducing me to Neil Halstead! I know what I'll be listening to while I work this afternoon.
Thank you so much for sharing, just beautiful. I'm extremely excited about staying in the house early next year and having viewed this I know a little more about what to expect - the thought of people looking in is a tad frightening, but we will deal with it :). As a ceramist I greatly admire Grayson Perry's work and am grateful for the opportunity to totally absorb his work; the story and the tangible elements. I'm also now interested in reading The end we start from - thank you again!
Thanks Sue! You're going to love it. Such a unique experience! The people peering in really isn't that much of a problem - usually only slightly awkward when entering or leaving the gate to the house and people might ask if they can come have a peek in the house (but we were strictly told not to let anyone but the four registered guests into the property). It's a beautiful place and location.
This is so interesting. I didn't think that I would watch the entire 25 minutes in one sitting, but the next thing I knew, I had (and I was almost late for work). I love your vlogging style. The house looked like a museum, which made it seem cold to me, not cozy. Staying there, what did you think?
Oh dear, sorry to make you rush to work. I can see how you'd think that just looking at it, but staying there it felt more like being in someone's house so it did feel cozy. Plus it's so colorful and light hard not to settle in.
Oh, don't worry about work. There was no traffic that day, so I got there without any problems. I want to thank you for always replying to my comments. It's really very considerate and it always brightens my day. I feel bad that I usually don't get back to replying to your reply. I hope you're having a good week!
I'm not surprised that they can't keep up with the level of demand, if the deal is that you have to spend some nights there. Why not keep it open to the public as an attraction like a museum? Each person would only need a few hours to go round and see everything, and the price could be set at a reasonable amount.

Oh thank you. Well, I aim for adorable. Ha! :)
You have achieved adorableness lol

Awe, that's so kind!
Yes, exactly! And such a clever title. I think Hunter's novel is going to be big.
Agreed. So glad to be ON the bandwagon for once :)

This was a lovely viewing experience. And now I've added two more books to my wishlist!
Yay! Thanks!

Yes, absolutely! I meant to mention that staying in the house feels like temporarily living in a novel. A really unique experience!
This was lovely! The house looks completely fascinating and beautiful!
Thanks! It was a wonderfully unique experience.
This vlog was so good and so interesting! What a great opportunity for you and your friends to be staying in that beautiful and unique house!

Totally unique! I'm very lucky.
A vlogging neophyte and you handled it with such aplomb. Thanks for taking us along to The House for Essex. Really nice!
Oh thanks so much!
Ah, the Golden Girls! That house is fascinating and the egg on the roof reminds of Salvador Dali's museum in Barcelona. An excellent first vlog, Eric.

Absolutely loved this vlog. Please make more! X
Thanks! I hope to. x

very interesting, the house reminds me of Gaudi :-)
I can see why! Really flamboyant structure. :)
Lovely vlog! I've been living in Essex for about 6 months but I still haven't been to the coast!
Ah great, it's a lovely place to ramble along the coast.

A pleasure! Reading the comments is my favourite part of making videos & it's always wonderful to read your responses in particular, Amy. :)
