    One of the best build out there, form following function.

  •  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    „Form Follows Function“ is one of the key Bauhaus principles.

    I like this guy! no nonsense gear! I hate those "garage overlanders" that begin their description of every item with the brand but probably don't even know how to use their gear... this guy is like, hey they work, no particular brand, form over function, too busy tearing trails to worry about your parking lot overlanding

    Those Taurus E fans have been pillaged for years! I can remember people using those in rigs back in the 90's

    He said he has a 4' Firestik to support his Dual Band radio. What Firestik is that? I was unaware that they had a 4' antenna in dual band. Thanks for the info and great videos!!

    I love how he keeps it KISS even though I'm sure he makes good money at Toyota and could probably buy all the flavor of the month bolt ons.

    Great rig. Console kicks ass. And like many people are wondering....who makes that jacket?

    • @NostalgicLink
      @NostalgicLink 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pretty certain it's made by Condor... the Summit Soft Shell jacket... you can get it on Amazon.
      His flag patch is backwards... don't do that... should be always moving forward.

    Nice rig!!! Architect Louis Sullivan wrote the expression "FORM FOLLOWS FUNCTION". The quote said: "Whether it be the sweeping eagle in his flight, or the open apple-blossom, the toiling work-horse, the blithe swan, the branching oak, the winding stream at its base, the drifting clouds, over all the coursing sun, form ever follows function, and this is the law. ..."

      Condor Summit Soft Shell jacket, available on Amazon... not sure if he's using the lightweight version or not, but it's definitely not Arc'Teryx...

    Interesting. Nice to see the Puma. I'd like to know more about the welder. One item, I think that you both would like are the rear flip up doors. LandCruiserPhil here in Phoenix makes them sites.google.com/site/landcruiserproducts/windows and they are a straight forward design, easy to install and don't leak. Makes getting to stuff in the back much easier and quicker than dealing with the swingouts. I can get into my ARB when we're on the trail pronto and it also helps to get to the Puma, which Phil also has a decently priced mount for, that utilizes the third row seat bolt holes. Peace! #3630

    I believe computers were added to new crs from '86 on.. After that, a car can be hacked into from another computer. Hence, the engineer here keeps his old model Toyota

    Without a doubt Dan is one of the most interesting and credible people I have ever seen talking about an overland vehicle, online or anywhere. Sadly, most of what we see online is either ill-informed, impractical, self-aggrandising, opinionated without substance or blatantly pushing the products of their "sponsor". None of these criticisms apply to Dan. Thanks for this video.
