Nice video! Taking IELTS requires special preparation. Everyone who has taken IELTS will confirm that it is not enough to communicate fluently in English in order to get the necessary scores. When preparing for the exam, I recommend you to study special IELTS preparation books because they are specially designed for a student to understand how to take the exam. Take IELTS practice tests to prepare psychologically for the exam and get a feel for the time. In addition to IELTS textbooks and simulators, I also recommend for you Yuriy Ivantsiv's practice book "Polyglot Notes. Practical tips for learning foreign language". This book provides tips on solving many of the problems that every student faces when preparing for the exam. For example, how to effectively memorize new words, how to learn to write without mistakes, how to begin discussing a topic without stuttering, how to memorize new and why one forgets and much more. I wish everyone a 9.0 IELTS ! Good luck in creating your best future! Believe in yourself and never give up friends!
I used every steps and study with your pinned ielts practice it really helped me a lot my results came out today and it was a pass. My advice to future takes please try to finish up ur works. From listening, reading and writing also don't spend so much time figuring an answer move to the next then later u finish up the ones you did not answer. Also when it comes to speaking please be confident. And use Words you know the meanings don't just use UNWANTED grammar that u don't know the meanings. Good luck to you all.
I'm preparing the IELTS, I already have knowledge in English but I absolutely know nothing about the test process. This video was of great help. Be blessed ❤
I did one mock test before my IELTS Academic(2023) as well, and scored an 8. It wasn't timed, but I was super cautious of the time allocation and basically did a "speed run" Can't say for sure but I have a friend who said some test centres are more lenient than others because of the general quality of English spoken in the area...so maybe targeting a one a low average score can help. I struggled with speaking because I talk really fast and quickly ran out of things to say(note to self: take your time) My writing wasn't perfect either. I scored a 7 and still can't pin down the reason why. Getting feedback on it will definitely help. I'll probably have to do another IELTS test when I'm relocating to Australia for work or a PhD. Thanks for the tips Chioma👏👏 Listening- 9 Reading-8.5 Writing-7 Speaking-7.5
Now I see why you aced your IELTS exams back to back. You speak very well and eloquently too. Well done, I will take some of your tips and put them to work. I am looking forward to taking the test soon.
All you said is so true, the psychological aspect got me some few days back infact you are the first person am coming across that pass this test in1 sitting ,i was filled with fear of failure n cried my eye out, however finding a soul who passed in 1 sitting is a big relief thanks sis ❤
Thanks a million for this info! ⭐️ I'm currently preparing to write the IELTS Academic test. I've been looking all over for resources, and I'm grateful to have stumbled upon this video.
One of my classmates, who neither attended any IELTS course nor did a lot of practice questions, easily achieved a high IELTS score. This is because he took the shortcut of ‘IELTS Score Guarantee’. If only I had known about such organisations before my exams, it would have saved me a lot of time and effort!
As a matter of fact, I just applied for Ielst test taking place in about six weeks time and I must confess that your video has somehow doused my fears.
Same applied to me. I scored 8777 in LRWS with little preparation. Targeting at least an eight in each component for general training in my next attempt.
It will interest viewers to know that ielts is all about strategies. Coming from Nigeria, my English is sufficient enough to ace any proficiency exam. Just follow their marking criteria and keep it simple. learn to use complex sentences that include independent and dependent clauses. Stop searching for fancy words and idioms to "impress" the eximaners. There is a likelihood that u will end up using them incorrectly, which will affect your overall score. Don't be too careful in avoiding grammatical errors in your speaking test, cos you may end up making more mistakes. Know that English is not your mother tongue. I found TH-cam videos very useful. These included ieltsadvantage by Chris Pell and E2 by Jay. Just study the marking criteria and you will be fine
Hi Chioma, this video is really facilitative, thank you for those useful tips. I've always admired your fluency ❤..... Hopefully, mine will be a huge success like yours next week 😂....
Thank you so much Chioma. This video has been very helpful. Especially the part where you explained how you navigated the comprehension segment in IELTS. That was so insightful and calming.
I just come across your channel and I must confess it's packed full of goodies and am subscribing right now and hope to see more of your content. Thank you.
Thanks alot Chioma for the tips , especially for the link for past ielts past questions. This is my first time studying for this test, trust me I couldn't afford tutorial fees. So your video is like a life saver for me, I truly appreciate it
I’ve been an ESL and also IELTS instructor in China for ten years. You guys are also forgetting that she comes from an English speaking country lol. It would be like asking a South African or Indian how well they did on the IELTS examination lol. Of course she can ace the exam. 😂
Thank you for sharing your experience. I am preparing to write an English test. I am yet to decide on which test to write between IELTS and OET based on my fear of not failing the test and need to repeat it several times.
Hi Chioma. You are doing a great job. I love your channel. You are such a motivator. Can i ask something. Is it possible to combine two Ielts results when doing the EOI. For instance if we need 7 in each band can someone show 7 in two band in 1st result. And then the other 2 in à second test taken thereafter?
