    To put your Toyota Prius Hybrid into maintenance mode, insert the key and press the Power button two times to put your Prius into Ready Mode.
    Press the gas pedal to the floor two times, then press and hold the brake while you shift your car into Neutral.
    Release the brake pedal and press the gas pedal to the floor two more times, then press and hold the brake while you shift your car back into Park.
    Release the brake pedal and press the gas pedal to the floor two final times. You’ll see the word “Problem” appear at the top of the display.
    Press and hold the brake, then press the Power button one final time to enter Maintenance Mode. A red car icon with an exclamation mark will appear in the top left of the display to signify that your Prius is in Maintenance Mode.
    In Maintenance Mode, the gas motor in your Prius will run continuously so you can do things like bring the engine up to temperature for bleeding or burping air bubbles from the coolant system.

      Too kind! I have a few more of these to grind through cause I really think the longer ones on doing the Prius hybrid inverter coolant etc will be some of the best on TH-cam for the topic, but I’ll sprinkle in some drift vids too as I get through my backlog of footage 😉

      Thanks, Paul! I had to do the 120K maintenance on one of our daily drivers, so I figured I’d make a library of content about it. I’ll have a few Prius maintenance vids coming out but I may not even set them to notify my subscribers cause they’re useful car vids but not terribly relevant to my usual motorsports content 😅

    Maybe you have some advice
    I just bought four new tires and four new sensors. I installed the sensors and the tires.
    The tire light is still on.
    I tried programming each sensor individually.
    I tried programming the sensors as a set.
    I tried copying the old sensors and applying the program or ID to the new sensors and unfortunately only two of them work.
    I tried manually entering the ID to each sensor and the light is still on.
    Occasionally it goes off for about a minute and then comes back on again.
    Please advise.
    PS these sensors are programmable and reprogrammable and have worked on many other cars with no issues which is why I chose these.

    a) my prius doesn't come with a key slot.
    b) With all the touchscreen tech, they could not have come up with a simpler way to put the car in maintenance mode?

    • @KameTrick
      @KameTrick  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It seems like if your Prius doesn’t have a key slot, just having the key in the cabin with you achieves the same result.
      I hear you on the other thing, it’s like they’re trying to make it just hard enough that everyone takes their car to the dealer and pays ridiculous markups to get even basic and easy maintenance done 🤔

      Is it common for a 2015 check engine (yellow) light, hybrid system warning light, VSC system light, and brake system warning light to come on all at once? I have a 2015 I bought when new, Prius V 117,000 miles that I keep maintained.Then all a sudden BOOM 😢 Lights go on. I noticed when I pressed the auto button the system was not showing any charging to the hybrid battery.

    • @KameTrick
      @KameTrick  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hmm…if it’s doing that without you putting the maintenance mode combination in, there’s probably something legitimately wrong, whether it’s a loose connector, bad ground, dying sensor, or something more severe.
      I’d take it by an auto one or dealer and ask them to check the engine codes for you, see what comes up. Autozone type places will do it for free…no idea if dealers do.
