Frey and Henley should have been ashamed of themselves for the way they treated him. Rock on Don! The Eagles were never the same without you man!!

This underpins my thought that Walsh and Felder should have split from Eagles after The Long Run and formed their own band. Been saying it for years. Felder is a fine vocalist who would've gotten better. Walsh already had a wealth of material from his solo days and they would have written some great stuff. Joe had Joe Vitale and Kenny Passerelli from Barnstorm for drums and bass. That would have been a killer band. But, Walsh lost his stones and kept taking the checks. It's too bad, too.
Henley and Frey could have gotten Waddy Wacttell and Nils Lofgren, but it wouldn't have been close to the same. They're both great players, but wouldn't be able to duplicate the previous chemistry.

They kicked him out because he was the most talented dude in the band.

Weird to hear him doing Henleys vocals in a lower key.. A little cheesy. And,,, Im not hearing the 2nd guitarist.. Maybe he's too loud on stage so FOH is keeping him low in the mix? I dunno,,,

@@midlifemotox 1/2 step is hardly an octave .....not really noticeable and where Henley performs these songs now in case you haven't noticed....Much like what Sting has to do when performing Police songs....

@@dinopappous6639 Very very few artist from the 70s preform in the original key. Micky Thomas being an exception. I admit 1/2 step isn't much, but it changes the mood of the tune for me,, Just my opinion. Even Journey is dropping keys with Arnel.

Everyone talks how Felder is such a guitar God. He is a great player, but you know what makes him look soft? He had all this acrimony with the Eagles, yet he still goes out and schleps their body of work to make a living.
Does Joe Walsh even do an Eagles song in his Solo show? Probably not too many, because he doesn't need to use that material.

I guess when you co wrote a great deal of it and it was your idea that brought hotel California, their most iconic work of all, into being in the first place, I guess you figure you have as much claim to it as the Henley eagles do. Oh did I mention he was the one who created most of the iconic guitar work for the majority of their work? What we have now after the riff is two Eagles cover bands, the Henley Eagles and the Felder Eagles, neither of which is the original but they both persist. Sad really. But since I love his guitar playing I prefer the Felder Eagles. One has the iconic guitar, the other has the iconic voice. Take your pick. Sadly we can no longer have both. At least Felder seems to still be having fun. Not sure about the Henley outfit. They just look worn out when I see the youtube clips unlike these guys. I'm sure this could all be debated depending on one's point of view.

To make a living? The man is fucking rich, for several generations to come. He does it for fun or because is a musician and a musician likes to give gigs.
