    I really like LG washing machines. I bought one 5 years ago (drying and washing with wifi) and it was so good that I bought another one but with ez dispense and offered the old one to my mother. The videos are also extremely well made.

    Just bought the 6700 model and found the ez dispense and main/manual detergent compartment information confusing. The owner's manual almost suggests an either/or usage - as if you can only use ez dispense or the main/manual dispense. Also, I think some user testing would have been illuminating for LG - not everyone uses fabric softener in their wash loads and rather uses dryer sheets in their dryers; and some people like to use in addition to their detergent for a load - oxiclean powder or liquid color-safe Clorox bleach...where should these go? So the limited info drove me to get answers directly from LG. Here's what I learned:
    1) If your EZ dispensers are set to ON for one or both dispensers, your machine will draw not only from EZ dispenser, but if you put anything additive in the main/manual wash compartment, the machine will draw from both. So, want to include oxiclean powder in a load in addition to your regular detergent? Make sure EZ dispense is ON and put oxiclean powder in the main/manual wash compartment and you are set.
    2) If you don't use fabric softener in your wash loads, the EZ dispense fabric softener reservoir can be used for either more of your regular detergent or you can use liquid color safe bleach. LCSB is the same viscosity as detergent and fabric softener, so appropriate to use in the fabric softener EZ dispense reservoir.
    3) If you only want to use one kind of detergent in either one of these compartments...you can change the settings via options to turn off or on either of the EZ dispense compartments. Turning both off means that only your main/manual compartment will be drawn from for that load.
    4) As the manual says: Regular liquid bleach must only be placed in the bleach compartment in the back.
    5) As the manual says: You can not mix powder detergents with liquid detergents in the main/manual compartment. So if you're wanting to use the main/manual compartment for regular liquid detergent + powdered oxiclean...that's a no no. In this case, you'd program your load to use the EZ dispense for regular detergent and put your powdered oxiclean in the main/manual compartment and the machine will draw from both. (The LG rep did suggest that you can in fact turn OFF your main/manual compartment, but I have not figured out how to do that, and I'm not sure that is accurate).
    @LGGlobal - please fact check me.

      Such a helpful comment! So if I want to use powder detergent and liquid fabric conditioner, I will need to add the powder to the manual part and add softener to the number 2 ezdispense compartment? I assume you only get to add one load of powder detergent to the manual compartment?

      To continue on your point 3. Do you know if you set the softener to a different detergent in the settings and leave auto dispense on for both compartments, does that mean that the different detergents from both compartments will come out in the default volume effectively meaning you used double the amount of detergent needed for your load? Alternatively is the washer smart enough to only use detergent from one of the 2 compartments? I'm quite confused myself and thanks for your help in looking into this for us!

      Do you know how can I use the regular liquid bleach for white sheets? The drawer doesn't have a bleach compartment.

      I’m confused also… my confusion sits with how do I switch detergents & softener between washes. For myself I use Normal liquid detergent & softener however I have 2 children with sensitive skin and I usually change detergent & softener to sensitive. Any way to stop Ezi dispense & just add detergent & softener in the drum when i need to wash the kids clothes? Or can i somehow get 1 dispenser filled with sensitive detergent & the other dispenser with normal detergent & then add my choice of softener in the manual dispenser (centre) … ????

    This video is a clear example of Apple's success. In summary, you need to remember an amount of steps, as a sequence, pressing here and there for a 1 or 3 seconds until you find out your program. The engineers forgot that we need to remember and handle tons of things during the day

      @richsmif 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      Not really the draw holds fluid for 30 washes. Select AI wash, press go. Even an apple user can remember that. Best machine i ever bought. Samsung was good but LG is just a touch better i think.

    I am surprised that none of the videos that I've watched has included instructions for adding additional products to the wash load. IF I choose to add a wash enhancer like powder OxiClean to my wash load, do I add it in the manual wash dispenser while still using the ezDispenser? or would I add the powder OxiClean directly into the drum?

  • @heathsmetalwerx
    @heathsmetalwerx 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    So I either use the manual main wash compartment or I use the ezdispense but I can use laundry powder in main compartment and ezdispense for softener is that correct?
    The instructions don't make this clear at all neither does this video.
    I assume from instructions and video that it's one or the other yet the manual compartment is also labeled "manual main wash detergent compartment" but clearly isn't the "main wash detergent compartment" the ezdispense compartments would be considering they are used for most was cycles?
    My last direct drive we could use powder and softener at the same time and wasn't complicated like this.

    Is there a bleach compartment on the machines with the EZdispenser system? What are the options for the usage of bleach with the EZdispenser system machines?

    This can be a pretty confusing feature, I had to study and research it quite a bit. I have recently bought an LG washer with thia function, and here's what I have learned so far: the manual drawer always gets circulated, so if you don't want to mix powder with you laundry liquid (you don't), disable Ezdispense detergent. When choosing laundry liquid, check directions for use. If it is mentioned "use the drawer," then you can use it for the ezdispense drawer. You can disable each Ezdispense tank separately, so you can just disable detergent fluid but still use fabric conditioner.

    Do you have to remove the screws of the ezdispense to allow the détergent and fabric softner Flow into the machine???

    If i link both the detergent resovours and put the same liquid detergent in each, does the machine use up one resovour first and then switch to the other? Please explain how that works.

      This is the question I asked L.G rep today. There were no clear answers. She suggested that I ran the wash again and see if there was any difference. What I have noted in the video is there are two linked squares or rectangle. These are supposed to link the detergent drawers together, I am assuming then when one compartment is empty then the other will be used for detergent.

    Yeah, still confusing. My machine just got installed, but so far it seems I'll be using the manual option anyway. It says I can use two different liquid detergents, but doesn't say how to select which compartment it uses in a cycle. Say I want detergent for darks on the right (1) and detergent for colours on the left (2), can I select that it only uses (1) when I wash darks, or will it automatically mix the two? Obviously not what I want, so very strange that they give the option of two detergents but no explanation on how to use it. I also don't use fabric softener, so will I get an error when I only fill up one detergent compartment? Or am I so stupid to not understand? I suppose I can fill both with one detergent but will have to use manual when using detergent for whites and colours. It just seems illogical.

      @Myrobloxusernameis_Flupper55 Hi, thanks for the reply, but that's exactly what I don't want. If I have dark detergent in compartment 1 and white detergent in compartment 2, I don't want them to mix when say I wash white clothing. I just want to use the compartment with the white detergent. I only have one compartment filled as I don't use softener at all, so it seems just switching off the empty compartment works, but I can't be sure until I fill both and see what happens when I only turn on one.
