  • Blytækning udføres i dag kun i begrænset omfang ved istandsættelse eller restaurering af særlig bevaringsværdige bygninger, hvor det oprindelige arkitektoniske udtryk ønskes bevaret. Bly er giftigt for mennesker i arbejdsprocessen og kan belaste miljøet. Derfor er bly generelt udfaset af byggeriet og kræver særlig tilladelse af anvende. Denne film viser udskiftning af et udtjent blytag på en kirke. Med det rette håndelag fremstilles og oplægges baner af bly efter århundrede gamle principper, og filmen viser at blytækning helt bogstaveligt er et håndværk, der kræver specialfremstillet værktøj og godt med knofedt.

    The runoff water must be so toxic. Hope it is being collected and put through sanitation

      Is lead soluble in water? No. That's why we use it for roofing and flashing. It last a long time. The old roofer looks as healthy as our old roofer's

      @@dundas9222 not solid lead perhaps but what about the oxides. I'm thinking that's the reason we don't use lead piping anymore.

      ​@@MrNeutross It's because it's hard to do. Modern roofing only takes some sheets and a nail gun. And people can mess that up too. As you can see (this channel has a lot of other similar videos, including copper roofing), this type of roofing takes way more skill, experience. It's truly a craftmanship kind of thing.
      And that's just the skill it takes to make it. The materials? Let's not even mention the cost lol. Just imagine a roof's worth of copper...

      Just about as toxic as every shingled or asphaltic roof. Lead roofs have some of the lowest runoff rates for metal roofing.
