Jewel weed is a good antidote for stinging Nettles and amazingly you usually find them growing together.

That’s good to know. Thank you. We have some nettles growing along our creek. Nasty. Will look for Jewel weed. 👋

OK Cliff, that was fun. I don't think I ever saw such large mushrooms B 4, orange or any other color. Looking forward to the more in depth showing of that covered bridge.

Glad you made it to Tyler! The park is about 20 minutes outside of the nearest Philly border. Even on the busiest days, you can still find a less traveled trail that's unpaved. Lots of horseback riding. There's another entrance about 5 minutes north (up Swamp Rd) that puts you a lot closer to the covered bridge.

They used to stock that damn with trout. But they found some "forever chemicals" in the neshaminy creek and lake Luxembourg. So they didn't stock them this year.

Cliff a lot of houses in Bucks. Chester , Montgomery and Delaware Counties were built before we were a country. My Great Great Great Great Great Uncle Thomas Janney came over with Wm Penn and had property in Bucks Co. In the pack of papers I sent you is a map of the owners and the properties they bought. MY uncle's House was built in 1683 and is being used by a Church today.

This park is close to where I live. I hike it regularly. One Spring I started hiking the Red trail from the covered bridge back to the boat house. I got about 100 yards in and the trail was covered with thousands of freshly hatched baby toads. It was an amazing site. I turned around and took a different trail back. I didn't want to stomp on them.

Loved this video. I like your videos of you hiking in nature. I can go a little distance in parks but my back and neck kill me and I have to stop. I miss hiking out at the Swatara state park. Thanks for your wonderful videos. Peace.

Cliff, you missed a good portion of the park on your jaunt. Just past the Schofield bridge is the Tyler Hostel, with is from the 1700's. If you followed your original plan, you would have traveled past quite a few other old buildings and some ruins. Need to get back some day.

Are the ruins on the red trail?? I’ve never seen any, I’ve been there several times, I did see the hostel on the paved portion but must have missed the ruins, where are they if you don’t mind me asking, thanks. Ruins are one of the many things I appreciate when out hiking.

Not far from me, Cliff. I'm one county over in Montgomery. Good to see you made it here. Great park. I often come here to play their two fantastic 18-hole disc golf courses ( you weren't too far from them). Please find time in the future to check out Peace Valley Park. It's a county park not too far from Tyler in Doylestown that I think would be right up your alley. 👍

Such a beautiful area, would love to see it in person one day. Thank you for the next best way. I’m curious to know what bird I was hearing when you were looking at the spotted jewel weed. Enjoyed seeing all the little toads. Take care.

One of my favorite spots, although there are always people there, its always a friendly vibe when encountering other folks on the trails. There are also several trails that are a bit more challenging that are always less crowded, in fact, I seldom pass another hiker on those trails! Give it another shot, you won’t be disappointed!

I was there the week after you were there. I went on the 17th after visiting the Mercer Museum. I parked up close to the bridge, the covered bridge parking area, and hiked down. There are frogs everywhere close to that bridge, and along that trail for that matter. The “Red Trail” is called the Neshaminy Creek Trail and it’s one of the equestrian trails. The trail is great for deer coming to drink from the creek. It is a nice park.

A nice relaxing hike. Loved that old house you found. There are a lot of those in the greater Philadelphia area. Have you been to Baldwin's Book Barn? It is a very old barn filled with books and is in the West Chester area.

We live 5 minutes down the road from there. When our kids were toddlers we spent a lot of time there by the damn and as they got older we all did a lot of hiking in Tyler State Park. If I knew you were in the area we could have had a cup of coffee and donuts together. Have you been to Neshaminy State Park about 20 minutes away? Or Nocahamixon State Park about 45 minutes away?

Hi Cliff, I think the trail you were supposed to be on, you can see it at 7:02 to the left of the big tree, where you are hiking though is still very
beautiful, with lots of our hopping friends. Absolutely ridiculous, with so many people obviously visiting the park you would think the park
would have better signage. If somebody as skilled as yourself got lost then what hope do the occasional hikers have of getting on a trail.
Thank you for sharing, much love. xx ❤
