Today, April 9th, marks 42 years of surrendering my life to Jesus after watching a performance of The Witness on that Good Friday so long ago. The years following I got to perform in the very same musical that brought the gospel to me. This brings back such a flood of memories. God has indeed anointed this. Thank you for your ministry.

I was part of this musical back in the seventies at Cedar road assembly of God in Chesapeake VA. We performed this up and down the east coast including the Assembly of God youth camp in Falling Waters West Va
What a wonderful program. Did this in my early 20s with church choir tour. Still have album and book. Youngest was 6th grade to I think about age 30. Mostly high school and college. Touched so many lives. Remembered the soloists and all the funny things that happened with a live program and all the singers that turned their lives over to Christ during the program. Sadly, now 40+ years later, we have lost a few members. Spent Thanksgiving singing this as loud as I could... Before people showed up.
Saw this musical many years ago. This song has always stayed in my mind. Didn’t have all the words right, but you know how that goes. It was a phenomenal work and a great tool for unbelievers who are seeking but not sure! May they come to the Lord and seek his forgiveness!
Oh my gosh, haven't heard this in so very long but I never EVER forgot it. I would gladly buy a hard-CD copy. THANK YOU SO MUCH for uploading this, it is truly unforgettable and a blessing to those who hear it.

Its been since around 1977 since I saw the performance at our Church here in Ajo AZ. EVERY ONE INVOLVED IN THIS PERFORMANCE WAS EXCELLANT. A GREAT MESSAGE IN SONG. So much has changed since then, I was perhaps 16 at the time. My siblings all older than me have passed on, my dear sweet Mom as well. I never felt the presence of my Dad since he was badly injured when I was born. When I was 9yrs. he past away. "The Witness" is an inspiring message. THANK YOU JIMMY&CAROL OWENS, GOD BLESS YOU BOTH And all persons involved in this production.

I was 20 when I performed as James in our church's production of The Witness back in 1983. I will never forget the music or the impact it had on everyone who acted, sang and watched it. My favourite song from Mr. McGuire. Great arrangement!
So powerful!,I still have fond memories of the wonderful previlege I had acting Jesus in a production put together by Calvary Road Inc. Ghana. WoW! I have tears in my eyes as I listen to this all over again after 23 years +. It's like yesterday, a powerful life changing event. Praise the Lord.

I suggest that you update this with 2015 accompaniment and re-release it so we can do it again. These are great songs with a wonderful message. Telling Christ's story through the eyes of Peter was so wonderful back in - ummm, was it early or mid 80's? Anyway. It worked before and will again with a few tweaks in the accompaniment sound.
I found it! I was only I think 5-6yrs old when I watched it live in southern California. It was so powerful even for the small child that I was that thru the years I would sing parts of the songs in my head! I never had forgotten them. That was 35years ago! It only dawned on me now to look on TH-cam. Thank you so much for sharing it!
Lincoln Cathedral UK was packed with people, both hands in the air, filled with the Holy Spirit, singing. Was it in the late 70s ? What a night. I can still remember it.
Brightmoor Tabernacle in Michigan performed this for Easter years ago. I was just listening to the tape cassette that I still have (I had to get two copies made so I would never be without it). I decided to check You Tube for it....thank God, here it is! This blessed story never changes...it grows sweeter every day! God bless you all.

such a powerful representation of the easter story. I remember listening to an old cassette tape that my sister had from when she saw it when I was a baby in Dallas Texas. I never saw it live.. but my imagination brought it to life.. and I hear these songs in my mind every year at easter.

I had a production of this on VHS tape when I was a little kid in the 80s. Used to watch it all the time. It was edited down so it didn't contain the full play, but I loved that thing. I can't find that performance anywhere.

I saw this as a teenager in '70s, with our youth group, in Auckland Town Hall. What a musical! I'd like to get hold of script and try to stage it.
