Bravo!!!

Tschaikowski has this unerring Inspiration of the perfect melody in any of his compositions. Everything he does, is of great harmonical ans rhytmical skill.

Although Tchaikovsky have made his name as a oustanding orchestral composer (ballets, Piano Concerto, and more...), for me, his piano pieces is just undoubtly exquisite, there is a misterious feeling wandering along with these melodies, especially this Op.72, composed alongside The Nutcracker, and, by the end of his tormented life :)

Yeah, I've always thought Tchaikovsky's piano was severely underrated - to me he was note for note perhaps the most emotive piano composer of all time.

These peaces were composed after he had finished composing The Patetique Symphony and waiting for it´s premiere in S.T Petersburg in October 1893.

As a singer I sung a lot of Tchaïkovski's Romances hardly performed out of Russia... also sadly very underrated music...and with the beauty of poetry as a plus!
Utterly touching, passionate music I hardly could perform without crying...

Dihelson Mendonca The general public are only interested in the first piano concerto. And there are some real gems here.

Because to most classical music lovers it does not occur to click the like button. It happens to me all the time. I’ve listened to Nasedkin’s recording of Prokofiev’s Cinderella Suite op.97 perhaps a hundred times but I don’t think I have yet “liked” it. I should go an click on it after I’ve listened to this recording.

These peaces were composed after he had finished composing The Pathetique Symphony and was waiting for it´s premiere in S:t Petersburg in October 1893. Someone has called them "shavings from the big Symphony". He wrote one piece a day and called it "I am baking panncakes". Nr 10 was aimed to be the scherzo in the Symphony he wrote before he composed the Pathetique Symphony and abandoned (he turned the first movement into Piano Concerto nr 3).

While he did compose the eighteen pieces the following month after completing the short score for the Symphonie pathétique, themes for ten of the Op. 72 were found with sketches for the Symphony in E-flat, so many of the ideas predate his final symphony.

Nos. 11, 12, & 15 were orchestrated and inserted into 'Swan Lake'' when the ballet was staged posthumously under the supervision of Riccardo Drigo.

And others were orchested to Onegin, a Cranko's ballet.
