Hopsin was one of the people (there were a few) who showed me I wasn't alone in questioning things and thinking outside the box and wasn't afraid to talk about it, this song came out at a time I needed to know I wasn't alone in that. Very grateful for him and this song

Me too. The freedom to question and ultimately reject beliefs is something this world is working on, but the battle is going too slow.
I'm happy you were able to question things, getting stuck in that mindset is like being in a prison but you're in love with your warden

As someone raised as a child to be christian. For years i had so many questions that nobody could answer. My mind always questions everything. When i first heard this song i realized i was in tears by the end. It spoke to my heart and soul. So much of the lyrics were the thoughts ive had my whole life. Its a very strong message that i think more people should hear it.
"Im a human, i'll stay in my line. Ill mind."

Hopsin did a song called Along With Me. It’s about his internal monologue and his relationship with his own thoughts. It’s amazing to see his spiritual growth in that song and as a therapist you’d be very fascinated. Hope this gets to you

As someone who watched this song as a religious person and judged him for his bad words, and then watched it again after my religious deconstruction. This Song is the perfect depiction of the pain and anger that comes from the death of faith. Not to mention the shame that comes from believing you were born sick and need to be saved by the God that made you sick. I still think it was worth the pain of deconstruction, I'm sure I still carry some of that anger from all that religious shame. Faith is just circular confidence in a belief just because you believe it. I still have all the awe, meaning, and appreciation I had before my deconstruction, but now I don't have the shame, judgment of others, or circular reasoning.
As for Hopsin... that is his Mask or altered personality he uses to show is darker side. he always has white contacts in his eyes when he is in this mode. Marcus is Hopsin's first name and is his real personality. He has many songs that Hopsin and Marcus talk to each other. Alone with me is a great conversation between his 2 sides. His song "Your house" is about Escaping his parental fights in his childhood. He also has some great songs about the fight that made him not be able to see his own child that lives in Australia. That Song is "Hotel in Sydney".

    Amazing Insight :)
Hopsin has plenty of songs that relate to mental health, and the poor guy has been through quite a lot... If i had to make any suggestions based on mental health themed songs, I'd say a good one to check out would be "Your House" which delves into some childhood issues, as well as the song "Alone With Me" Which is really just an entire song battling himself and his demons. Love the NF, and can't wait to see what else you bring to the channel!

As a Christian, I can admire this song for its raw honesty and vulnerability, and dealing with the subject of doubt when it comes to faith. When I read the Bible, I see the historical experiences of sinful people who put their faith in Jesus (the Messiah to come if I’m reading the Old Testament, or Jesus if I’m reading the New Testament who is the Messiah). Judging by the way, the Bible tells the stories of these men and women, it’s easy to have some insight into what their prayers and struggles with faith might have been as well. And that’s why when I hear this song by Hopsin, I’m not upset at the swearing or the blasphemous questioning because I see a broken man searching for an answer from God but God is patient and loving and does not force Himself onto us because that would be the opposite of loving. God speaks softly in His grace and our hearts have to be postured to hear His voice. It was only when I had come to the end of myself that I could hear God’s voice and understand His ways. I still struggle with it though and even through my faith my spirit is made holy by the works of Jesus Christ, my body is still sinful and so there is this war within myself that brings about doubt and fear. My heart has been given new desires to follow God but also my sinful nature still wants to please itself and not follow God. Only when my body is dead one day and I’m in the presence of the Lord will that war of my fleshly desires come to an end. And I can still today question God why He would allow painful things to still happen even when my soul has been saved, why does my body and my mind and my heart want to stray from the very faith that I have? It’s because I can do nothing on my own accord ultimately. I am saved by grace through faith in Jesus and even the will to believe is part of that grace given to me. I’m only human and I will not know fully the mind of God or His ways because He is holy and I am only now in the process of being made holy but that work is still happening each day for me because of my flesh. If I understood everything about God wouldn’t that make me equal with God in knowledge? Of course I’m not going to ever be equal with God. Yet it’s that very truth that can stir up the pride of our sinful nature and put us at war against God simply because we give into our human nature rather than the goodness that Jesus wants to welcome and redeem us back into. I’m probably explaining this terribly but I just want to say that God loves you and He can handle us at our worst, it doesn’t scare Him away and it doesn’t make Him love us less. We get to choose if we truly want a relationship with God, He has already made the first move and has offered us freedom from sin and an eternity with Him, the Author of Love; or we can choose what we want, still slaves to our sinful desires we will hate God, we will hate his commands and live a life of pleasure and blissful ignorance and then die and be tormented in an eternity absence of God’s presence and grace because God will actually give us what we want. If we want Him, we will be with Him in Heaven. And if we don’t want Him, then Hell is a place where He does not dwell. I don’t say any of that lightly either, I just think that many people don’t even see that there is common grace given to us everyday in the air that we breathe, the beauty that we see in nature and the love that we can feel is a mere fraction of what God’s love is. As far as the east is from the west is how much God loves us and yet we dismiss Him and would rather worship the blessing instead of the One who blesses us. And yet God is patient with us throughout life but one day God will judge all of us and He will rightly sentence the just and the unjust according to our works. And only those who have faith in Jesus’ works will be found holy. I say this not to scare anyone but to emphasize that God shares this with us. None of our own deeds are good enough to be made holy and that’s why we need Jesus. You won’t find His body if you check the grave though, and it’s because He’s alive. Research it, wrestle with it, feel your doubts, cry out to God, repent and believe. God is good and is for your good. His character is dependable and his faithfulness is never ending. God bless you if you read this and put your faith in Jesus. I’m just another imperfect Christian trying to share Him and letting you know it’s okay to have those moments of doubt, don’t let it destroy you.

In your opinion, what is the most important story in the bible?
Personally I think it was the resurrection story, because I feel that without that none of this has any real validity.
When I was on my way to becoming a pastor I was helping our head pastor gather verses for Passover. I found that the resurrection story is so... contradictory that it completely shook my faith and gave me the insight to finally question something I held so dear to my heart.
Looking back I think about my time as a christian like being with an abusive spouse. I would be there with love and give everything I have, then eventually fear changes everything. The love is still there, but so was the fear. I felt like I couldn't leave because I would be betraying everything I ever worked for and believed. I stayed and made excuses at every corner of my life.
I wouldn't even go so far as to say I had doubts at this point, it made me dive even deeper into my studies.
Eventually I realized that maybe my pastor was wrong, then maybe the church I was in was wrong, maybe the wrong denomination, maybe the wrong sect, maybe a different Abrahamic god, maybe a different religion all together, maybe spirituality comes from within, maybe spirituality is nature, maybe the universe is God, maybe God is everything, to eventually land at I don't believe any of this.
It was a very slow process with me giving all I had the entire time.

      @Kdubb815 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

@@jakematthews2458 In my opinion, the greatest event in the Bible is the resurrection of Jesus Christ, I agree. It’s clear in the narrative of the whole Bible that it’s the story of God and when reading it, we get to see the heart of God for people while also seeing his punishment of sin. Jesus is the center of the narrative throughout the Bible.
I’m sorry to hear that you no longer believe. Did you ever read any of C.S. Lewis books of how he became a Christian? He wrestled with a lot of concepts as he was an Atheist before but his research led him to belief and I’ve heard other intellectuals have some similar testimonies.
I’m no intellectual, and I think that faith isn’t about gathering up all the information that you can find to then believe, although for some maybe that’s a bigger part of their faith. I do see evidences of God’s presence and works everyday and ultimately I’m not blind in my faith, but the Bible talks about a childlike faith, a trust that’s more at a heart level, not a head level. And so when I read the Bible I see the heart of God is for people even when they rebel and curse Him, He loves them still and yet He is also just and must punish sin too. That’s the entire purpose for Jesus coming to earth as God in the flesh and becoming sin even while He never sinned and being crucified as a sacrifice for everyone’s sin and ultimately rising from the dead showing sin has been conquered only through Him. Now if that never happened then Christians are to be pitied and our faith is a lie. And maybe that’s where you found yourself that shook your faith to ultimately not believing. That makes me sad to hear honestly. My heart breaks for people who have walked away from Jesus or maybe felt abused or betrayed in some way. I don’t know your full story but usually it’s not because of Jesus, it’s because of other Christians why people leave the faith. Now my question to that situation is were some of those people maybe looking up more to Christians, pastors, etc. more than Christ? It’s an easy idol to create because as humans we are prone to wander as our eyes look and since Jesus isn’t present here on earth to experience with our senses, we often make idols that we believe and they’ll ultimately fail because they aren’t God. Satan hates God and he hates people because we are made in the image of God,yet Satan disguises evil by enticing our natural desires, making it look good and that it’ll help us, all the while it’s the very thing that will destroy us and push us further from God, we will end up worshipping ourselves and leaning on our own understanding and we will essentially blind ourselves by our pride to believing God doesn’t want our best interests and that He wants to keep good things from us. All that is a lie by the master liar Satan and he is very strategic in this just look at our world and you can see he has been allowed to roam the earth devouring up anyone who doesn’t cling to Jesus. And the worst part of that is that most of it is destruction by comfort and convenience. Most people won’t know they’re being destroyed because their lives here on earth will be seem better not following God, this only will reinforce the mindset of not needing God. The Bible says there is a way which seems right to a man but in the end it leads to death.
Now I know that nothing I say can change your mind, I’m simply sharing what I’ve learned myself throughout life from the Bible. I am sorry you see your time as a Christian as an abusive spouse, please don’t take anything I’ve said as some way of making you feel shame, because that is not my heart at all for you or for anyone who walks away from faith in Jesus. I will pray for people who walk away to return to Jesus though and will pray that Gods love perfected in them will cast out all fear from them. I will remind them that God is a gracious and loving God and wants to welcome them home but He doesn’t force His love, and as a follower of Jesus I don’t force anyone or shame them either. It’s okay to wrestle with doubts and passages where you think there is contradiction that might have led you to lose trust in who God is but God is never far off from you. He loved me while I was at my worst, hating Him and spitting on who He is, defiling my body and disgracing His name, yet He still loves me and I’ve repented of that and even when I stray still, His hand won’t let go of me because He bought me with His blood on that cross and because I believe in Him, I get to spend eternity with Him and I cannot wait for the day that my fleshly desires fade away and His work in me is finished where I won’t struggle with sin still. My spirit has already been redeemed, my fleshly body is still bound as Paul says in Romans 7. But one day I will be able to walk with God for eternity and experience the life that all of us people were supposed to have before we chose sin over God.
