  • 屋外組のレッサーパンダ達の姿はなく、レッサーパンダのいえの中でも暑さを感じました。そんな中、突然かえでが走り回り・・・。高所を跳ねる感じで走り回る姿に少しヒヤリとしましたが。#RedPanda

Thank You so much for the extensive description. The aprox. 3-story ceiling was a surprise. It would be almost impossible for AC units and even a powerful fan to get that area cool. Since heat rises and, unfortunately, the Red Pandas feel safer high up, this is a frustrating situation. But it explains why they are panting to the point that their sides heave. I'm not even sure that more building insulation would fix the problem.
We haven't forgotten that the Caretakers are not only in this heat, but having to WORK in it! Then they may have to go home where there's more heat so they get NO RELIEF. People can die just sitting in heat, but in earlier stages they can feel weak, nauseated, and have trouble breathing. The pandas are also at risk because their bodies REQUIRE cooler air, and they have thick fur coats they HAVE to wear.
Your people have to work extremely hard, in difficult situations, and the work NEVER stops. I hope most people understand this, and know that virtually all Caretakers are doing their BEST to take care of ALL the animals.
What triggers viewer complaints usually is only being able to see part of what is happening. A few panda videographers are known for recording incidents that should NEVER happen, and instead of preventing it, they are busy glorifying it. There is no way of knowing if the same person always uses the identifier they post under. Often, we can't tell whether it's a zoo, preserve, etc.; the name; or even what country it's in. Some of them have a history of making derogatory comments about Red Pandas because they obviously don't like them.
But, the videos when I become irate and send vicious emails involve acts like DELIBERATELY causing animal fights, frightening them, tricking the pandas into thinking they're going to get food, or making them do multiple tricks just to get a piece of apple. I saw 2 of them this morning. Two weeks ago a man tricked a panda by offering it food, but suddenly shoved a cloth bag over its head and laughed while he was doing it. Burns me up. It's not apparent whether any of them are employees, volunteers, or relatives or friends of those. But the person filming is assisting them by doing so. Every video of these types that are posted on the Net are undermining the
efforts of people who work hard. They cause people to start worrying about the safety
of animals they love, and whether they have been injured or died. All of this is exacerbated by one camera person who likes to title some tapes so they imply something terrible has happened. People then wonder who these people are, what purpose they serve, why would any organization that is truly taking care of business tolerate the behavior, why these people have access to the pandas, why they haven't been removed and banned from the property, and how all these things are happening without you having full knowledge of (and, therefore, condoning) it.
Again, thank you for your response.
