I have ridden one, a standard road version. It didn't sound like this, sounded much meaner and deeper. Maybe it's just TH-cam audio but this sounds like a 125, my H2 (part-owned with a friend, as we were both young and poor at the time) sounded like a thunderstorm being conducted by the throttle
@@matisvanasse5905 maybe compared to a normal dirtbike single thumper. I’ve ridden a 750 triple and it felt like a scooter compared to my R1 and S1000RR and the torque figure isn’t much different. I’ve also ridden bikes with more torque than my Superbikes and they feel lazy and they’re way slower. Has a lot to do with engine design like stroke and bore size. But a short stroke, high revving (higher horsepower), and low mass has always been a wilder ride compared to the large displacement and higher torque bikes. Gearing also plays a huge role in how quick the bike is because it can multiply the engines torque going to the wheel. Superbikes for instance don’t make much torque so they have very low gearing to make up for it. The engineers then take advantage of the high redline to get the top speed. By having low gearing on a high revving engine you get crazy acceleration and top speed. That’s exactly why I can yank the front wheel off the ground on my 97ft-ib S1000RR at 140mph and smoke a Harley with 134ft-ibs. So basically it’s not as simple as “the torque makes them wild.”

Modern 2 stroke are pretty insane too. 850-900 twin 2 strokes can easily achieve 250 horses at 2/3 the weight of a 1000 4 stroke. And as you said, gearing play a big role in the perceived power.
Badass! Owned a Kawie 750cc H2 from age 19(1977) to age 59, had to part with the bike in 2016 due to not being able to ride it anymore because of by degenerative spine condition. My best friend has the bike now in CO, he takes great care of it, thankfully.

Had a buddy in high school that raced dirt bikes. He also owned an H2 750. Left a party and he gave me a ride home. The front wheel did not touch the ground. He was an amazing rider. The H2 was just another motorcycle to him. At 59 years old I would still get a ride home with him on an H2. He was that good. They were crazy scary bikes back in the day!
I have a buddy just like that! Him & his brother raced Bultacos & when they were older they both had 500cc Mach III's. If you bike-locked your front wheel to a fence, all they had to do was wrench off the front axel nuts & wheelie away!
i envy the bikes you guys have ridden. today, most modern bikes are too technologically advanced, there’s no more soul. i want the older bikes, where it’s just me, the bike and wits. that H2 750 is just raw power. i ride a 1980 cb750 and an interceptor 650

Best configuration ever! Triple cylinder engine and two stroke. That bike must be a real monster: nimble, powerful, light and sounds awesome. Triples and V4 are my fovourites and 2 stroke engines must come back.
And the way it sounds ringing out and echoes through the Woods at the end is one of my favorite sounds! First time I ever witnessed a 1974 Honda CR125 Elsinore was on dirt roads in the woods and it had that sound. I heard it way before I was able to put eyes on it and I could not wait to see what it was making this noise that sounded like Godzilla! When I finally put eyes on it he was cat walking get through fifth and sixth gear standing on the pegs with his legs straight and a rooster tail spraying like I had never seen before.

I kick my yz490 like that normally 10 or 15 times to get it started. A real beast to get started. Feels great kicking the hell out of a dirtbike.
WOW! i miss mine! i had a 1975 H2 with denco chambers shaved heads and some porting on the piston skirts and cylinder walls back in the day... wheelies at 80mph and a top end of 135 mph if you had the balls to push it thru the wobble at 115 and again when slowing down. loved that bike never should have sold it.

@@evanwalker9298 The KV75 was one one the fastest mini bikes made. I think the only one that had more power was the bonanza with the Hodaka 100 motor. I had a Taco mini bike with a 3hp Briggs and Stratton in it. Then I had dirt bikes, and I eventually worked my way up to a 72 H1 when I was 17. Great times back then.
The ol boy can ride her to nothing like the crisp sound of a triple 2stroke. a big kitty 1000 tundercat is one of my favorite sleds ill never get rid of mine. #2strokeanpotsmoke
Fastest accelerating vehicle I have ever ridden was an early '80's Scorpion 500 Triple snowmobile with spikes in the tread on an icy road. Could barely hang onto that thing.
A buddy of my dad had an h2 750 dialed up to about 8.5. Had a he'll of a time keeping up on a gsxr 600 in a straight line. Conering was a different story.
That is one of the sexiest sounding 2 stroke I have ever heard! Absolute terror on 2 wheels
