In the early 70"s Rupp snomobiles were way ahead of their time..........in 70, 71, and 72 they dominated the stock classes B-C-and D, what a great collection of the coolest sleds of their time......... we raced every weekend in Michigan and did very well with 71 magnums and 72 nitros......then the ultimate 75 440 F/A......thanks for the memories

Man does this bring back the memories! My Father had a Rupp dealership briefly during the 1970-71 season. Our personal machines that year were a 23 Sprint, a 34 Sprint, a 440 WT, and a 400 Magnum. Man that 400 was a monster! She'd lift the skies at 60 mph!

I remember my Father bringing home our dealerships first 1971 Rupp 400 Magnum race sled. It was in a crate (like all of them were when we recieved them) and had to be finish assembled and prepped. Man that thing was scary fast. I remember him running on the side road with my uncle in his car. At 60 mph he nailed the throttle on the Magnum and it lifted the ski's in the air. It was amazingly quick from a standing start or low speeds. I remember them being clocked just under 100 mph on the back straight at the Wausau Wisconsin oval.

I had an old Rupp when I was about 12 years old - back in the early 70s. I'm pretty sure it was a late-60s Sno Sport. No labels on it whatsoever, except it said "Quality in Motion" across the front. It had a 340 Kohler engine with electric start. Maybe someone had changed the engine. My gramps bought it for me down by Akron, Ohio. I think the guy who owned it may have worked for Rupp? I had it for several years, then it got hard starting. Wish I still had it today!

Rode my mint condition 73 Rupp Magnum 440 in Tully NY south of Syracuse. Beast of a sled. Not much throttle pinch or travel at all. you were at zero or 70 in a hurry.

My Uncle was a Rupp sled dealer till about 1972 Rupp was the coolest until the Sno-Twister and GPX

I knew a family in Canada from snow country that had both a Snow Twister and a GPX . After 2 yrs with the GPX and 1 with the Twister , they sold them both and bought a new Yamaha . The Twister was nothing but trouble , parts were coming loose regularly including engine mounts . The GPX was no better certainly wearing out very fast ; too fast . It was not made to last .
I always remember RUPP's . Those red machines were always so fast and durable . They were very sought after . I wish I had one right now ! ! ! Have a good one Paul !

I guess they hate the sounds of old sleds judging by the foolish guitar running roughshod over what looks like a nice group of sleds.

Yeah, background music is completely unnecessary in a video like this. I want to hear the engines!
