    I don't know about anyone else, but I'd LOVE, LOVE, LOVE a save game at the end! I'm totally enjoying this series and frankly would hope it would nearly never end as the challenges are now shifting from logistical movement to dealing with line volume/capacity, city growth, and traffic. THANK YOU Paul for this fantastic series!

    Great series! About the congestion in the bus/tram stations, the entry roads all merge at one point (forming a hourglass figure) creating the biggest bottleneck of them all. If one line overflows the merge point no other can get through aside of the odd ones using the other lanes and being able to pass. Same goes for the exit roads, too few of them. Entry and exit should atleast be separated based on the direction the vehicles enter/go to. Even better to have each line its own entry and exit lane.

    Hi Squirrel. Love the series. The "axalpee" as you call it is named after an alp in the bernese alps in Switzerland. There is a ski area and a swiss air force live firing range. Since its name derives from an alp, it's more like "axe alp". But of course feel free to call it axalpee. ;) If you havent seen footage from the firing range I recommend you look that up. It is pretty spectacular. Greetings from Switzerland.

    41:17 nitpicking I know, but I would have bridged the road then run it on the hill surface, just avoiding the tracks.
    That wee hill screams for a bridge above the road anyway - using a tunnel going under the road only to go twice back up the height is odd. A bridge would have made it half the elevation to climb for vehicles, in total. 42:23 Only a few meters difference to run the road on the surface instead. Ended up tunneling all across, yet not in a straight line at least. So there is detour already. Sure it's end-game but still keeping it realistic is what the game is about to me.
    Love your attention to detail in general, and being so meticulous about everything

    **chuckles** I for one would love to have the savegame of this, but I'm pretty sure my laptop would dive out the window screaming the moment I try to load it up! 😂
    A few handy mod suggestions for your next series and anyone starting a game; Different Cargo Icons, which makes the blue cargo icon brown for all the stations so you won't mix them up when you have mixed pax/cargo stations.
    Warehouse; MASSIVE storage capacity truck pickup/dropoff, I usually make a huge train cargo hub with a couple of warehouses for the trucks to supply nearby towns.
    Small Inline Road and/or Passenger Station; great for slotting between streets inside the city and trucks can pick up from it as well which is great if you have Industry Expanded with the Mail addon.
    DMA Road Stations; from about 1950 on, you get lovely truck stations with a more industrious look.
    Industry Workers is interesting, people will work at the factories and farms and such and you can shuttle them there by bus or train.
    Railway Warehouse; a huge capacity train cargo station with warehouses rather than the usual buildings. Can only have 4 platforms though.
    Field Plopper; define and place down new/extra field for your farms. Purely cosmetic.
    Build With Collision; a quite recent mod and a lifesaver! The game screams COLLISION at you in red when you want to place a road that juuust nicks a hitbox of something - you get a blue button that says Build Anyway. Neener neener game, take that! 😜
    Peterbilt 352; get lovely articulated trucks that carry 32 units as early as 1959!
    Ultimate Cargo and Passenger Capacities Mod; Oh Em Gee this is a must-have, even if you use it only to increase that stupidly low cargo capacity for airports!
    Well, off to beautify my map with the 300 other and mainly cosmetic mods I'm running, until I get distracted by another great Squirrel video!😊

    You could fix the issue at the bus depot @33:30 by adding one way roads around it and having them as bus lanes. That way it would be like in City Skylines as the road will only allow busses to go on it. I personally made it work like that on my map

    as stirsfan 58 has said, saving this playlist as a reference tool for future big builds as I know the game more and better is a defo. also, as you asked at the end of this episode squirrel, yes yes yes i want the savegame because seeing it live and exploring onscreen gives far more knowledge, and enjoyment, than only seeing on video. please upload asap so we can start to explore it!!!! thanks and keep the teachings coming.

    You CAN ban vehicles in Transport Fever 2 by having a 2 lane road with bus lanes. That means that both lanes are reserved for buses. I accidently set this up yesterday and it works kind of great!

    I really enjoyed this series! There is many times throughout this I wish you would have taken a bit more care in building bridges instead of just an easy cheaty tunnel. Amazing series though!!

    Since we've max'ed out everything in the series(probably), when don't we get the private sector traffic issue sorted. I mean Squirel should build some overpasses and bypasses, 4-8 lanes highways to just make the game look amazing as we finishing off

    You don't have to split the lines for the grain, you can do two runs in the same line, using a different dock bay each time, something like this:
    + Grain farms dock (bay 1)
    +Factory dock
    +Grain farms dock (bay 2)
    +Factory dock
    That way each boat will cycle bays in the grain farms dock, doubling the dock capacity for that line. I expect the game to split the grain for the line among the two bays at least somewhat.

      This is what I wanted to say too. If you add duplicate route you have to run exact amount of ships, but if making a two run line then adding half of running ships should up the efficency quite a bit.

    In all the big cities you can implement a second train station before the power station and a third after the power station. Stations with passageways and bus lines to stop there. And perform more services that stop at all stations and semi-direct services. So people who were a long way from the station and drove will now be able to do so with the new stations and the train that stops at all the stations.

    Tiny piece of information that i discovered is if you notice on delivery your vehicles are sitting there just a little longer than you'd like or they should, if you're using a dedicated station and not a road-side drop-off, in the wait until full button, you can set the maximum stop time to 0 seconds by manually typing it in where the default 3 minutes displays and it'll speed up the drop-off and get back on the road time significantly!

    Hey Squirrel, regarding the traffic issue on the station, What are your thoughts on surrounding the block with the central station with one way streets? You can even have the station be longer and use separate entries and exits removing the bottleneck at access point. Just a thought. Great series btw, it got me to purchase the game!

    Thatcham - Romsey pax train; some of those mod trains are modular. Didn't seem like you saw that. I have the red one on my map shuttling between Leigh and Mitcheldean with 264 capacity. Making good money 👍

    Sharing the grain supply for different industries(plastic & alcohol) seems like a bad idea. Most hungry will steal the grain even though it might be wasted on transport. I think using different lines for different industries is much more manageable.
    Another thing that I don't like is small contention areas ( railway ). IMO after the junction there should be always enough clearance for longest train so in case train stop at the signal after the junction it does not block it.
    Anyways, great series. Enjoyed it.

    you could add more exit points on the bus depots which will allocate 1 bus stop with each exit point and have 2 road exit points for the buses, or create some separate roads for buses to go down

    Wouldn't it be just nice if you roll out a highway through out the map to sort out the traffic issues that is at the end. I mean your series is already the best game play in any tf2 series I've watched. It'll make things look a bit cool.

    Really enjoyed this series, got a couple left to watch now, I laughed at the grain truck line, as I’d just done exactly the same thing on my version of the map I’m playing along, I just put my road the other side of the main road so no need to cross over, with the ships, have you tried doing the same thing effectively running two lines but the same line just go from port A then port B then back to A but select different landing, then all 12 ships on same line? Does it work as well or is it better to have two separate lines?

    That road that you say is causing the tram deadlock.... You could make it One Way... that would solve the issue of trams having to cross traffic.

    Can't you have the grainships going to the alcohol plant partially unload at the plastic plant to bring more grain into there? Since they are travelling past anyway.

    Squirrel, I have watched all your videos with this series to the end, I've learned so much about how to play. Since having gotten this game, (about 2.5 weeks ago) I've been struggling with learning how to tunnel and bridge under and or over streets. Any helpful hits or tricks would be appreciated. Thank you

      When building a road that crosses something else, before hitting the Build checkmark, use M and N keys to respectively raise or lower the section of road you're about to build to make a bridge or tunnel (hold Shift plus M or N to go in tiny increments) - it took me weeks to figure that one out myself. I also, after building the bridge or tunnel, then demolish the entrance and exit of the tunnel or bridge plus a couple of sections of above ground road and then build a new section to reconnect the tunnel/bridge and above ground road for waaaaay smoother slopes😊

    I got a question (hoping for an answer here). I have a planks factory that I used in the beginning at the fullest potential, but suddenly it two lines stopped dropping off logs and it doesn't want to produce any planks anymore. I have to make planks from a further factory just to get everything rolling. I only use the mod that is similar to this series for extra factories. Does anyone know what I can do about it to get that back up and running?

    I wonder how much of real world design could / should be used in the game. Are the built-in game rules such that it would not work? Example the huge bus traffic jam. Because the game doesn't allow for the obvious fix, you have to try to apply various work a-rounds. Then having trains shuttling between two towns that are almost touching. With the map being so small, everything is too close. Can a larger map be used? I'm hesitating to buy it because while it looks like fun, I wonder if an engineer would be too frustrated.

      There are most definitely some issues when it comes to scale. Considering the amount of things that are being transported between single points it's just crazy.
      The problem is, in real life the distribution of goods to actual consumers is not dependent on single point to point connections, rather you have main logistics hubs. Think of cargo harbors like Rotterdam or Hamburg. These are the places were incredible volumes of goods arrive. From there goods are loaded onto trucks or trains on a scale that'd be akin to the one in the game. These goods are then transported to smaller (but still large) logistics centers - think your average Amazon warehouse. From there goods are then transported to even smaller distribution centers before being transported to their final destination.
      So what the game does is, it simplifies the logistics by cutting back on the amount of distribution layers, whilst not cutting back on the importance of the layer. In real life logistics networks are a lot more robust and usually can very much cope with delays, accidents etc. (unless it is indeed one of the main logistics arteries - like the Suez canal, surely you remember the whole Ever Given thing). The game however can not cope with any sort of major disturbance of its logistics network.
      It simply wasn't built as a simulation with that level of detail. Additionally things like traffic are some of the hardest things to model in a simulation. Lots of money is being poured into researching traffic behaviour and as a result of this being a really hard problem games like TF2 or Cities Skylines tend to struggle really really hard once certain threshholds have been passed. Also don't forget, cities in the vanilla game were never meant to grow this large, adding another factor on top.
      Now to your questions:
      There are indeed larger maps possible, but performance goes down the drain after a certain point (autosaves take upwards of ten seconds). I'm sure you'll have fun if you enjoy watching the videos, just don't expect it to be a full simulation. Worst case - at least on Steam - you can always return it if its before the 2 hour mark.

    SOMEBODY HELP - I have a small town that I am absolutely DUMPING construction materials onto a nearby dock. That drop is splitting between the truck station to take it into that city as well as a train station that's taking it to another city. The local truck station gets a TINY FRACTION of the bricks coming off the ship meanwhile the city is sitting at around 40% construction material fulfillment WITH full drop-off coverage. WHAT AM I MISSING?

      It could be frequency. If your materials are coming in by ship, there many be a lengthy time between drop offs. If your trucks are waiting until full, that lengthy drop time could be affecting the truck frequency such that the game isn't allocating materials to that route. You might try a time delay (30, 60, 120 sec) on the trucks and accept some of them running empty. You might try using smaller ships and running more for a lower time between drop offs.

    The traffic was bcuz u moved the road that connects the two cities together to another entrance so they took this road in the middle as the main road they travel through
    Why not connect the cities that ppl traveling to by cars by highway system ?

    Thinking this game isn't counting for inflation... 27B seems rather low for that amount of time/transport lines, etc.

      Well the cost of trains for ex. Is so much less then reality and the distances are way lower with lower demand and passengers so even having 27B in the bank is a ludicrous amount you'd almost never use
