"Behold I do not give lectures nor a little charity, when I give I give myself" - Walt Whitman With that one of my favorite quotes, I embarked on my bi-annual charity cycling "vacations" this time riding along the Historic Route 66 bicycle path from St. Louis, Missouri to Chicago, IL(Michigan and Adams St (downtown) In 6 days and 5 nights, I'm planning to cycle 356 Miles across state with the Midwest December dropping to 14F on some evenings (when I'll be warmly tucked into my hotel bed cover) Yes, this is only daytime ride where temperatures will be between 26F and 54F.
Due to the prevailing Illinois Westerlies and Southerlies during December, I took the Lincoln Service from Chicago Union Station to Gateway Station St. Louis- so I can pedal from South West towards North East enjoying those Westerly Southerlies pushing me along like a butterfly.
As part of Dec ember Mental Health Awareness Month- I'm looking forward to challenging myself physically and mentally through the cold weather in order to surpass and persevere through and aches and pains this mind and body will produce.
As a fully healthy 44 year old, I's like to dedicate my service to children far better than I, who may not ever have the same chance.
