    this is not a revolutinary technoligy in any way this turbine blade shape has been around for years (I believe that it was originally developed to be a boat propeller and was mathomaticly) this company has just gotten a whole heep of already proven tecnoligyes and smashed them together.
    being compact is not a advantage as well because turbines get more efficient the begger they get not the other way around. due to having greater frontal area to catch the wind.
    using solarpanels as a comparison is poor as they are two completely different technologies that require completely different conditions to function. one may be more efficient than the other solely based on location.

    Solar panels are between 15% and 30% efficient. The thumbnail is a lie.

    Power from your system is 80% * .5 * Air density 1.2* Wind speed 5^3 * Area (2m dia) (1^2*3.14159) = 188 Watts . Does not add up to your claims.
    Power (W) = 1/2 x ρ x A x v^3
    Power = Watts
    ρ (rho, a Greek letter) = density of the air in kg/m3
    A = cross-sectional area of the wind in m2
    v = velocity of the wind in m/s
    This system is a WHOLE LOT of expense for not much gain at all .

      @@yavuzalisener2 In some language I don't understand and It seems very basic . I have designed many VAWT systems and they get complex the more efficient until I discovered Prandt D and self alignment . Note that some cam operations are good at negating torque pulses and also optimisation of power .

    Efficiency, in itself, is not important. Ultimately, it is the financial efficiency that matters - taking into account the total power generated, initial capital cost, cost of replacement, cost of finance, operational cost and longevity/reliability.

    Not everywhere has oceanside air speeds. Some places have hardly any during portions of the year. Texas is the largest wind powered generation int he US by volume, and july-september are pretty darn lean compared to the rest of the year. However, for places which must have remote generation and live on batteries - running some of these into charge controllers and then drawing from battery could be quite useful, even with solar panels also charging the same batteries and the charge controllers knowing about each other. Often a good complementary setting where combined wind and solar make a more steady output through the entire day.

    5m/s is 18 km per hour ! Name any place that averages that and does not average at least 700W per metre squared of solar radiation for at least 6 hours per day..

  • @AnalystPrime
    @AnalystPrime ปีที่แล้ว +3

    More efficient how? The problem with the complex turbine shape is that there is no way to scale it much bigger, and there is just no way that any kind of wind turbine with all the moving parts needs less maintenance than solar which just has to be washed occasionally if there hasn't been rain recently. Winds change daily even if trends can be somewhat predicted by season and location, but there are plenty of areas where we could build solar and be certain clouds will only happen about once a year; saying solar is more dependent on weather is ridiculous.
    This turbine may or may not produce useful amounts of power and may or may not do so affordably, but these claims are about as useful as snake oil ads and only make it sound more suspicious.

    That Betz Limit is only valid for horizontal bladed turbines whereby the blades are impacted only once by any "packet" of wind. Some new (patent pending) wind turbines have the rotor impacted more than once and at a higher velocity

    *All practical tests show that small wind turbines hardly generate any electricity - and only at costs very significantly above 1€/kWh!*
    There is hardly any wind near the ground, and it is also very gusty, which extremely reduces the service life of the systems.
    *With pv solar systems, you can reliably generate electricity for about 3 - 10 cents/kWh over a period of 25 years!*

    You know what ? Post a data sheet with the actual generation in watts in 5 minute intervals through a whole year, and the accompanying wind speeds (might be useful to know the compass direction changes too. Lots can be learned from that which theory only portends.

    *All practical tests show that small wind turbines hardly generate any electricity! And only at very high costs.*
    Because there is hardly any wind close to the ground. It is also extremely gusty, which usually shortens the service life.
    Only if you need to be self-sufficient from the power grid, you should buy a small wind turbine.
    *With solar modules, on the other hand generate electricity reliably for 25 years at approx. 3-10 cent/kWh!

    There is no way that you can compare the efficiency of solar and wind power. One works best in strong light and the other in winds above a certain level. You may (rarely) live somewhere where one or the other provides all your needs, but the two are complementary. Why do we get so many fake confrontational items misleading the public?

    Regardless of how the wind turbine is engineered and constructed, there simply isn’t enough wind density to make it a viable energy producer. The socialist USA government WONT LET UP WITH THEIR LIES AND MISINFORMATION REGARDING ENERGY. Discuss this with a power engineer. They will tell you that wind density is the variable in the equation which doesn’t add up.
