What is Gallium Nitride (GaN)
Gallium Nitride (GaN) is a wide bandgap semiconductor material.
Because of the wide bandgap (3.4 eV), the GaN is typically used in photonics (In Blue LEDs and Laser diodes)
But because of its other distinct advantages over Silicon, in many power electrons and high-frequency applications, it is preferred over the silicon.
Advantages of GaN over Silicon:
1) High breakdown strength (Size of the GaN device will be smaller than Si device)
2) Can withstand high voltage and high temperature more reliability
3) More efficient than Si (Lower Heat Dissipation )
4) High Switching Frequency (smaller device footprint)
Applications of GaN in electronics:
1) Compact and More Efficient AC-DC and DC-DC converters in Power Electronics
2) Electric Vehicles
3) LEDs and Lasers
4) Microwave Amplifiers
5) Aerospace components
6) Fast Chargers for smartphone/tablet/laptop
This video will be helpful to everyone in understanding what is Gallium Nitride, the advantages of GaN over silicon, and how GaN can be used in different electronic applications.

It is better if you provide english subtitle to give more understanding. Thanks
@@ahmadfawwaz7748 The subtitles have been added now. You can check if required.

This guy has taught me more electronics than my bachelor's degree
Thank you! this give me a lot of insights before deciding my master's degree program
Great video!! Thank you so much for this well researched video, it really helped me a lot and just as importantly, it was really, really, easy to understand.
You do a good job by giving us information about electronics
Oh my god this is the best👌🏻👌🏻
VERY INTERESTING AND INFORMATIVE
Very interesting and knowledge increasing lesson. Well done Rushal.
Excellent explanation! Thanks sir.
Excellent...
I'm get a lot of learn from your video
Really quality content for GaN
This is a nice video that ties together the technology, applications, and manufacturing. TI’s nextFETs are pretty competitive with GaN as far as loss goes in sub 10W loads. I am really curious about the RF implications of GaN. The maturity of CMOS means that this tech has to complete with the intrinsic gains and FTs of processes like 45nm CMOS. I am not sure if the improved dielectric constant makes up for the difference in device size as of yet.
Nice video thanks brother
Make a video about Griffin technology used in battery🙏🏻
Hai make a video about EMI and EMC testing principal and basic...I am expecting that video from you with clear information
Hi there,I see there is huge demand occurring for semiconductors today and is Gallium nitrates comes in demand for next decade? And if yes do you any industry who produces GnA
Could you reduce the word speed and lower the pauses between words (same sentence speed)? Some words are pronounced to fast for me making them difficult to understand. Great vid!
Dhinchak pooja will be having million likes but such a superb video will not be getting even 1k like why??😭
Please explain radar, microwave radar, millimeter wave radar, antenna please
What kind of language has that been! Sound very interesting.
Sir please add the lecturers of class 12th board applied electronics phadke publication
AND ITS UNSTABILE AND EXPLOSIVE
Computers, GPU's?
I can animate for you
Let me animate your video
Cant understand anything without subtitles 😂
