The 3rd of the 4 Sonic Forces mashups I've previewed last year - Originally pitched as "Infinite Park", but went with a similar title to my last Fist Bump mega mashup. For the longest time now, I have been avoiding other Infinite/LP mashups (aside from maybe 2 earliest on) just so I wouldn't get too inspired - I wanted to go in fresh for the most part & possibly create a story with this mashup, kinda like how I did with my Fist Bump mashup. However, 1 of the mashups I've seen before that gave me some inspiration was SoulofDespair's Infinite mashup ( • Sonic Forces X Linkin ... ) - It inspired me to try out LP instrumentals more!
Infinite is such an interesting character to me. We unfortunately didn't get to see much of/about him, but that way made it more fun for the imagination to run wild. In this mashup, I loved the idea of 2 minds fighting over control of a single entity - The prideful & calm sadist (Infinite + Phantom Ruby) & the primal, vengeful former self (Infinite pre-Ruby). I like to think that at some point, Infinite's former self (which he casted off after being "reborn") will seep through the cracks as impulsive rage, making him dangerously unpredictable. At this point, we don't know if he's in full control (by the end of Forces) or the Ruby. Either way, it's a really cool concept that I tried to implant in this mashup, as well as making me like this character so much more!
Because of the lack of instrumental for the theme of Infinite, I included the 1st two Infinite battle themes. Although looking back, I think the lack of an instrumental is a good thing - looking for full clear acapellas for Faint is impossible as of typing this. Also, having other Infinite themes allowed me to experiment with other acapellas as well as using instrumentals pieces from Linkin Park songs, something that I rarely do.
This is probably one the grandest videos I've made as of late, took a long time of experimenting & testing. There are probably other things I want to say about this, but I'm so burnt out right now, hope you guys enjoy this long-awaited video (& hopefully lives up to expectation)! =D

At first, when I heard this song for the first time, I thought the song was referring those four lines to Infinite alone, but the more I re-heard the song the more it made sense that they were talking about the specific Sonic boss (although most people get the metal sonic/shadow parts confused, though you nailed it)

Each one of them also kind of represents an era of Sonic games. Metal is the classic Genesis era, Chaos is the Dreamcast/Adventure games, Shadow is the "Dark Age" games, Zavok is the modern boost games, and Infinite is Forces and everything going forward.

Ever since Chester died I couldn't bring myself to listen to his music again. But this......this made me rediscover my love for Linkin Park as a band. You did Chester a big favor by making this. I bet he's smiling down on you for making this mash up so god damn wonderful. I've listened to this mashup at least seven times since discovering it and it never fails to give me chills down my spine to hear the raw power behind the voices. This truly is a masterpiece above all LP mash ups I've heard. This one I will definitely come back to. It's given me back something I've missed for so long, which was the feeling of power Linkin Park gave me my whole life since I was three (20 years later and I'm still a huge fan) and the overall anger and rage you can hear in both Chester and Mike's voices in their lyrics and verses. You definitely outdid yourself here, and I want to personally thank you for making this and helping me rediscover my love for the band. Thank you so much.

Infinite's Theme is one of those tracks that while belonging to a rather bashed game, it is a gem for a series that gets more hate than it deserves. The OST of the Sonic games has always remained strong and this just cements that.

The most infuriating thing about Forces for me isn't that it was a bad game. It was that is showed a lot of brief glimpses of a good game but then always fell flat on it's ass seconds later
Ikr, Forces had so much potential but unfortunately it fell flat. Infinite as a character is cool just needed a stronger boss battle and a better backstory and he would have been as loved as Shadow was.

I mean, he's portrayed as an unstoppable force of chaos, and the lyrics of his theme would suggest that he has outright godlike abilities and is under Eggman's control unwillingly, think Time Eater. Honestly it feels like this is what was planned for him until one of the writers suggested that Shadow call him weak. Get what I mean?

Edge is really good when you lean into it. I think it's why Shadow, Punisher and other popular edgy characters were so loved. Bad edge is when you make an edgy character but don't fully commit. If you want dark, cool and over emotional then you have to commit otherwise it just looks silly

Forces had a good OST with the avatar stage songs being more preferable, but compared to other games OSTs, Forces doesn't even make top 10 even if the effort was clearly still there.

Someone with a theme song that edgy deserved powers that would make sans jealous, a backstory that makes Darth Vader look like a sissy and foreboding enough to make you genuinely scared and nervous to fight him. Although in video game bosses the line between scary and frustrating can be pretty blurry sadly. Maybe in a well-written movie with an INFINITE budget *ahem* it would be cool.

I got cold chills from listening to this not because I love the Infinite song itself but because of the fact that Linkin Park was part of this mix. I'm 17 and I grew up with Linkin Park starting from What I've Done to a few of the newest song and I can safely say that I was devastated when I heard about Chester's passing. The fact that this mix managed to almost bring a tear to my eye as well as giving me cold chills in the process just makes me extremely happy. This is a love letter to Sonic as a whole and Linkin Park. You've got my sub, now keep on truckin' my friend.

This literally suprised me to a fault. I had no expectations going into this one, and I was BLOWN AWAY!! Hahaha! This is so amazing! Personally, just between you and me (and obviously the rest of these people that see the comments), I'm eventually wanting to start up a channel myself, once I have the necessary equipment (I'm rather broke at the moment seeing as how I don't have a job as a senior about to graduate high school, and am quite unprepared, but aside from that), with me doing vocal covers with added instrumentation of my own to official or extremely well-made instrumentals.
Anyway. My point is, I would love to do covers of these mash-ups you made, more specifically a lot of the Sonic franchise X Linkin Park ones (with a few others here and there). I mean once I get started with the channel and feel ready for it, I'll check back up with you, but I just wanna go ahead and ask if that's alright with you seeing as how it kinda basically is your intellectual property and everything. That breakdown was one of my favourite parts to work on! I got the acapella from searching on TH-cam at the time (I used the acapella from the Reanimation mix).

I REALLY hope SonicTeam actually does something with Infinite. The IDW team was barred from using or even mentioning him, so I was sure he'd return in Frontiers, but nothing. Which sucks because he's got a ton of potential- motherfucker beat Sonic so bad that the entire world was convinced he was dead

This is surreal how many songs are playing while a GMV and Music Video monsoon of a montage go through the screen.I feel bad thinking this would be another meme filled salt storm when you gave us such a pretty and unique thing.
Why is this only just NOW being recommended to me?! This is one of the best mashups I've listened to in a long time, as both a lifelong Sonic and Linkin Park fan, this all flows fluidly and naturally, and just puts the biggest smile on my face. Fantastic work! My only complaint is I can't favorite this more than one time.
There’s a reason I STILL listen to this after five years. The problem with a lot mashups these days, in this tiktok era of just throwing two random songs together and not even caring if they don’t actually sound good together because “it’s just a joke”, mashups just don’t sound good anymore.
This mashup does not follow suit. This is almost ten songs blended together seamlessly. There’s not a second in this almost 9 minute long masterpiece where anything clashes. Every song harmonizes and blends together to the point where an untrained ear that is unfamiliar with Sonic Forces and LP might mistake it for one huge song. That right there is how you know you’ve made something great. There’s no other word for it. It is simply peak
