His English is so cute!!! Haha it's really good for someone that learned in middle school. No only what he did was amazing, his personality alone made what he was doing even more amazing. Something so simple had me smiling the entire time. Thanks for sharing.
I've seen many different versions of this, and they say the same thing while making it. But this guy is different the way he makes it. He say it with emotion and seems like he enjoys it. ^^
Aquila935 Well, whenever you gonna eat streetfood, take a big camera with you and they will blow ur mind x) Don't expect that they do it for everyone ^^ PS: I just found out it's no honey they use. It's just sugar with syrup and stuff... damn liar.
I know this is a per-rehearsed routine they do. I've seen many other videos of their same shtick. But this is the first one I saw but something about this guy in particular I keep coming back to this video. There's just something about this guy. He's just so charismatic and forms actual chemistry with the person filming that is just unique.
@@SaintsTantrum they all work for the same company. It's essentially a script they all learn when they take the job but you're right. This guy's video was the first that went viral all those years ago. I saw it on Ebaums World back in like '07. Still the best salesman in my opinion.
I have seen this kid before in a different video, isnt it so great how he does that candy and how he goes out his way to impress the buyers by putting a fantastic show with jokes..You gotta love this kid not only is he hustling but also manages to keep a smile and make people smile too!!!
I swear to god they have a school for this, I've seen a few different vids of guys making this dessert and I have been to a stall myself in Korea and they all say the same thing! It's crazy weird lol
A lot of sales jobs involve learning scripts/pitches. Every salesperson puts their own spin on it usually, but the pitch is going to be really similar when it's the same product.
I saw this when I went on a study tour in Seoul, but instead of one person they had three staffs and they were in synched. Needless to say they convinced me and my friends to buy a lot. It was delicious...
I like that guy a lot. I love his performance while making that dessert. "Over 16 thousand strings! woOOow!" "Like in English, they say 'Oh Mah Gawd! O-M-G!'" THIS... This guy is the sort of people I have run into all over the world when travelling. And the sort of experiences that come with global travel that make me long to travel (so long as I have a homebase to return to). So good!
I seen plenty of videos of other guys making these candies. But this guys is absolutely the most charming one. His smile and his humour is just sweet, and makes us interrested. I watched the other guys too, but they didn´t made me rofl as this guy did. Lol his English is just OH EM GEE xD
There's little stands like this all over seoul area. They say the exact same thing in every stand. Its really entertaining! And I heard the candies taste great
What the hell do you know about marketing? This guy is genuinely sweet, and he's got an interesting, quaint shop where he seems to be delighting tourists. Effective marketing is setting yourself apart from you're competition by providing something unique. I know this because it's what I do professionally. This guy is so innately good, he's done this unintentionally by sheer force of personality. In fact, he's so good at what he does, he just made it up the charts on Reddit.
He could be the best math teacher ever and really make it interestin for the pupils, with that understanding of math and in the way he goes around it. Or he could teach anything else as well and still sneak in the math that way.
When I was a kid, there was a guy who would make this once or twice a year on the streets of Chinatown NYC. I always bought a big box if I ran into him. The name in Chinese translates to "Dragon Whisker Candy"
no shit it is a practised choreography, but it is the attitude and the smiles they keep on their faces that earns their dollars (or won to be precise). In a land where formalities and politeness is a given, impressing anyone there with their repeated smiles and motions for hours and hours is not easy and should be appreciated.
Probably in heavy tourist / business centers. I know here in Florida, in our main tourist areas we have a lot of places where there are signs (at businesses / restaurants) in various different languages.
He is so funny, and cute too! I seen many videos of those honey string candies. When I go to Korea I will make sure to stop by Insadong to see those guys make these candies and try one of the candies :)
Korean is very kind! Because we think everyone is my family. Korean even call strange person aunt! When you come to Korea, you will be able to feel warmth.
i tried this... it "somewhat" worked... But i could never get the mix of the honey correct at all! It was either to hot or to cold... And then it either falls apart or it just breaks up!
I've tasted this when I was kid in Korea If you go to cultural tourism places, they sell them on the street as well (also malls and so on but It's better to get it on the spot) It literally melts in your mouth, because the honey is so thin and the mixtures of nuts and traditional sweet beans, sort of keep you away from being disgusted from the sugar flavor. You can eat a lottttttttt of street food in Korea at a cheap price
His English is so cute!!! Haha it's really good for someone that learned in middle school. No only what he did was amazing, his personality alone made what he was doing even more amazing. Something so simple had me smiling the entire time. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you
9 years later I still keep coming back to this video because this vendor makes me smile.
Same. It's been almost 13 years now and I'm STILL watching him make honey candy. I've even been to his cart. So good.
I've seen many different versions of this, and they say the same thing while making it. But this guy is different the way he makes it. He say it with emotion and seems like he enjoys it. ^^
I want a hug from this man
He's too adorable
Me too!
*This makes me happy.* I saw this back in 2013 and I always come back to watch it. Bless this guy. His charisma is *everything.*
I love this semi-tutorial. And OMG...his accent is adorable. Lolling lolling lolling! Wooow!
Oisin T.
He is just precious! I got this candy while in Korea and they love your reactions! Wonderful people, Koreans. Love them! I felt like a queen!
When he said: In English Oh my god, Omg. I just laughed really loud he was so cuteee *-* lmaoo
Aquila935 Well, whenever you gonna eat streetfood, take a big camera with you and they will blow ur mind x) Don't expect that they do it for everyone ^^

he's like the living embodiment of the doge meme. such skill. much strings. wow.
I think you mean wooooooow
One of the coolest guys I've seen .
Korean middle school baby :D
Every person who does this kinda say the same thing but i've never seen anyone that is cute as he is
Thanh Dinh I know right! even though they are all saying almost the same lines but he is kinda different is some way. more friendly, maybe?
I think he was the original who became famous for the way he talks and the others copied him.
@@SaintsTantrum they all work for the same company. It's essentially a script they all learn when they take the job but you're right. This guy's video was the first that went viral all those years ago. I saw it on Ebaums World back in like '07. Still the best salesman in my opinion.
That's not weird either. Lots of low skill work comes with a script.
That guy knows his powers of 2, he should go for computer science
Patrick John Malihan am asian, can confirm.
Actually 16,384 strings.
Can confirm, counting in powers of 2 is like half of what we do.
oh my gosh he's adorable!!!
You're a fan of Asian shows?
Israel Moreno Very much so ^.^
사만다 매 왓슨 cool
사만다 매 왓슨 what else do you watch?
Israel Moreno just Korean stuff
I've seen a few videos and even though it's the same script, it makes me smile each time, they've got the greatest charisma.
If Korea is smart enough, government should hire him as traditional department introduce-r, very impressive
I have seen this kid before in a different video, isnt it so great how he does that candy and how he goes out his way to impress the buyers by putting a fantastic show with jokes..You gotta love this kid not only is he hustling but also manages to keep a smile and make people smile too!!!
aww, "give me a hand" haha he seems to be a famous honey string maker, this is the third video I've seen of him doing this
You're awesome chingu
He is adorable! This makes me smile just because he seems so happy.

I've watched a bunch of videos like this, and this one is still my favorite. This guy is the best!

This young gentleman is one incredibly charming individual. Such genuine enthusiasm, I love it!
He must be happy because he makes other people happy for a living!

I saw this when I went on a study tour in Seoul, but instead of one person they had three staffs and they were in synched. Needless to say they convinced me and my friends to buy a lot.
It was delicious...

Awwwww he is sooooo cute : )
Watching this video always improves my day.
So, is it common to have signs in japanese, korean and english like that in korea?
Probably in heavy tourist / business centers. I know here in Florida, in our main tourist areas we have a lot of places where there are signs (at businesses / restaurants) in various different languages.
This oppa is just so adorable !!!!!
I bet he tastes like sugar, too - he's so sweet
