To be honest.The farm tape when Amanda said “I see a mommy chicken, a baby chicken” when she saw the daddy chicken she stops for a while and said “…and I see a daddy chicken.” That honestly makes me think about Sam,when she said that it almost looks like the real Amanda(Rebecca) got reminded of her dad
something i noticed that kinda relates to this is the kitten in that tape. when she talks about the kitten and you say you won't help it, she starts crying, hinting that she's actually relating herself to the kitten. not to mention, the news tape says that she needed some time away from the public eye to process the events; then, in the accident tape, when you type "nobody," she says that you're probably right, hinting this is how rebecca felt.

I Googled ars goetia and read about it. There was a point and click game called goetia by square Enix collective which I assume this game is inspired by. Jay, I hope you see this!
When Jay pointed out at 1:02:53 that Rebecca might be Amanda, I was saying the same exact thing, if you listen each time Amanda talks about family, she gets upset. Even when she was looking at the kitten, she put herself in that perspective when she got abandoned by Sam. And Also at the scene where Rebecca got taken into the closet with the doctor is where they did something to her which made her Amanda.

This is all theory, but I believe that Rabecca's mind or soul might be trapped in the game, and since she's a child, her brain is still developing, and so being trapped has her memories slowly being altered or fuzzed, but deep down she still has those memories of Sam and she just wants him back.
sam didnt abandon her. if anything he wanted what Hamlin doing to stop, hamlin was most likely the cause of sam dissappaercne, and thats when they traped Rebecca into the tv and made her a entity. aka. amanda.

@@coolratse Indeed but they pushed the narrative that he abandoned her and the show. No doubt that they also convinced Rebecca that he abandoned her. It's not clear if she believes it but she clearly misses her dad dearly. There's leeway on whether or not she's angry at her dad for "leaving", if she's conflicted about it, or if she's simply sad. She calls herself as "sad and lonely". It's good that there's a margin of interpretation!

Your theory is the exact one I formulated in my head while I was watching both Cory's and your playthrough. Rebecca was roped into signing away her soul (albeit a child), and at first I believed the dad Sam was straight up cold-hearted, but seeing him try to stick up for Rebecca in one of the tapes and get her away from whatever voice recognition thing was happening made me change my mind. I believe Sam went in with the intention of providing joy to the world from his little girl who he derived a lot of his inspiration from based off of the hardships she faced from such a young age. Due to him having this idea and wanting it to succeed, being approached by a company was a step in what he believed was the right direction in order to become successful from Amanda the Adventurer. Ultimately, Hameln brought Rebecca in and had her sign a sheet that acted as her consent to any experiments they went through; the droplets of Celtic-themed writing and the idea of energy transfer makes me believe that Hameln is some sort of company with cultist-like ties that specialize in transferring the souls of people into any form they want. This isn't entirely explored in the game and I think it'd be interesting to see. Hameln acquired the rights to creating the animated version of ATA, and in order to provide the show with the essence of Rebecca, they captured her soul and trapped it in the production. Rebecca still being out there along with her altered figure seems as if Hameln has plagued her with some sort of disease - whether a literal disease or the invasiveness of one - that has caused her soul to be implanted into the tapes, and the farther she is from her true disposition, the more she rots away. The anger she has towards Wooly makes me believe that at times, Wooly represents someone who monitors an experiment and is caught in a crossfire. I feel like the hostility Amanda has towards Wooly is because he could be a figure similar to her father (personality wise), or represent some sort of break from the show and the reality of the situation. Amanda's anger feels like displacement when directed at Wooly, resentment penting up inside her for allowing his daughter to be trapped in an animated world, where her body is far away from her and unable to be connected with her conscious. The missing children are all seeming to be used in the success of this program, and the show lures children to what I believe is the place of operation for Hameln. Maybe Amanda (the physical form) acts as some sort of myth come true that Hameln uses as a weapon in conjuction with luring children with the show, where Amanda physically then harvests their souls for whatever purpose the company wants to fulfill.

It seems way more likely that she and her father were lured into a trap and killed (mr. fox metaphor)--hence why Rebecca can feel her body rotting although her consciousness is trapped in the show
Agree with like 98% of what you said, I think Amanda represents both Rebecca and whatever demon has taken over, and the further you stray from the planned path of how a child would respond (wanting to give the correct answer, or shouting at the tv) the more the demon gets annoyed with you and shows itself. I don’t think Rebecca has any ill intentions towards you the viewer, or fully comprehends what is doing on, she’s just stuck in this perpetual kids character in the tapes and can’t communicate herself, like in the tape with all the shops turning to butchers and her screaming and being confused. Really cool story in my opinion.

the secret tape is actually a episode of a series wooly was supposed to have. all it is is just wooly sitting there and doing nothing. he even hears a gunshot and does nothing. i think wooly is actually a representation of the directors. seeing how wooly tries to distract the viewer whenever amanda feels sad as if nothing was truly wrong. distractin them from the truth. which is probably why amanda wants to kill him so bad.
that form she wrote, it was probably a way to keep rebecca quiet, so that they can use her and abuse her like the doll represents. the team definitely had something to do with their deaths

does anyone remember in the early versions of amanda the adventure, wooly said he was allergic to apples, yet, he was ready to dig into that apple pie? plus in tape 3 it didnt look like wooly survived the butcher, what if amanda created a doppelgänger to replace wooly?
I will say that you aren’t totally off with Amanda and Rebecca being the same person. You can tell from how she responds right at the end saying she’s out there, but also through the whole play through she says lines like “I don’t know..” or like she’s confused almost. Even when she was like so mad at the face that we couldn’t help her. Then when you put sams name in there she’s like “how do you know.” So it honestly can be Rebecca trapped and I do think wooly can be either Sam or someone else. So I agree with the theory
Heard someone say the weird lines they made Rebecca read sounded similar to actual demon names (Bye Yell - Bael, Pie man - Paimon, Ba lamb - Balam). Maybe the reason why Amanda is this demonic entity is because the person who's possessing her was the one who chanted the demons' names. Just a silly theory tho

The reason I find this game so unique, is that no matter what you do, there is an unexplained story, that possibly any theory could be right. Jays vision of Sam getting countered by a cult could be true, or, the producers did something to her and the dad Sam was hypnotized, there's so many possibilities.

I think the person recording the tape with amanda, sam, the director, and the man in the headphones is Danny, the containment specialist. I think this because they seem to be guarding that door in the other tape with the contract. I think as punishment for recording that, they put Danny into the show as Wooly, because if you answer wrong about the birthday card, Wooly's name gets changed to 5 question marks, which also fits Danny's name. I guess it goes to show that you should never be a sheep to sus companies.

I have a small theory.
Basically, when Rebecca is in that room with her father and a director, her father and the director are speaking when out of the blue she says "No, I'm not going to do that" and her father asks who she's talking to. She says "the man in the headphones" Many people think that she was talking about a man WEARING headphones. I think it's actually a man talking to her through headphones that she could've been wearing. The director told Sam that she was just saying some words that they were recording her saying for a technological voice recognition. When people professionally record someones voice, the person speaking, singing ect. are wearing a pair of headphones so they hear what they sound like. Now I'll tie up some loose ends to my theory. I think someone from Hameln connected to the headphones and was telling her to kill her father. When she said no, they took matters into her own hands and killed Sam. And when Amanda said "Sometimes... I feel myself... rotting... But it feels far away!" (This next part is a common theory) Maybe Hameln people killed Rebecca and she is rotting far away in a ditch or something. That person in the ski mask and red coat might be a person from Hemeln coming to either #1: Explain what happened and Apoligize, #2: Kill the person that Jay was playing as or #3: Ask if the person Jay is playing as for help/ for him to work for/with Hemeln. That's the end of my theory.

My theory is the people in the room when Rebecca is saying stuff like pie man, those are demon names, but what if it's some sort of curse. So if you say it your soul gets transferred to the show, and Sam said it later, and got transferred to the show as wooly, which explains why hes so protective about Amanda and wants her to be happy, and after he went missing, Rebecca said all 3 phrases and got transferred to the show too as Amanda, and that the phrase is a phrase for a cult, so when ever children see the show, they get up and just leave because they were hypnotized, and the cult is accually the show company, and when they get the kids they put them into the show, which they become the items, like the fridge, or oven, and that's why in the duplicate episodes, there are new alive things, and since Amanda is the main character, she has all this power, but Rebecca doesn't know how to control it, that's why the world is so corrupt in the show, and the more she's corrupts the show the more she becomes evil. And also the anger makes her more angry too. That's all I have for now

My theory is that woolie isn’t the dad but Amanda is Rebecca, when she says “I can feel myself rotting” and “ I’m out there somewhere” she means that the creators of Hameln ended Rebecca and she was sacrificed to the demons they had her name, as for woolie I believe that he is either the man with the headphones or he is the producer which is why Rebecca is doing those terrible things to woolie, well that’s my theory let me know what you think about it.
