3:24 I can relate so much to this. I’ve gone to Islamic school for most of my life and my family does everything we’re required to do as Muslims, but as a kid I never really understood the meaning of it or had that special connection with Allah (SWT). This past year though, Alhamdulillah, as I hit puberty and became an adult (in Islam), It just kinda hit me, “I need to start praying. It’s fard now”. So I did. Then I started noticing the way I dress. I didn’t show a lot of skin but I wore t shirts and leggings. I did research and found out what is acceptable and what isn’t and the different schools of thought on various topics, and what I believe based on the Quran. So I began to change what I wore. I started telling my mom, who buys all my clothes, “i need to be more modest mama. I need to get loose pants and dresses and things.” She has different standards of what she’s comfortable wearing. She’s ok with wearing leggings and showing some hair in her hijab. So lots of times she just told me “yea yea” or “it doesn’t matter it’s ok” mostly she would just brush it off. I simply started to act like I didn’t like something when we were shopping and the item of clothing wasn’t up to my standards. Alhamdulillah, my modesty has improved tons. Around the same time I also put on the hijab. Learning about and understanding modesty and the reasons Allah commanded us made me want to wear the hijab. And I never regretted it Alhamdulillah! I’ve always wanted to memorize Quran and it’s been a dream of mine for a long time to become a Hafiza. (Still working toward that goal, inshAllah one day.) I started to read and memorize more and asked my parents for a Quran teacher. All of this is great and I am so grateful that Allah has made it easier for me and that i feel so much more content now..but the thing is once I kinda started actually practicing Islam and understanding it and loving it, once I made it my lifestyle and the most important thing in the world to me, my family, including my parents, sisters, cousins, aunts, and grandparents, started saying things like “oh she’s so extreme” “She’s so religious 😒”. My cousin overheard my mom and her sisters talking about me saying things like I’m too extreme about my hijab, (they wear theirs very loosely and many times it falls down and lots of hair and neck shows, not that I’m judging them, just showing the difference in how we wear it) they seemed annoyed. It hurt my feelings a lot, but in the end I made du’aa for them, because we shouldn’t judge one another right? If someone seems more religious, let them be, they do it by choice. And if someone seems less religious, same for them, let them be. Leave the judgement to Allah. It’s not our place to judge each other. Thank you brothers and sisters for listening to my story Assalamualaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu✨
That's so beautiful! May Allah keep you on Iman and taqwah always! Please only make duaa for them to start coming closer to Allah SWT and following his and his messenger pbuh sabeel well! Jazakallah khairan katheran sister!
Everything you said was true. We really shouldn't judge people and we should always let them be, and I'm glad you did that with your mom and sisters. And the fact that you even prayee for them just warmed my heart. Being "extreme" or "too religious" is completely wrong, you're just doing what you're supposed to do. People should be like you, and inshAllah I'll hopefully start wearing the hijab myself too.
MASHALLAH GIRL Inshallah Allah will keep improving your faith, and though i dont mean any offense, start improving your family's faith as well. I'm so proud of you for becoming more religious! but its not nice for others to backtalk you for it, especially when it contains the factors of Islam and family. I hope they improve like you did and they stop talking about you like that.
Equality of Men and Women The Quran makes it clear that Women and Men are equal in the eyes of God One of the most misunderstood areas in Islam is that of the position of women in the religion. The general perception in the West is that Muslim women are subjugated and almost seen as property. While not all Muslims deal with women as inferior, this is unfortunately true in some segments of the Muslim world and this treatment is supposedly justified by the religion. However, when we look at the basis of the religion, the Quran, we see a very different picture. In the Quran God makes it very clear that men and women are equal. [3:195] Their Lord responded to them: "I never fail to reward any worker among you for any work you do, be you male or female - you are equal to one another. Thus, those who immigrate, and get evicted from their homes, and are persecuted because of Me, and fight and get killed, I will surely remit their sins and admit them into gardens with flowing streams." Such is the reward from GOD. GOD possesses the ultimate reward. [4:124] As for those who lead a righteous life, male or female, while believing, they enter Paradise; without the slightest injustice. Guaranteed Happiness Now and Forever [16:97] Anyone who works righteousness, male or female, while believing, we will surely grant them a happy life in this world, and we will surely pay them their full recompense (on the Day of Judgment) for their righteous works. Equality of Men and Women [33:35] The submitting men, the submitting women, the believing men, the believing women, the obedient men, the obedient women, the truthful men, the truthful women, the steadfast men, the steadfast women, the reverent men, the reverent women, the charitable men, the charitable women, the fasting men, the fasting women, the chaste men, the chaste women, and the men who commemorate GOD frequently, and the commemorating women; GOD has prepared for them forgiveness and a great recompense.

Also can I ask about the Ramadan Playlist ones? Can someone explain please?
( THANKS IN ADVANCE)
So we're supposed to not listen to music or do unproductive stuff 'especially' in Ramadan because it's a month where our good deeds are multiplied several times and so we do as much of productive things and whatever could count as worship. So they just switched their playlist to this Arabic letter song bcuz the language in Quran is Arabic and so they're still getting to listen to something upbeat and it's not necessarily a great substite for music bcuz obviously this is music too but it's not necessarily haraam either . I guess. But it's like a joke. They're probably not actually gonna listen to that.
I made it really long. Sorry 💛
