When people say time travel is not possible, I feel sad for them when this can take so many of us back entire decades in a flash. Reality can be a matter of simple perception.

I remember watching Aliens for the first time after having played Starcraft and Halo 1 and suddenly got the references, it was sort of overwhelming, "Go go go! The corps ain't paying us by the hour!", plus the general design of the Pelican transport ship....made them lose a bit of magic but also made Aliens more awesome
This theme represents everything good thats ever happened in my life, as well as my savior from depressing times when I needed to get away. The emotional attatchment to this theme for me cannot be severed.
Same. Amazing music! Actually it's progressive metal; influenced by the best prog rock of the 70's, 80's and 90's. It's a bit Dream Theater'ish, of course. Some prog metal bands like Planet X have some songs that ressemble this. Love this theme, it links me to the best prog created in the late 20th century.
The Terrans have to be my favorite race, though I may be a bit biased. The Protoss were the first ones to come into contact with Amon and his Xel’naga followers. They achieved higher intelligence and independence from this interaction, but became to independent for Amon to control. They became so independent they began warring with one another on Aiur. Amon left, taking one tribe of Protoss with him, the Taldarim. He turns his sights to Zerus, home of the Zerg. He bent and bound a portion of their will to his own, eventually creating the Overmind to serve his goals. They leave Zerus to do war with the rest of the Xel’naga, who noticed Amon’s absence and his actions with the Protoss and Zerg. Amon and his armies are destroyed, save the Overmind and a good portion of the Zerg Swarm. Fast Forward a couple thousand years, the Protoss are prospering, the Zerg are expanding their influence, and 4 Terran ships filled with 40,000 miss their destinations and end up in the Koprulu sector in 2259. The Protoss notice the Terrans who arrived on Tarsonis, but choose not to interfere. The Terrans then spend the next 250ish years expanding and learning, becoming a dominant force in the Koprulu Sector. The Terrans are able to shatter the Swarm, leaving only remnants to be cleaned up. Not even the Protoss were able to completely break the Swarm, and they were assisted by the Xel’naga Ouros, under the guise of Tassadar. They did this not by having superior psionic skills, nor superior evolutions. It took Guts, Luck, and a whole lot of Terran Ingenuity. Just remember, Additional Supply Depots required.
Need a light ? I am so nostalgic ... I loved this game so much I still have the original CD with it and I will be happy to play the carrier over again ! Best SF game of its time . I only have one word left to say about this game : EPIC !
I feel like the art of crafting music for the terrans has always been about striking a balance between their space hillbilly complexes, as expressed with the country, and their resiliency with the hardcore techno and rock.
It’s so impressive how the 15 minutes of music that each sc1 race gets is so good at thematically matching what their race is about. Terrans are basically space Australians, a high tech race of ex cons with a rural frontier of planets that are thriving in a hostile environment based on a scrappy adaptability, and a general devil may care attitude. So their music is high energy bops, that have twangy guitars, hard rock, synths, and techno influences to represent that hodgepodge identity
Good thing the old StarCraft and Brood War OSTs are in Heart of The Swarm. You just need to look up in the options menu and select the appropriate option.

Gotta love Alien and Aliens (also, Alien³: Assembly Cut) for giving us StarCraft and the Bungie Halo games due to their influences.
Just got back into Starcraft after like 10 years. I forgot how hard this song went.
Yo. Just got back after 20 and at that 20 it was already 5.
My first encounter with this is 1999 / 2000
Protoss can have the better tecnology
Zerg can gave better... zergling
But terrans... have the better music
so true
terran is OP
terrans bunker+ tanks massive land defend

I hardly hear country here.
I guess there's not a large amount in the BW OST. Wings of Liberty, though, has a lot more.
It's a vibe that will one day become a popular genre. Mark my keystrokes.
Oh my gosh this theme gives me goose bumps and chills almost every time I listen to it. Long live Terran! Terran player for life!
