Had one for a couple years now, love it. The field of vision and lack of any real face contact are worth any amount of noise for me. Recently tried on some traditional full face offerings and was made aware of just how comfortable the Bullitt is in comparison. Can’t go back.
its the vent in the back...pulling the air in the front...try to put a little foam around the rear vent (Bernoulli effect) to slow down the suction...from the inside of the helmet.. You can use some of the foam that came with the helmet..the foam bag the helmet was in.
I did 3500km 2 weeks ago in Bell Bullitt and was awesome. I wear a face sock inside the helmet to stop the inside catching my as you suggested. The mirror and tinted visor are awesome the clear is only good for night time.
I wear it for one year. And I can give a big tips in reference of the loud of the wind. All depend of the angle of the helmet. You put you head in 90 grade no loud and wind to enter. And down you head to 80 or less grade. Enter a lot of wind and more loud.
Block, while the bike was moving, the mic was mildly distorted. When you were in the drive-thru, the mic was clear. The helmet looks good but, if anyone plans on recording, this probably isn't the best helmet option.
got a bullitt a few weeks ago, dont mind it being a bit noisey on my road glide with listening to the stereo thru the fairing speakers. just get a sena 20 with the slim speakers for a good fit in the dips as you call em , lol The best helmet ever in my opinion for field of view, comfort, and a non closed in feeling.
I have an 18 Road Glide also with a Klock Works 14" Tinted flare windshield... this windshield looks really great on the bike and it offers very good wind protection... when riding without a helmet I don't get much wind noise over my ears until I hit about 70mph. I've been looking at this helmet, I really like the looks of it and I like the big open face on it but people say that it's very noisy... I'm guessing they mean on a motorcycles without no fairing. What I'm wondering is if you already have good wind protection with a fairing is this helmet still noisy? I'm guessing no.
the mic does not capture that much wind noise on cruising speeds. that´s great. I got one last week and I´m getting a chin curtain immediately. That will shut the wind noise off for sure.
when the helmet is off remove the inserts and the foam ( if applicable ) put microfiber cloth ( breathable ) over the area ( about 4 inch x 4 inch will do ) use heat glue to hold in place. put everything back together , and ride again. kool looking helmet ! awsome video !!
When I go through the drive through on my sportbike I stick the bag between my belly and the tank. I always like the look you get when you go through on a bike. It’s like they are wearing the question on their face.
If air is coming in, it needs a way to go out. That's why when the exhaust vent is blocked it's quieter, there's no air flow! All you'd be doing is ramming air in and slightly pressurizing your helmet at speed.
It's a cool lookin helmet. The style and the view angle is probably the strongest points. The noise level, visor opening options and the fact that you can't close the vents(rain) makes it a turn off imo. I have been in the market for a full face helmet so thank you for your review(s). Keep it up Block.
I know when I did my recording setup that I had to move the mic all over the place to keep it clean and not clip....you were able to do it just fine right out of the gate...I didnt think the noise was coming through at all...we were REALLY able to hear your bike and you talk with no issues whatsoever. This helmet isnt designed to be like a full blown Shoei or Arai, its a vintage helmet....you want that look then you are going to have some sacrifices, thats just the nature of the beast. I figure that if you arent recording that you are listening to music so the wind noise is going to be negligible anyhow. The bigger thing is that its comfortable and will protect your noggin in a crash. If you want it to vent great, then you are gonna have wind noise...there are no ways around that. Even my Arai Corsair X has wind noise if I open all the vents up........oh yeah....looks like you have a righteous beard!! :-P Also, if you wanna close up that rear vent, just pull the padding again and toss some electrical tape over it....but then you wont get that flow through venting....
1 minute in; clear vocals, good sound from bike. No change needed. You do however have a dark spot on right side of rider (1st person) view.. not sure if dirt or defect. It's an extreme critique, and no deal breaker, but a point to mention. Counter that with a love of the reflection from that mile'o'glass of a shield. Keep it up BlockPrime.
Anyone know if there is a chin curtain or neck gaiter available for this helmet? I have one and the wind noise is terrible. After 2 hours on the highway, my ear drums are messed up.
Yo Blockhead... my Bullitt (Large) is a tad tight & I heard u say Bell sent u pads for the next size up. Did it make a big enough difference that I should try & order the XL pads? And do u think the XL pads would work on a Large since it’s a different shell size? Appreciate any feedback u might have. Enjoy the videos dude🤘
A great review I have the same issue trying to fit the speakers for my Sena It really messes up your ears did you figure out a workaround? Thanks again
Block, tell Bell we need a independent safety Lab test! NOT a fashion test and sales pitch test. Truly a disservice to us riders. I would have refused if I where you my friend! Let’s face it, the true essence and purpose of a helmet is saving our lives.. and respectfully block, your no independent safety lab technician! Stay vigilant my friend and ride safe.
Good and honest review.. I have this helmet and wear it without a visor but I do have a windshield.. I ride a 2012 Nightster XL1200N and I enjoy it. Love the FOV and its better then wearing a half helmet lol
Great video. I love my Bullitt Triple Threat. Yeah, there's a lot of wind noise but the angle of view is amazing. I recently launched a motovlog channel myself and I have to admit that I'm struggling a bit getting the audio dialed in and all the noice canceled. I just switched from a mount very similar to yours and a GoPro 4 Silver to a DIY setup with a Session 5 and a TASCAM DR-05. But I'm still short of the really high quality in your videos. Your channel is one of the one's that inspired me to get my own channel going. Thanks for all of your great content!
I went to get one of these but stopped after seeing the sharp test which wasn't good, one side is weaker than the other and there is a guy on TH-cam was wearing one in a slow crash who had brain bleed. Chin guard is weak on these too, but a sexy helmet lol.
Jason B which area are you based ? I tried an L which is my usual size in most helmets but i was an XL in this helmet. Its more suited to a round head shape tho I believe
Jason B do you have a Red Baron down there? Thats where i found one to try on, failing that a Bell stockist should be able to get one in for you to try.
Bell Bullitt RSD Bagger...This is the worst Helmet I've ever owned! Extremely noisy and rattles when traveling at high speeds! I've tried putting in larger pads to make it tighter but its no help. The helmet looks great, very comfortable, great visibility. Performance...... Disappointing! For the price I should of bought another Aria! Blockhead, you mentioned this would be a good around town helmet but not for the highway. I couldn't agree with you more! I'm trying to sell mine if anyone is interested. Only used it a handful of times. couldn't take the noise!
The Biltwell Lane Splitter is the best helmet I've ever owned. I had a Simpson SB and a Bell Bullitt before it, and it's better than both. It's more comfortable, quieter, breathes better, easier to strap, and the visor locking mechanism has adjustable 'clicks', which is SWEET. It's also cheaper and the visor color/grade selection is cheaper too. With the Simpson all I hear is wind turbulence, but with the Biltwell all I hear is exhaust, so they did something right with the insulation. The Bell I had fogged up so bad I had to get rid of it, and it's also no good for guys with substantial beards, as your beard will stick out of the bottom. The Biltwell isn't snell approved, but it'll save your life just the same.
Some designer kid draw this helmet as a thesis and Bell bought the rights to manufacture it. It's a fashion piece, not a safe option. The thin chin guard breaks easily and you'll have your teeth replaced with plastic pieces. I's quite sad because it is good looking.
@@rebel_ltz I don't have one. Where's the data. Is it just TH-cam comments you've been reading that claim such things? Bunch of aria fanboys who hate anything retro looking
Rain comes in everywhere, through the vents, around the shield, and up under the chin area. I still love mine because it's comfy and light. I'm too claustrophobic for the Schuberth and Arai helmets.
Hey block, I have a 48 sportster with the same handle bars Ms. Blockhead has. When I ride on the freeway and hit 70mph I feel like It’s going to start to wobble. Any thoughts? You think a fairing would help?
I don't know, the helmet looks nice, the view must be great but the sound yeah Also kinda doesn't have dat BLOCKHEAD look we got used to But I also kinda liked hearing ur bike Haha loved the drive-thru part

Chad Gilstrap is the noise really that noticeable?
Yeah Chad is the noise level on this helmet really that bad?

i put a small piece of foam in back and the noise went away, shove in the helmet you cant see it and the vent still functions

If people don't want wind noise should ride in a car. It's a motorcycle for crying out load.
What is your overall take on it? I’ve got a 19 road glide special, and always worn a brain bucket

They should build drive-thru's with a slight down hill slope, just for motorcycles.

Use some of that black reflective tap to cover it up so you’re more visible at night 🤷🏿♀️

how is that visor for night riding?
I need a new helmet but I'm decided if I wanna go with S&S again of pick up a Bell or SHOI ... so many options. Nice video Block
Drive-thru Fred Flintstone style.
Hey man for the first time I’m listening to your bike.........
Yo! Blockhead I agree with your review. I got a black bullitt helmet. Love the style and look. Feels a little tight but really load

I made a review of the helmet..and anything above 50mph..it is too hard to hear anything from a SENA or motovlog
The audio is definitely muffled, not as quality of the other helmet.
helmet looks great, audio quality wasn't as good as always but it was still very good
