Sushant jee, there is no harm of Nepali army being 1 lakh strong. See the number of employment created on every 4-5 months duration. See the amount of money it is bringing back to country when they are in service and even when they are not in the service.
As far as the financial matter is concerned be it known to you, Nepal Government is spending a very minimal budget in defense sector. Which is far lesser in amount than what actually is required.
Moreover May be you dont have idea that nepali army is bringing as much the money which equals to 1/3 of the annual budget allocated to it, from UN itself. Has any organization brought that much money to the country???? Plz don’t confuse the public by creating the narrative as if whole economy is drained just because of the army. After retirement also hundred and thousands of ex service men are in the foreign soil sending around billions of rupees to nepal, Just to help our country to accumulate the money in the name of tax and eventually to make it run with out any hitches. And to help people like u to freelance without getting to know its far reaching consequences.
Another notion on account of down sizing, i am perplexed whether the term is correct, is army should not be taken just as a tool of the nation. There is an analogy between man with weapon i.e. military and a snake. Their resemblance in an example is, you dont want to touch both of them with all your mind awake. Because regardless of the size you never know how venomous a snake is and same goes with the military.
Being an ordinary people you guys are attacking the morale of the military saying our army cannot fight. And at the core you dont know it is not the size that fights war rather it is a sheer belongingness, diehard love of the country and what not. Take the example of Afganisthan, is it not the victory of afganisthan against most sophisticated military of the world, take the example of Ukraine, Putin is gambling his future in Ukraine war, and having seen all this drama you fucking don’t stop to entertain in military discourse.
And you were comparing the size before and after the counter insurgency and you said people hang with the idea that the previous size was the right. My question here is has anybody done research on size of the army that match the best for today’s Nepal?

Cause military are skilled workers, they can easily get high paying jobs like mercs, plumber, gun dealer and firearm tranner etc in countries like Albania, Czech Republic, Guatemala, Ukraine, Mexico, the United States, Yemen, and Switzerland.Albania, Czech Republic, Guatemala, Ukraine, Mexico, the United States, Yemen, and Switzerland and earn more than 5x than unskilled labour
