Roman it really helped me, I got selected in IIT Kgp for Mtech through GATE-2016.(I am from NIT Rourkela).Definitely it helps. If you have studied at least something and you are preparing for any competetive exam you must have studied a lot of things, this trick actually gives you that 5-10 marks more and increase the confidence both of which you need most I know that.Thank you Roman.
this trick i knew in 12 th class itself when i was preparing for entrance examinations......but the problem is everybody knows that and everybody scores some 5-10 marks extra thereby making the net profit zero
Cleared upsc CDS with this approach thanks sir for the cheat codes 'pre existing knowledge' and common sense is very much required for it n nw I have no fear of negative marks 👏👏👍
I knew the elimination method very well during my CAT prep and it actually works. But during my CSE prep now a days, even i found out that there is more probability of "All of the above" than "none of the above". I solved a lot of questions and found it and now you assured me that i was right. Thank you Roman Sir. Now i am certainly going to attempt much more questions.
I've been sub-conciously implementing this method ever since i can remember even without realizing that i'm using it. But i never clear even prelims because i still lack a sufficient pre-existing knowledge base. Meaning you still have to study very hard (especially science background students) to attain a decent level of knowledge. Meaning this video will only work in the way its supposed to work, only if one is fairly well prepared for the exam. And speaking of Ira and other toppers, i find it very hard to believe that they would not have adopted this strategy(afterall they aren't idiots). They definitely followed this elimination etc etc method but managed to barely get to the cut-off level (as you've mentioned). This is clear proof in itself that this method doesnt stand much chance when it comes to a nationwide exam which even wikipedia defines as "....one of the toughest exams in the world...". So, to put it in a nutshell, what i really want to convey to my fellow aspirants watching this video is that this is not a magic formula that you can implement and swear on your grave that you're going to come out with flying colours. You still need to work as much as you've been working before seeing this video. Then only, the level of pre-existing knowledge that exams like the UPSC's demand from you would be met. Just an opinion.
+Thomas TK tungnung Since we r appearing for CSE so it is supposed that u have sufficient knowledge base and suppose we go to any exam or say 4th grade or even below without preparation its sure we cant be selected. also upsc is highly unpredictable so if sm1 claims ki bhai I have drank eaten all the books and then also he cant be 100% sure to get a berth in mains. I tried these tricks in gate, I got so many -ve marks. Examiner knows all these things in advance, In some questions I was able to eliminate 2 options and I guessed the answer with 50% probability of being correct but ended up getting -ve marks.. Yeah! eliminating options helps a lot, even then one should not guess if he/she is not sure or have some logic behind the answer..Guessing approach is helpful for the history,Gs, etc but this can not be helpful in engineering where true logical, analytical, comprehensive skills are required to get to the solution. For example .. if we make a highway bridge with 50% chance of lasting it more than 10 years, you know what may be the consequences.
He already mentioned that he is talking about social science. Bhai tu sahi hai tu technical Mai maar aaya wo bhi GATE Mai... Bhagwaan see darr mat darr GATE Mai method of elimination use karne see khauff kha...😂😂
In addition to that gate has .33 as negative marks and number of mcqs are too less ie. 30(fill in the blanks too). So race of probability ends before you start to get good luck there. So wash you face first.
Bansari Naik They are different because they have not cleared medical and become IAS at 22. They are also different because they did not know elimination method until this video was posted.

Those who are denying what he explained, it is nothing but the Law of Large Numbers in statistics. It says that with the number of experiment repetitions increasing, the proportion of outcomes approaches their theoretical probability. That is if you toss a fair coin 100 times, you can expect to get a near 50-50 distribution of heads and tails. Similarly if you attempt 100 questions with 4 options, and if you are certain that one option is incorrect, you are left effectively with 3 options. Now for each question, your probability of being correct is 1/3 while it is 2/3 for being wrong. So by Law of Large Numbers, you will get about 33 correct and 67 wrong. Since each right answer gets you 2 marks, and each wrong answer gets you -2/3, you still end up getting 33*2 - 67*2/3 = about 21 marks. The payoff is much better, the more options you successfully eliminate. Cheers.
I actually know these tricks an I have been using them since 4th class, now I am in 10th and I still use them! I actually discovered them on my own during an Olympiad for which I didn't study😂 as I totally forgot about it!

Yeah! eliminating options helps a lot, even then one should not guess if he/she is not sure or have some logic behind the answer..Guessing approach is helpful for the history,Gs, etc but this can not be helpful in engineering where true logical, analytical, comprehensive skills are required to get to the solution.
